When I do the backup (full), it runs (I give it about 3 hrs). When I open the task manager is says not responding. Is there another way to move the pictures and captions to a backup and to put on the new computer. Were talking 42 gb of pictures.
View 1 Replies View RelatedJust got PSE11 and am trying to do a full backup. Follow all instructions but after selecting "full backup" it goes into "Calculating Total Media Size" and hangs up at 5%. View 4 Replies View RelatedI'm in the middle of preparing a couple videos for an event in less than 2 weeks. One will be played on a larger LCD or plasma TV. The person in charge of that stuff at the hotel suggested I put that video on a thumb drive and that it could be looped. But now I find out that I have to set that parameter myself. So far, I can only see that it can be done when you burn the DVD. I just tried it and it works fine.
So, my question is, how can I burn the same video, to a thumb drive to accomplish the same end? Is that possible?
BTW, I'm using VP Pro X5 Ultimate on a PC.

I had purchased Photoshop CS5 in 2011 but it came with CD's for install. I stil have them but it doesn't do me any good since there is no disc drive to put them in on the new computer.
How can I install Photoshop using my serial number from my original purchase? I downloaded the CS6 trial version and when I try to activate it with my old serial number it says it is invalid.
In LR3, when exporting a raw file as a jpeg the only choices given at the top of the dialog box are Hard Drive and CD. Is there a way to export directly to a thumb drive or external HD without exporting to the HD then copying the file (s) over?

I do not know why the catalog has changed the file location of "ALL" pictures to the location on my backup drive.
Example: K:My DocumentsMy PicturesPetsPICT1460-1.JPG
The actual location of the original photo is: D:My DocumentsMy PicturesPetsPICT1460-1.JPG
The location of "My Pictures" is on my primary Hard Drive D:My DocumentsMy Pictures
Why is Photoshop changing all of my 37,000+ photo thumbnails to point to my Backup Drive K:?
I need to correct the catalog file. How do I make the correction and stop it from happening in the future?
When i back-up the catalogue, i assumed the backup would be mede of al the tags added to photo's. When i check the catalogue-files, i see a whole lot of jpg-files. My actual photo-collection contains jpg-, raw an avi-files.
I have a habit of making a copy of all my photofiles, but now it seems double
Question: Does de backup-function of photoshop elements 11 actually make a backup of tags and photo's?
When I download in LR 5 pictures on an seperate drive, LR% (LR 4 hasn't done it) during the download on my main HD a "Backup Download" file is created and filled with full copies of the download. This is not my intension and it fills my main HD Any ID where to stop this or to change the settings. Security Backup has a separate Disk and the catalog settings show the right path.
System: Mac OS X 10.4 and LR 5.1
I'm setting up backups for my hard drives. My Photoshop CS 5 scratch drive is on a separate drive. Should I back it up?

View 2 Replies View RelatedI previously purchased Photoshop CS5 with a disc based install. Since, I have upgraded my laptop computer to one that does not have a disc reader in it. Since the move is being made to cloud computing, I thought that would be a fine solution.
I am having trouble locating an area where I can download Photoshop CS5 for my new laptop and then enter the serial key from my previously purchased program.
Ever since I have updated to LR4 with the Cloud I can not access previously saved lightroom catalogs from my back up hard drive. I can see the images but I can not edit them. Lightroom says the files are missing or offline. I have never had this problem before I started using the Cloud.

View 7 Replies View RelatedSo I just tried to do a backup on my new external hard drive and it said it was unable to backup the catalog. Specifically, "Please check your folder permissions, and make sure you have available space on your backup drive and main catalog's drive." I'm not sure what's going on because as far as I know permissions should be fine and there is certainly enough space on the external hard drive. Idk if this makes a differnence but I currently have my catalog backed up on the same internal hard drive that lightroom is used on, I'm just now wanting to back it up on the external. Lighroom 4, Mac computer.
View 4 Replies View RelatedWhen I import images into Lightroom 4 I always automatically backup to my external drive. I then edit my images and usually end up rejecting about 1/3 to half of my images. I delete these permenantly from my PC and the L4 catalogue. BUT they still appear to remain on my backup drive which is now innevitably full. Is there a quick and easy way of deleting these rejected images or syning the master files with the catalogue to free up nearly half of my backup drive?

View 2 Replies View RelatedI have LR3 on a Mac running OS 10.6.8. My catalog, cache and images were stored on an external Lacie 1TB drive (partitioned so it can be used by a pc and mac). My catalog backup files were saved on another external drive MXTR as well as copies of all my images. The Lacie had started self ejecting while running LR3 and I thought it was maybe a problem with the cable, as it would work fine after rebooting. Yesterday it crashed LR3 and never remounted. I used Disk Utility to try and repair the disk and it instructed me to erase the disk and start over. I was not worried, since my catalog was backed up to another drive. . Another 2 hours to copy my images from the MXTR to the Lacie (again the drive never self ejected during this time either). So now I go to find my most recent backup catalog. The most recent one I could find was dated 2/09/2012. I am baffled. What happened all those times I was backing up? I upgraded to LR3 in 2011, and I don't remember ever telling it to backup to another folder or drive.
