I have multiple photos that I am running an action on but each photo is replacing the one before using the same file name. instead of using the original file name. So I end up with 1 edited photo!!! from the action!This is happening using cs5 I have not encounted this before.
View 6 RepliesThis happens only occasionally. I have a file open in PP5. I resample the image -- reduce the physical size from, in this case, 53 inches to 8 inches high, and increase resolution from 72 to 300 dpi, with the resulting file size smaller than the original. I save the file, then import into my layout in Coreldraw. The imported file is back to 72 dpi and the physical size is huge. I reopen the file in PP, resample again, and resave under a new file name. Same problem occurs when I import into Draw. Of course, I can physically shrink the file to 3 inches high and the resulting dpi will be 300.
View 13 Replies View RelatedWhen running a batch I have an existing file open and then an action which opens a pre exisiting file that i Drop images into to give boarders and logos.
When I run the action it drops image into the PSD in the correct area and the file looks correct , then in turn it saves the Original file and not the one the batch ran on even thou the file was worked on and edited on CS6. So in a sense it saves the Original File with the correct File naming when ran in the Batch Image processor.

'm trying to make an action to automate the saving of one photoshop file to multiple different jpegs. Basically what I am doing is producing team pictures from a psd template. I will do player #1 then save as #1jpeg, #2 save as #2jpeg, etc up to 20 players. I tried to make an action but it won't allow me to insert a file name. It would be straight forward if I could get a stop in there. how I could automate this
View 5 Replies View RelatedI'm working on building an action in Illustrator CS5 that will do the following..Delete the layer "original artwork"Select AllCreate OutlinesSave as PDF "content.pdf" to the current working folder with specific settings in the Save PDF prompt..Up to step 4 this is pretty simple, but so far when trying to record the saving step it insists on using the directory that I'm building the action in - not the relative one based on where the current file is opened. Also, unlike the 'Save For Web JPEG' default Illustrator action, the PDF saving step doesn't retain any of the specific settings within the action.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI'm trying to set up an action to save a batch of files I creating using the variables tool (as detailed in this video: [URL]), I'll go into the Actions window, and record myself saving the current file in .Ai format, and then stop recording. Seems pretty simple, but when I set that action to run a batch on my dataset it saves all the files without an extension. Am I missing another step where I set the file format that the action is supposed to save with? I'm confused. I've tried this using a few different file formats and they all come up the same.

Recently I've noticed, when uploading some photo's to my web site that the file size is rather small. I know that cropping, processing, and saving to jpeg results in file size reduction.
So ... I did a test. I took one photo shot in the raw format (the file size was about 21 mp). I then took it into Photoshop CS5 and just saved it as a jpeg ... and the file size went to 9.9 mp. I found that to be a questionable reduction.

So the Question: Is this test reduction normal or am I doing something wrong with my "save as" settings

View 1 Replies View RelatedI am saving an adobe illustrator file as a jpeg for print at a photo center. When I export to save with a 300ppi, the photo center (Target) doesn't recognize the jpeg file. When I save for web, the photo center recognizes the file, but it prints very low quality (pixelized). Both jpegs are being saved at high quality.
View 12 Replies View RelatedWhen I got X3 I checked out the photo Organiser hoping it would be an all in one image solution for me. It would not recognise tags I had added in Win Photo Gallery and because I had heaps of pics I decided to stick with Photo Gallery. That leaves me with another problem with ratings though. If I have a star rating on a file in Photo Gallery and open the file in PSPPX3 the rating disappears once I save the file again - even if I have made no alterations. Frustrating - I have to remember to re-rate any files I process. The rating is preserved in the PSP Organiser but has gone from Photo Gallery.
It is also interesting that whereas tags added in PSPPX3 are recognised in Photo Gallery, the converse is not the case.
I don't mind not using PSP Organiser, I bought the program for the editor, but I wish PSP would not interfere with the things other organisers are using. I presume it is part of the EXIF data.
I created a simple action on my pc.
I now want to put the action on my laptop.
I know where to put the atn file.
But to save me searching the C drive everytime I want to install actions.
Is there away to auto install to the correct folder.
Like a script or another action.
I lose complex actions becuse I have to force quit.
so now I save action.
But sometimes I notice after save action, I quit PS, come back, and the new action is not there.
I am trying to find a faster way to save my images. I shoot in raw, save raw images as jpegs after editing them in Camera Raw. I am using Photoshop CS6 on a Mac version 10.7.5. When I save, I either have to save as a copy of the exisiting image, or replace the image I'm working on. Other forums I've read said to make an action to save and create a function key to make this process faster, but my function keys aren't working, and playing the action I've created still makes a copy of the image.

Today I hit Previous and the selected photo AND every photo after it gets adjusted.
What could I have possibly hit to change the behavior of the button?
I created my own set of actions in PS CS5. When i open a folder of JPGs and want them to get changed by that set automatically everything works but the saving the file.
I tried safe&close and renaming the files and safing them in another folder but they don´t get saved. all that pops up is a window asking me where i want to safe the copy-file of that JPG . If I do so it saves the file with the changes from the set. but it stops everytime.
I have a action that I use to convert RGB JPG files to CMYK. After it is done I save the file as tiff.
I want it so that the action does the save as tiff bit, but when I at the save as tiff bit to the action it remembers the loacation where a saved it. Instead I want it to save it in the same folder as the original JPG. So I can use it for different folders with JPG files in it.
I've made a cool action which includes resizing for web and lab sharpening. Is there a way to save this action and send it to a friend so he can install it in his actions?

I have a user in my group that is hesitant to upgrade to 2012 because , he has many lisp routines that are associated with the PREVIOUS selection feature. This selection is very useful in that when you are moving or selecting many objects you can enter P for previous and the object will be selected.
In 2009, when you select objects then hit escape, then try to execute a command requesting to use the Previous, AutoCAD will remember the last selected object and then highlight it.
In 2012, when you select objects then hit escape, then try to execute a command using P for previous, it will not highlight the previous object selected but will highlight the previous object where a command was executed on.
Hope I haven't lost you. It seems there should be a setting under SELECTION of how to manipulate the Previous selection feature.
Recently upgraded from PSE 7 to PSE 11.
Now I'm unable to open .tga files I created/saved in PSE 7.
I recorded an Action to place the Author's Name and other information in the file info.
Running the action solely works. Placing it in the group w/ other actions, the file info step is executed, but file info is not added. What should I look for to troubleshoot?

After converting footnotes to endnotes by means of PK's script the purpose is to replace notes in one language by another. It is a long document (600 endnotes).
Replacing the original endnotes (spanish) with the new file (english) destroys the original hyperlinks (superscript) references in the endnotes.
The new file that will replace the old endnotes is already isolated (and may be numbered) and has the same quantity.Could not insert sequenced hyperlinks codes or replace.
I've a magazine article for a group that wants to have anecdotes by people with pictures. My editor wants me to add those old style scalloped edges to the cmyk 400 dpi pictures.... and guess when I have to have it done ....
