Why is it that when ever I launch CS6 Photoshop does it automatically open a file that I worked on previously? The file (at this point) is always the same file and is was worked on over a month ago.
Photoshop is all up-to-date and I am seeing this on Mac OS versions: OS X 10.6.8 but not on Mac OS X 10.8.2.
It happened at the color picker stage when choosing the color of my inset shadow on a rectangle. Everytime I make a selection it launches "Adobe help" and opened over 40 tabs on Chrome.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI have a user in my group that is hesitant to upgrade to 2012 because , he has many lisp routines that are associated with the PREVIOUS selection feature. This selection is very useful in that when you are moving or selecting many objects you can enter P for previous and the object will be selected.
In 2009, when you select objects then hit escape, then try to execute a command requesting to use the Previous, AutoCAD will remember the last selected object and then highlight it.
In 2012, when you select objects then hit escape, then try to execute a command using P for previous, it will not highlight the previous object selected but will highlight the previous object where a command was executed on.
Hope I haven't lost you. It seems there should be a setting under SELECTION of how to manipulate the Previous selection feature.
I have recently upgraded from AutoCAD 2008 to 2001. Now when opening a file from windows explorer (desktop vs the AutoCAD browser) and AutoCAD is not running. AutoCAD will startup and open a new drawing as well as bring up the dialog box for finding a file to open, which I cancel, THEN open the drawing that I have selected. I have not seen this before and am wondering what variable or option is causing to happen. I am also seeing two icons for the same drawing file in the Windows task bar.

I cannot right click on it, I have tried searching for it in my computer to delete the file, it doesn't exist anywhere. View 1 Replies View RelatedThis is driving me nuts. When I save a photoshop file as a .png at 300 ppi, when I open it it is 299.999 ppi.
I wouldn't mind for my personal use, but these are digital files I sell. Believe me, I will get emails about it.
Even when I open the .png file and change the ppi to 300, if I open it again it's once again 299.999!
I am saving files with a transparent background with compression no interlacing. I'm using save as, not save for web.
Here's the interesting thing.
1. This started happening when I got my new iMac with Lion and installed CS6. Did both at the same time.
2. My assistant, this happens with my assistant who is on PC with Photoshop CS5.
I opened a raw file from a CD in photoshop cs4, lets call it photo1.nef. 2) I saved the file with a different name on my HARD DRIVE after making changes, photo1b.tif. I did not in any shape or form save the file on the CD (can't anyways). 3) Now, whenever I open the original file, photo1.nef on the CD it opens with all the changes I made previously to the file saved as photo1b.tif (remember this is the original unchanged file not the file I changed). But, when looking at thumbnails it appears to be the unchanged version of the file. I have closed photoshop and deleted all my temp files and still it opens the file with the changes, even though other programs open the file in it's original state without any of my changes.

Now I'm unable to open .tga files I created/saved in PSE 7.
I am attempting to have photoshop open a 16bit grayscale ramp that I generated in matlab, but a problem is occuring with mach banding still occuring eventhough photoshop is setup to be working in 10bit images right now. Are there other settings that I need to change inorder to fix this problem. (also I am using a 10bit monitor which is why I am working in the higher bits).

The CS3 shows error when I try to open any file. After that windows XP closes the application Sometimes CS3 opens small .jpg but very, very slow (1MB last about 3 min).
Yesterday I did reinstalation but without results.
I want to create an action that only opens one particular file type, performs some changes to it, then finds all the others of that file type. I can do everything else and use the Image Processor to run it, but I can't find any way to tell the action to only open .GIF files and ignore everything else.

But nothing I tried, from restore plug ins to online retrieve systems (that tried to bring back individual layers, only accounting to a single black layer and a bunch of blank ones) worked. I'd really like to get the picture back, or at least a png of it, but I'm at loss for what to try next. I use Cs5.1 64 bits.

View 9 Replies View RelatedI double-click on a image file associated with Photoshop, or use "Open With" to select Photoshop, the Photoshop program starts but the file does not open. Also, when Photoshop opens I get a window that says, "One or more files in the Adobe Photoshop Support folder, necessary for running Photoshop, are missing. Please run the Photoshop installer and re-install Photoshop."
I cannot re-install, so I need to find what file is missing and copy it from my other Mac.
Last week I finished my artwork and saved as usual as an .ai file. I checked it again a few days ago, made a few amendments, and it was fine. Today I tried to open it but a box I have never seen before seems to think my document is a pdf and I get the option to open either 'image' or 'pages'. I open pages and the artwork does not look such great resolution as it did previously.
I tried to open it in Photoshop not AI.
I have just upgraded from CS3. My workflow when preparing files for the printer is to print to postscript file, then use distiller to convert the file to pdf for sending.
CS3 retained the file location, so that each time I performed the same action, it went straight to the previous folder where the postscript file (for the current AI file) was created.
Now, in CS6, it takes me back to 'My Computer' (equivalent in Windows 7) every time... which is really, really frustrating to have to re-navigate back to the same server path every time I output the file. (Which I do a lot as I do final checks and proofing within acrobat, so need to perform this process frequently).
I have been working on a project and illustrator and accidentally reverted the file. Is there any possible way to recover the previous file or undo the revert command?

I Need to urgently fix this issue, since I cannot see most of my layers on the file after it opens.
I am using Adobe Illustrator CS6, on a macbook Pro device.
It is only happening with 2 files, created in CS4. When I go to open either of these documents, I get 3 previews opening at once. I restarted Illustrator, I also tried saving one of the documents as a CS3 document and the problem happens every time. All of magnifications are different, one is at 99.37% and the 2 other open files are also at random magnifications. Is there a way to stop this from happening?

I managed to open the file with Adobe Accrobat and saved it as eps then open it in Illustrator but the paths are mess and all effects converted to embeded images.I also placed the file but if I try to edit the link it gives me the same error and when I embedded the link it was a little bit better but similar mess like the eps saved from Acrobat..I'm using Illustrator CS5 Design file Windows 7.
