I recorded an Action to place the Author's Name and other information in the file info.
Running the action solely works. Placing it in the group w/ other actions, the file info step is executed, but file info is not added. What should I look for to troubleshoot?
In creating an action that will be passed on to others I'm looking for a way to include a 'help window' that can be left open (with additional info they will want to refer to) until the user is finished with the action.
The 'stop' segment within an action does not contain enough space and closes when the user continues to the next segment of the action. I'm trying to figure out how to get an 'info window' to stay open during the entire action- if the user needs to refer back to it.
photo merge on cs5 loads and gaters all info but when it finishes, photo is not there. This has worked in past, but not now.I reloaded software and made sure windows was updated. Tried converting photos to other file formats.
I am using PSE10 and I have just upgraded from lion to mountain lion 10.8.2. Previously when I clicked "write keyword tag and properties info to photo" it seemed to just do that. Since the upgrade to mountain lion when I click 'write keyword tag and properties info to photo" it also changes the date the photo was created to the date the info was written to the photo .
How I can get it to write the keyword info *without* changing the date the photo was created?
As I review photos clicking on their thumbnails in the book module's film strip on the bottom of the screen I can't seem to find a way to have (1) the name of the photo file displayed and (2) the name of folder where the photo file resides.
In Bridge one has the option to have up to 4 lines of customer-selected information displayed below each thumbnail.
Is there a way do do something similar in Lightroom 4.1 ? How can I view the file name and the name of the folder where it resides as I select the image in the film strip ?
How can I find out what type of sharpening, if any, was used when a photo was exported from Lightroom 4? I have a photo with a watermark that is slightly different from the original but I am not sure what type of sharpening was used when the photo was exported.
Sometimes I take a screenshot from within L/R 3.6 and send it by email. Problem is the image name/date/size info. overlay spoils the image. I've looked all over L/R prefs etc but I can't see how to turn the info. off, assuming it's possible to do so?
I used to be able to import pics from my camera into a specific folder on my hard drive. That was until 2 weeks ago. Now my only choice is to import into the folders below. C. drive - where all my digi camera pics are - is no longer there. How do I get L/R import to recognize my hard drive again.
I would like to automate the creation of a frame with top rounded corners around images as shown in the image below. The rounded corners should always be the same size and angle no matter the size of the picture.
I'm having problems creating and recording a suitable photoshop action that would work for any picture dimension and that won't resize the top rounded corners.

in LR3 custom package did not support photo info. Has this changed in LR4 - is there a way to add a caption to a jpeg file generated via the custom package?
I've a magazine article for a group that wants to have anecdotes by people with pictures. My editor wants me to add those old style scalloped edges to the cmyk 400 dpi pictures.... and guess when I have to have it done ....
How do I change the default font that is used for printing "Photo Info" in the Print Module? The only option I can find is the Font Size option, but what determines the default font that Lightroom uses to print the photo info?
As far as I can tell there is no way to change the "Photo Info" color to something other than black, is this correct?
I have multiple photos that I am running an action on but each photo is replacing the one before using the same file name. instead of using the original file name. So I end up with 1 edited photo!!! from the action! This is happening using cs5 I have not encounted this before.
I am trying to create an Action in CS6 that uses "Image Trace" and the preset "High Fidelity Photo", but when the action is run in batch it uses the preset "Default". Can I make "High Fidelity Photo" the default Image Trace?
I also noticed that in the action I created there is a blank line under "Image Tracing" when I expand that step in the action.
i am trying to build an action where the end product is a channel listing that has all the channel (R-G-B-L-C-Y-M-K (forget LAB a-b)). this will allow me to look at all the channels for contrast and subsequent extraction. i'm actually able to do this as i RECORD the action. but when i RUN the action, nothing happens.
in recording the action, i create a DUPLICATE IMAGE, then convert the new image to LAB. i then drag the "L" channel to the original image. it goes into the original image as an alpha channel which i rename to "Lightness." i then convert the duplicate image to CMYK and then one-by-one DRAG the individual channels to the original image. at the end of this process, i have all eight channels visible in the channels palette. this is what i want.
but then, when i RUN the action on a new image, the action fails to RECORD the "drag step and drop" step. the "L," "C," etc. channels are not dragged during the running of the action.
needs to overlay a grid over a photo and then save it as another file. In CS5.5 or earlier, no problem, but in CS6 it is not working for either of us.
The batch action (run from either Photoshop or Bridge) stops and prompts at the Save command every time no matter what format we save it in (psd, png, jpg, save for web, etc.).
I have been through the Web and the Adobe Forums and cannot find a work around for this. He cannot just hit enter everytime the popup window comes up because he has over 2700 photos to put this grid on.
My system info of pse 7 tells me that the operating system is vista while I'm working with windows 7. It also shows a place for the catalogfile that don't exists on my computer.
When I am using CS at home - at the bottom - there is like a bar along the bottom - you know like when you open or save a file - you see like a blue progress bar on it. When I use CS2 at uni, I dont see it -
I now use CS but when I ran on PS7 the image always had information on the bottom of it...either: size of the file or veiw pct and something else...I really don't miss it but I just noticed its not there,
Where does Photoshop (and Bridge) pull the timestamp information it uses for "date modified" from?
The time/date on my computer (from the system tray) are correct, but when I work on pictures they get a "date modified" stamp of February, 2036. New files created through Bridge get the same timestamp.
I'm trying to make a poster in photoshop as a X-mas gift for a friend (he's a huge MJ fan) and I was wondering if I need to change any settings or maybe there's some type of rule or guidline I would need to follow.
Modifying the "file info" for a gif file (in my case, "General" tab, "Document Title" and "Description") doesn't actually get saved with the file - or, at least, if it is saved, it's not visible when re-opening the file.
I believe that I understood that metadata for .png format isn't supported, but I thought that .gif was. (Test case is easy: open .gif file, add a Title and Description, save, and re-open - information is gone).
I need to install a custom one that is working for CS5 and CS6, so that it can be seen and used in CC. But I don't know where to put it? (on the Mac)
for CS5 it goes here:
Main 3.0: /Library/Application Support/Adobe/XMP/Custom File Info Panels/3.0/panels/ User 3.0: /Users/[username]/Library/Application Support/Adobe/XMP/Custom File Info Panels/3.0/panels
for CS6 it goes here:
Main 4.0: /Library/Application Support/Adobe/XMP/Custom File Info Panels/4.0/panels/ User 4.0: /Users/[userName]/Library/Application Support/Adobe/XMP/Custom File Info Panels/4.0/panels
every time i try to draw a marquee or draw a shape in ps6, a small info box appears next to my curser. it is incredibly distracting, and i cannot figure out how to get rid of it.
Basically I have an image that I created that has 3 layers. 1 is a bunch of brush strokes that are red, one with strokes that are green, and 1 with strokes that are blue. What I want to do is take the red layer and make all its strokes green, and vice versa, basically just switching the color of everything on the layers. I would think there is some kind of setting I could just change.
I have a MAC OS X which has 3 users. I have been playing with textures and on one user I am able to move the texture on top a photo and size it to fit. On the other user I am not able to size as the sizing info does not appear. I have tried different shots but nothing changes.
