Illustrator :: Inconsistent Values In Info And Transform Panel?
Dec 15, 2013What circumstances would cause inconsistent values for Width and Height to be shown in the Info Panel vs the Transform Panelin AI CS6? For instance, I have a vector object selected and the Transform Panel has "80 in" for the width value and the Info Panel shows "96.8654 in". Height is likewise screwy.

Problem: Transform applied to Smart Object fails to transform an attached Smart Filters Mask.
I mean a Transform, including Free Transform, as found in the Edit menu. A simple move by the Move Tool is OK.
A workaround until this bug is squashed is to encapsulate the Smart Object + Smart Filters + Filter Mask inside another Smart Object and transform that.However, that will not be a satisfactory solution in some cases. If a filter has size parameter(s), e.g. Gaussian Blur radius, a scaling or warping/distorting transform applied after the filter will obviously differ from the filter applied after the transform.
In any case, the workaround is inconvenient to subsequent editing and experimenting with filters and masks.

Dec 29, 2012My system info of pse 7 tells me that the operating system is vista while I'm working with windows 7. It also shows a place for the catalogfile that don't exists on my computer.

The time/date on my computer (from the system tray) are correct, but when I work on pictures they get a "date modified" stamp of February, 2036. New files created through Bridge get the same timestamp.

Jul 23, 2004I'm need to get the stripes to bend like in the photo. I tried it once with skew transformation, using it couple of times, step by step, but it did not look that smooth.
So is there a way I can do it? I have no clue how, if at all, it can be done.

May 11, 2012Modifying the "file info" for a gif file (in my case, "General" tab, "Document Title" and "Description") doesn't actually get saved with the file - or, at least, if it is saved, it's not visible when re-opening the file.
I believe that I understood that metadata for .png format isn't supported, but I thought that .gif was. (Test case is easy: open .gif file, add a Title and Description, save, and re-open - information is gone).

Feb 16, 2005This is an interesting question. As most of your probably know, Filebrowser is kind of an app with an app. You can open a RAW camera file and set all the parameters for conversion, then update the file without opening it by choosing the alt (PC) or option (Mac) key. This changes the convert box to update.
A friend of mine, also a photographer, applied color corrections to an entire wedding using Filebrowser and updating his RAW files. He then burned a DVD of the RAW files and sent it to his lab. They converted his files and posted a web gallery. He then noticed that the files were horrible! All the conversion settings were not retained with the RAW files.
I have always assumed that any updated conversion information was stored in the EXIF information of the RAW file. Now I'm beginning to wonder if it's stored in the Filebrowser cache or meta information. If this is the case, then which files need to be kept with the RAW files when you transfer them to another computer? Can this be accomplished?

Sep 19, 2005It's about time I replaced my 5400RPM Drive for a 7200RPM unit. At the moment I have a partition used as Photoshop's Scratch disk. Just wondering if it would be wiser to keep the 5200RPm unit as a seperate scratch disk, or have a faster partition on the 7200RPM unit.

- Do scratch file writes/reads occur at the same time as operating system paging? Is there any practical reason not to put PS scratch disk and OS paging file on the same physical drive?
