Photoshop :: 3D Shapes Black / Too Dark
Mar 29, 2013
I am experiencing the problem in CS6 described here:
[URL]......
Â
However, the file provided by Adobe as a solution is an empty text file. Is this a mistake? I followed the instructions but it did not fix the issue. I'm guessing that the text file provided needs to contain some data.

I scanned a black and white print in color and am trying to replace all the black with dark green. Been trying for hours in elements 9. This is all so hard. Just to ask this question I have typed it into 3 different screens, set screenname, many other hurdles.

Anyone know if there is a good black or dark skin for Photoshop CS4? Perhaps one that looks like Lightroom?Â

I have been faced with an almost identical problem listed here URL....The only thing that changes it from complete blackness is the "Ambience" value. I've done all software and hardware updates, reinstalled the graphics card driver, and restarted a multitude of times. I am using:
Â
Dell Optiplex 390
Intel(R) HD Graphics 2000
Windows 7 64 bit
Photoshop CC
No Color Management
No plug-ins, or anything other than default PS settings
Â
I used Lighting Effects on Photoshop CS3 and CS6 for almost two years on this machine with no problem. This was the first time I had tried to use it since I upgraded to CC. I uninstalled all other versions of PS when I upgraded, so I have not tried to replicate the problem in older versions.

I am having a huge issue with Photoshop CS5.5. The gradients and colors are acting crazy. When I bring in a image with a gradient it gets black spots all in the dark areas. Even when I use the default gradient selection this is what happens. When I bring in a picture that should have a white background it turns to black. Now apparently, when I save it out as a JPEG saves correctly without the black line or messed up gradients. So it seems to only be an issue when I am working in Photoshop, the gradients appear messed up. What is wrong with my display?

I have been using Photoshop for a while now but have recently been invited to design some sportswear. I want to initially take existing clothing and change the colours and add designs. As an example, how would I get this soccer kit to be either all white or white on everything apart from the shorts?
I have managed to get yellow to go white using the hue/saturation tool but dark colours seem like its impossible. I do also want to know how to go from white to a darker colour but maybe I should save that for my next thread.

When I have a drawing open in AutoCAD LT 2012 any xrefs are very dull or perhaps dark is a better description and on a black background tend to be very difficult to see. Is there a setting somewhere I can change to brighten up the xref?

I though I welded something I shouldn't have, but after I undid the Weld action, the vertices were back, but the model still looked like this?

When I am going through RAW files from my Canon cameras (1Ds MkIII and 6D) I edit them in the develop module and then convert to aRGB or sRGB depending on the output media. They look good in aRGB and sRGB too when I take into account the limitations of sRGB.
Â
---> However, if I try the softproof to aRGB or sRGB the resulting proof crushes dark tones into solid black. Why is this when the actual conversions are way better? The actual conversions look good in both LR and PS CS5.
Â
I have also noticed that when I upload images to my online galleries and view them with Firefox (latest version and color management enabled for all rendered graphics) they appear darker in the darkest tones than what they appear in LR. What gives?

Here is what my artboard looks like. What I'm trying to do is just get the black shapes as one solid logo without the white showing. For example, if I were to place this in another Illustrator project, it would still have the white rectangles with full transperency. I tried a tut online, but when I place the AI file into another project, the WHOLE image is invisible.
Â
If I were to open this AI file in Photoshop, I could use the Magic Wand to delete the white parts and leave just the black shape. I want to be able to resize the black shape and use it on banners, avatars, etc.
Â
Background notes: I am using this for my gaming website and I would like to be able to use this for my logo. (Crossfire)

My friend has taken some engagement photographs and unfortunately the couple have dark hair and the background is also dark - I think you can see her problem with the photos. Somehow the background needs to be lightened and neither of us know how (we both have Photoshop 7)

I drew something up on a sheet of paper, scanned it, then traced it's bitmap as line art. I then proceded to edit the vectors to recover all the detail I lost with the tracing. It took forever!
Now that I´m done, I realised there is a problem... how can I color in the drawing, if the lines themselves make up the shape? Essentially, I´m left with blank spaces in between all the lines instead of solid individual shapes that can be colored in.
What can I do? I´m so desperate I´m thinking of creating a gazillion individual shapes with the colors, and slapping them underneath the lines to "improv" a fill. But that will take waay too long, so is there an easier way?
If I could "invert" the shape I have now, so that the blank spaces become individual shapes, and the lines become blank spaces.

is there any way to add shapes, in the "basic shapes" bar?
or maybe in any other locations.
I use a lot of predefines shapes, that are saved in various files. i wanna make a way to directly import these shapes, whithout open files and copy/paste the dsired shapes.

Calibrating the monitor doesn't help.....it means that the brightness of the photos is okay but then again everything else on the screen is too light.
Tried changing color prfofiles etc but no difference.
The strange thing is that it only happens with photoshop....cs, cs2 and elements. With oher programs as I mentioned the photos when dispalyed are the original brightness they need to be.

In CS3, I'm having trouble getting my prints to match the appearance on monitor -- my prints are uniformly 1-2 stops too dark, color otherwise is very good. I have calibrated my Dell monitor with Colorvision's Spyder2 colorimeter. Prints are also a hair too dark in CS2, but not as dark.
Photos and Photoshop are in RGB color space. Printer is Epson R2400 with updated drivers I just downloaded and updated into Photoshop. I also downloaded updated ICC color profiles for the Epson Premium Glossy Paper I use.
Printer settings in Photoshop are: Photoshop manages color; Adobe RGB printer profile; perceptual rendering intent; black point compensation "on"; ICM color management; color management set to "Off". I'm using North American Prepress 2 color setting. These are the exact settings Scott Kelby recommends in his "Adobe Photoshop CS3 Book for Digital Photographers" for getting calibrated prints.

I am in Photoshop, all the colors are darker and more saturated. but when I save the file, it gets all light and not how I wanted it. Just to let you know, I am running CS2.
Much more full of color. This is what I wanted. I also might add that when I load pictures they are darker than when I open them out of photoshop. For some reason it just makes everything darker when in photoshop.

I am using Photoshop CS3. We also use Indesign CS2. Our photos usually come out really dark in our newspaper. Whenever I lighten the photos the color looks washed out but if I don't lighten them, they become extremely dark. Same thing with our grayscale photos. I have emailed another paper and they suggest we open the midtones on our photos and use a highlight dot at 2% and shadow dot range from 93-97%, depending on how much black area there is in the photo. My question? When they say open the midtones, where do I find the highlight dot and shadow dot?

Old: CS3 printing to Epson 3800. New: CS4 prints dark on Epson 3800. Regardless of picture sent over. Same settings as with CS3 and every variation I can think of. Epson 3800 hasn't changed. Only Adobe Photoshop version has. I can print the same pics from (example) Windows picture manager, and what I see on the CALIBRATED screen I see on the Epson, so this isn't an Epson issue.

I have a deadline for my art GCSE closing in and there's a major problem with my final piece! The actual art work is fine, and It looks fantastic viewed from photoshop. However, the printing company requires it to be in PDF format, and when I save as PDF the PDF file has darker, blander colours. Really noticable... I find with photoshop everything I print comes out darker also.. so I tried researching this and found out a bit about CMYK and RGB but to be honest I need someone too explain this to me in english, with no highly confusing technical terms. My final piece relies on bright pink and blue, and so I wouldn't want to waste the money printing it on A2, only for it to have dull colours.Thank you so much in advance I am extremely worried (I've uploaded a JPEG to show how I want it to look when printed, and then a PDF to show the annoying dull colour change)

I just started using PhotoShop 7. I noticed that every image I opened is MUCH darker than it appears when looking at it using any other program (Corel/Internet Explorer/Exif). If I adjust the levels inside PhotoShop so that the picture looks good, it become over-exposed in all my other programs.
