View 7 RepliesI use Paintshop Photo X3 and I am creating a series of dvd and cd labels. I know how to do curved text or text on a curve but I can't work out how to get curved margins. On some of the disc labels I want to keep my text straight but edged left to a curve margin.

View 1 Replies View RelatedHow to make curved lines, slice them into regular rectangles ?
Here is an example :
I did it with the Pen Tool. But it does not look regular at all. I would like to be able to choose the curving angle and the spaces between the small rectangles...
1) Can I put some sort of grid overlay onto the canvas?
2) How can I insert rectangles of a specific size>?
Just came upon an error I had not seen before. Though PSP no longer supports Animation Shop, up until PSP X4, the user has been able to export frames back to PSP from Animation Shop. Now, this no longer works! There's still some communication there, because an error message - which, incidentally, makes absolutely no sense at all - is generated in PSP X4:

I would like to draw a line,, curved.. and then type text on the page.. then cut and paste the text, letter by letter on the curved line that I drew.. then when done,, remove the line,, leaving just the text in the shape of the line that I drew.
My question is how do I create text in a curved line? I have a circular logo which I want to have a curved line of text above and below. I can create the text OK but I can't see how to make it curved.

View 7 Replies View RelatedI want to create a rectangular picture but I want quite pronounced curved corners
I now I can change all the corner pixels to a differant colour ot make them transparent but as I want to do this to lots of pics I am hoping there is an easier way.
When trying to cut out a piece of an image such as with cmd shift J with anti aliasing turned on, there is a gap between the cut out and the new image about as wide as the marquee. If I turn anti aliasing off there is no longer a gap, but then I have a very jagged cut out, since may of the pieces I'm cutting out are circular. Is there anyway to still get a smooth edged cut out without the gap?

How to create a flow arrow label for a feature line that parallels the curve?
I've a vague notion that this could be done with a dynamic block and a few fancy expressions. I'm comfortable with expressions, but I've never used dynamic blocks at all, so I wouldn't know where to start.
To be clear, I know curved text is possible, but I'm looking for a curved line (ie an arc) that would look 'parallel' to the arc of the feature line (ie have the same centre point). This would have to be dynamic to allow for different radii and for flipping to the left and right side of the feature line.
Having a time getting ribs to align 2m below top of ridge beam, and connect to curved wall below. I created one, then arrayed, but the radius changes at each 2.5 degree interval. I don't think I should have to calculate the % radius change to get the beams to do this. Some constraint button maybe?
Not sure if editing a wall profile is the best way to model this, but it's working.
I want to extrude a big number of pillars to a rather complicated surface and that works out fine. But each end of the pillars warps around the surface and I want them just to go up to it and stop with a resulting horizontal face.

View 1 Replies View RelatedWhenever I add a stroke to text it never stays straight edged like the text, it becomes more rounded. Question is, is there a way to stroke the text with the edges staying straight instead of rounded without having to just draw a box around it or something?
Here's a picture of what I'm going for, I'm fine with making a box around the text (there are other characters, rounded characters like an "O"), but it would be a big time saver if there was a way to do it quicker.
Stroke in Photoshop is on the left, desired effect is on the right. The letter "i" might be a bad example, however the effect I'm looking for is a stroke keeping the shape of the text rather than rounding itself.
We are working on AutoCAD Arch 2012 and there is a custom edge profile we are using but we cannot get the profile to visualy turn off. We have placed it on its own layer and still can't turn it off.
This worked fine when we were in '04 - but it isn't working in '12... is this a bug?
just attempting to customize my viewing preferences a bit.
When I am in an editable poly, and the Viewport is set to Smooth & Highlights + Edged Faces...
When I go to make a polygon selection, the edge faces option divides each polygon into two triangles which is just annoying. Maybe I'm just used to newer versions of max where it doesn't do this.
everytime i start Max 2014 i had to untick the "Display Selected with Edged faces" in the viewport configuration tab...is there a way to untick this permamently?

View 14 Replies View RelatedI just started using photoshop again. I haven't used it properly since art classes a few years back and i've forgotten bits and pieces.
i could never make picture in this style of the attached one below quickly and whatever technique i had before i've forgotten so i want to know if anyone has a quick technique of turning normal pictures into this wicked pop-art flash style. I can tell it should be easy but extracting the layers of colour seems to be the hardest.
pre 2012, if you had display edged faces on, the selected splines would turn white - so you could tell what was selected in viewport. using nitrous, this isn't possible for us. Open GL or Direct 3D work fine but not nitrous. or is this a bug?

View 2 Replies View RelatedI want to use the paint brush for editing a photo I have, but the only color available is black. No matter where I've looked in PSP, there was no option to change the color of the paint brush. I've read online that you need to change the pallet to material pallet, then go to "Foreground & Stroke Properties" and set the color box to the color I want, but the only colors I get are different hues of black and gray.
Even in Paint it's just a matter of clicking the desired color to use different colors. Why isn't it so simple in PSP?
I am currently working in a facade that has a stylized gondola on it. The gondola has curved walls for the sides, and I need to have the curved cut to give it the shape. The tools I know are for straight walls, not curved. and the Opening/wall makes a squared opening, not curved.

I cannot get the Nik HDR module to work with my PSP X5
