Paint Shop Pro :: How To Produce 800 X 600 Pixel Photo
Sep 12, 2011Joined the recent webinar on X4 and very impressed with the product. I currently use Photoimpact X3 but looking to change to the new product.
How do I import photos of all different sizes and output to a 800 x 600 photo suitable for import to a digital photoframe? In Photoimpact, I set up a new image that is 800 x 600, make changes to the photo (crop, hue, etc), resize so that the minimum ht or wdth is 600 or 800, right click, copy, move to new image, paste, then move the image about until I am happy with the finished photo and save to a file that will subsequently be copied to a USB pen drive.

Jan 12, 2012In Photo-Paint X5, there is an option that allows you to turn off the pixel grid. It's located under Tools -> Options -> Document -> Grid -> Pixel Grid. If I uncheck the "Show pixel grid at 800% and higher zoom", then the pixel grid is turned off as expected. However, the next time I open another document, the pixel grid gets turned right back on. How do I make it so the pixel grid is always off? I've tried making it fully transparent, but the transparency resets each time I open a new image as well.

Apr 23, 2012One thing I never liked about Corel PhotoPaint X5 was that a pixel grid appeared when you zoomed in. It is possible to turn this off on a per-document basis, but not globally. Now, I see X6 still didn't fix this.

Jun 19, 2012A) I am using a 825 pixel x 1125 pixel, 300 dpi photo (poker card size) which shows in the 'resize window' a printed photo size of: 2.75 x 3.75 cm.
However when viewing the photo in painnet on the screen, the ruler on top, shows something totally different.
A#1) Is it correct, that the ruler displayed, needs to be ignored, as it's not actual cm or inches?
A#2) Is it correct, that the size of the photo will be the one shown in the resize window only?
(Though I have experienced a discrepancy when printing, too).
B ) On the above mentioned 825 x 1125 photo I need to place another photo.
The size of that photo is in pixels: 213 x 312 pixel, 28 dpi.
Now, when I place this smaller photo onto the poker card size,
it's displayed, as if you place a stamp onto an A4 sheet of paper,
despite of the poker size actually only being 0.75 cm wider and the height being only 0.29 cm larger on each size.
B#1) Why am I experiencing such a discrepancy?
B#2) Is this normal, as the computer screen displays it differently,

Oct 16, 2012I'm designing some screens for an retina display iPad and I just want the illustrator document on my 27" thunderbold monitor (at 109 ppi) to have the same physical dimensions as the physical iPad screen (7.75" x 5.81"). Maybe its so obvious that no one talks about how to do it. I do feel a little embarassed that I haven't figured this out.
Regardless of whenther I enter the doucment dimensions in inches or in pixels the resulting document is never the same pysicial size as the iPad's screen. And since Illustrator deals in vectors it doesn't have any notion of PPI that I can use to bring inches and pixels into alignement so that what I see on my monitor is the same physical size as what's in the iPad.
All i want is the AI document displayed on my monitor to be the exact same size as my iPad's screen.

Dec 29, 2012Have used Corel photo album 6 for many years and loved it, was very easy to use. When I got my new laptop, I was told that my program was outdated and was recommended that I purchase Corel paintshop Prox4, so I did. I would like to burn my pictures to a CD or DVD for backup and to share with my family, only. My old program had an easy one step button to click on to make a CD/DVD. I find this product to be difficult to use for an average person just wanting to have a little fun with their pictures and doing some minor corrections.

Jun 25, 2012I am planning to get some photos printed on vinyl wallpaper. The physical dimensions of the wall paper will be 1300mm x 2500mm and as I am ordering it online, there is an upload restriction of 8MB (file formats allowed are .pdf .jpg and .zip).
I would like to collage multiple images to create my wallpaper and plan to resize and edit each image before collating them in one large image. Then I will resize that image to be the final one (if that makes sense).
What I want to know is, is there any simple way to work out what my final image's pixel width and height will need to be to fit the 8MB restriction? I have no idea what the printing dpi is, the website only indicates that images should be 'at least 4MB for good quality'...which means nothing.
Ideally I would like to work with a starting image with 4x or 16x the pixels so it resizes nicely...I just don't know where to start.

Feb 22, 2013making a GIF with PP. I'm working on a really simple one, I have a background, and I have an object that I want to move into the frame, then back out of the frame. Then loop.
Do I really have to combine the moving object with the back ground EVERY single frame?
Is there a way to say take this object over this many frames and move it from here to there?
Is there a way to save the position of the object in each frame without combining it to the background each time? I'd like to set it, go to the next frame, move it, go to the next frame, move it, repeat.
Current System: i3 3.07ghz, 3gb ram, Windows 7 32 bit with all updates and X6

Dec 12, 2012I have been removing photo backgrounds, saving them as .png and using them in a Power Point Project. Apparently when I reopened that PowerPoint project to add more photos, Libre Office's Impress opened the .ppt file rather than PowerPoint. When I had added all of the png photos and saved the ppt file again I saw that it was "Impress" not PowerPoint that was saving he file, but it still saved it as a ppt file.
I was not concerned until I went to open the ppt file with PowerPoint and discovered that PowerPoint could not open that ppt file. I decided that I had to start fresh and add all of the png photos in a new Pow1erPoint Project. Then I found that he transparent background ol all of the png files had been changed to black. I must have transparent backgrounds. So I took each photo back into Paint.Net and used the Magic Wand to remove the backgrounds, then saved them as png files. When I sent to use those edited .png files the backgrounds were still black. I have tried removing those black backgrounds several times but they continue to have black backgrounds. what I can try to get the transparent backgrounds back?
