I need a easy way to mask a .bmp(sprite) image like this... to this a sprite with mask...
I was just wondering is there is any plug-in to achieve this ? The reason why is im trying to make a game in Just BASIC and i would love to do all sprites in PDN.
I have an image, whose outline is well defined, which I am preparing for laser cutting/engraving. I am trying to find a quick and easy way of creating a cutting path around the edges of the image. Tracing in Corel Draw is not good enough. PhotoPaint will convert the mask to a path but it is not well defined. I can easily create an accurate mask with Paint Shop Pro, and even fill it with black colour, but that is as far as I can get. I have tried pasting as a new image but there is an undeleteable and unmoveable layer created which stops the image being visible. Instead of crisp black image I just get a blank white square.

With a drawing program, the process goes like this:Draw a box somewhere near the field I'm masking.Use the color-matching tool to ensure that the box matches the field.Resize and reposition the box to exactly cover the field.(Optional) Repeat this process with a text box to present the 'dummy' data on top. However, my workplace requires us to use Paint, which doesn't support drawing actions like this (moving and resizing objects). Is there some other way to accomplish this task with the tools Paint does have?

View 12 Replies View RelatedI am creating a mask in Photo Paint and feathering the edges. Everything works fine up until I "Finish Editing" and the object is returned to Corel Draw. The mask has shifted up from the image and the wrong area is masked. If I save the image from Photo Paint and re-open it it's fine...just not when it's sent back to Corel Draw.

View 6 Replies View Relatedway to use the slice tool? So it like wraps around anything that has color, kind of like using star wand and then selecting inverse, but with the slice tool. Because I have a sprite sheet with a transparent background, and it has to have 200+ sprites and it would be much easier if there was some sort of way to do this.

I want to change the background color to a transparent one. I've tried using Color to Alpha but that makes the sprites themselves partially transparent which is not what I want. My second attempt was to use the fuzzy select tool to select all of the white bits and remove them. This doesn't really work either because on a non white background each of the sprites has a few whitish pixels around it's edge. So what I really want is a combination of the two, i.e. all of the white pixels are made completely transparent, and the whitish pixels on the edge of each sprite are made partially transparent, but the sprites themselves remain opaque.

I need to separate elements in a sprite sheets, such as this:
I hope that there is a method for this in Gimp so that:
1) The canvas of each layer/file will be the same
2) The elements in each file/Layer will be synced so that it looks good animation wise.
It's for Game Maker so if you've tried that and your experienced with Gimp then you should know what i need

Wanted: I want to edit that adjustment layer's mask in the editing area, viewing the mask as a black and white image.
Current procedure:
1. Create a new raster layer.
2. Change the Foreground Material to black.
3. Select the Fill tool.
4. Fill that new raster layer with black.
5. Move that black raster layer below the adjustment layer.
6. Select the adjustment layer.
7. Open the Properties of the adjustment layer.
8. Change the overlay colour to white.
9. Change the overlay opacity to 100%.
10. Select "Highlight Mask Area" in the Layers palette.
Questions:
1. Is there an easier way to do this?
2. If not, I've recorded a script that starts with the adjustment layer selected, but the script fails when attempting to move the new raster layer below the adjustment layer.
i am having a problem with the mask automatically deleting and making transparent the image when I load up a TGA. Simply deleting the mask doesn't bring back the parts of the image that are become transparent, the mask is deleting everything it touches upon loading of the image. Is this a setting somewhere I accidentally turned on? or a bug? PSP didn't used to do this when I first installed it. I have reset all the preferences, uninstalled/ reinstalled, but no fix.

I have tried Photoshop cc and found one bug. I can't paint on layer mask on 3d model. I am always use photoshop for texturing 3d characters, and i use a lot of layer masks. Now you made awesome feature when i can paint on 3d model with normal map. But i can't do anything because of the masks.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI bought PSP about a year or so ago, but grew frustrated with it and reverted back to Gimp. Now, however, I think I am ready to jump back.. and I encountered originally back then.
Basically, in some of the adjustment layers (Local Tone Mapping, Fill Light & Clarity) the mask doesn't work. When I click on the mask control the mask color in the dialog switches from white to black, but the screen doesn't revert back to underlying layer.This is very repeatable. It only happens in some AL, others like Layers and Curves work reliably.
I am on W7 x 64, PSP X4 v 14.2.01
I wonder if there is a way to do something like that in PSP: [URL].......

It only does it when dragging the mask from the right. Is this a known phenomenon? Can anything be tried to overcome it? I wondered it might be anything to do with graphics card compatibility ..or just my computer in some other respect.

to make the text image in the attached file. I want to apply a bevel to the text now that I have alpha masked it to get the gradient effect. But the bevel tool is treating the entire image (not just the text) as my selected object.
When I get done with the alpha mask, how do I get the text only as my selected object so that the bevel tool will apply the bevel to only the text?
I'm trying to get the text effect in this link: [URL] or something close to it. A previous post asked the same thing but the only answers he got was how to make it look gold, not how to do all the beveling, textures, sparkles, etc. For now though, all I'm wanting to do is achieve the bevel effect before I move on.
edit: the weird thing is, I can use the outline tool and it will apply only to the text. but when i use the bevel tool, it applies to the outer edges of the canvas.
I just installed PS CS6 and when I apply a layer mask to a layer I can paint black to hide the layer, but when painting white to restore the layer there is no effect. White paint will not restore the layer or modify the mask at all. The black paint works as usual to hide the layer, but how do I restore an area in a layer mask if not painting white?
View 2 Replies View RelatedI'm learning how to use a Gaussian blur mask to airbrush portraits, but one issue I keep running into is that whenever I paint close to a colour other than skin (e.g., glasses, hair, shirt) then the paintbrush picks up that colour and paints it on the skin. Even when I try a very small diameter of brush or increase the hardness to 100%, it still shows up. I'm not sure what I'm doing wrong.

The layer mask icon in the layers panel is added to the image, but it is still the rectangle with a white circle in it, not an icon with an all white or all black background. A problem has developed in my photoshop CS 6 64 bit on windows 7. I can't paint at full opacity in a layer mask. It is like an 75 % opacity brush. I have gone back to the default brushes soit is not the particular bursh. My brush settings are all at 100%, mask density is 100% , the blend mode is normal,-can't think of where else to look for the solution.The brush works just fine when I am not in a layer mask.I updated the graphic card driver and also the wacom intuos driver. It has to be somewhere in photoshop CS6 as when I go into my older version photoshop, cs5, the mask opacity works works at 100 % opacity.

Since the upgrade this has affected both my pc and laptop versions. I've read through the forums and see a lot of folks having issues with the blending mode set inccorrectly but this seems different.
