Paint.NET :: Create Illusion Of Highlight Marker?
Apr 30, 2013I have a .jpg image containing pixellated text. How can I highlight a word or create the illusion of using a highlighter marker on that word?

View 3 Replies View RelatedI copied pictures from hard drive to external hard drive and did a format on that hard drive. When I try to open pics it says that JPG marker is missing and some of them can't open at all. The ones I can open, they look distorted (shredded).
I tried several repairing programs but without success. Pics are valuable to me - half of life collected. And huge number of them.
Extension of images is not changed, file size is still normal, even (on opening folder) thumbnail show image as it should be for short period of time, but when image is fully loaded, thumbnail also shows distorted image.
I was wondering if there's any way to manipulate text to look like it was written in real life by a marker or a sharpie - both in writing and in color that will fit the lighting in the image.
View 2 Replies View RelatedEssentially, what I am looking for is the easiest way to label control lines and right-of-way lines in section view. In the past, I have used profile grade lines to do this - with a customized Marker Style for each alignment. On projects with 40+ alignments, this leads to a lot of blocks and marker styles to wade through. What I'd like to know - Is there a way to display a point name (read from a MarkedPoint) in section view using marker labels? Here's how I see it working (theoretically):
Define the following two point codes for use in my Code Set Styles: ALGN and ROW. Each would be assigned a Marker Label Style (let's call them A & R) in the Code Set. I'd like this label to display the point name in section view. For example, I'd like to insert a marked point on the centre line; Point Code = ALGN, Point Name = L100. However it doesn't seem that the Marker Label can read the "Point Name" field. Am I missing something really simple, or is this just not doable?
I know I've seen this somewhere here, but I can't find it by searching, and I've spend this morning and a while last afternoon trying to look for it in various sections...
There is a way by using the "single column marqee tool" to get a part of a pic to be "extended"/"drawn out"/"giving the illusion of speed"...or what eva'. I give U this...Now that SCMT (hehe..) is supposed to be transported to the right here in order to make that oval "stretch"...But HOW, god damn...?
This is prolly a basic knowledge, but I can't for the luv of it figure it out *puts tail between legs and awaits the ban*
C3D 2012 SP3..I want to label the subassembly I have created. It is easy enough to create the label style and apply it through the code set styles. I want to drag the labels for pavement depth, creating a leadered situation. Why does the program create multiple labels for each marker or link? Can this be limited to one lable for the marker and link?
View 2 Replies View RelatedI have taken a screenshot of a dialog in Windows and I want to manipulate it so that one of the controls on the dialog is highlighted. One effect that I have seen other screenshots take is to darken most of the screenshot, leaving the control to which the viewer's attention should be drawn in its original color. The image at [URL] .... is close to the effect I want to achieve -- darken some areas of the screenshot and leave other areas in their original color, thereby bringing attention to the undarkened areas.
How might I acheive this effect in Paint.NET? I am new to the app, so feel free to point me to tutorials if I need to learn about layers or some other aspects of the app.
I need to do an art project for school, and I want to make the Windows logo, but I suck. So I wanted to use a picture of it and change it to look like it was drawn by hand.

Maybe that's a thing only an html editor like Kompozer can do?
Found paint.net and it seems pretty easy for me to do basics so I like it! I'm now trying to edit an image.

The background is a gradient, a highlight is applied and then the text and image.
I'd like to replicate the background highlight in my image but do not know how!? How to create this effect?
How do I script Highlight Recovery which is found in the Raw Lab? I didn't see the option to even run highlight recovery in Edit mode. Of course my wife says if it doesn't jump out and bite me, I'd probably miss it.
View 3 Replies View RelatedWhen working with selections - particularly when adding multiple Magic Wand selections to build the selection required - it can be difficult to see clearly (from the shading and outlines which show the current selection) what is selected already and what isn't - particularly at some zoom levels and depending upon the colour(s) of the pixels that you are working with (blue-greys, for example).
My suggestion, therefore, is that in any of the Selection tools, while you are holding down either of the modifier keys Ctrl or Alt (which would modify the Selection Mode of any further selection to Add or Subtract mode), all currently selected pixels should be temporarily highlighted - overridden by a single colour (say, your current primary colour?) with the shading (and outlines?) that normally depict the currently selected pixels removed. This would make it easy to visually confirm exactly what pixels are currently selected.
Perhaps the removal of outlines ought to depend upon the magnification that is currently being used: at high magnifications where each pixel is depicted by a relatively large screen area and the outline can be easily distinguished from the interior of each pixel, then outlines (perhaps of your current secondary colour?) might work to define the selected area, but where pixels are very small it might be best to remove them.
Also, as a visual indicator/reminder of the modification which the modifier key will make to the effect of the next selection - and one that is slightly larger than the minuscule plus or minus sign that appears in the mouse pointer - would it be easy to temporarily override the Selection Mode symbol showing in the tool selection toolbar, with the symbol for the modified effect, whenever the modifier key is depressed? Not forgetting that this symbol ought to change again if the Right Mouse Button is used instead of the Left.
If the above is easy, then, in the Magic Wand tool, could the Flood Mode symbol in the tool selection toolbar be similarly temporarily overridden with the Global Flood Mode symbol, when the shift key is used to override Contiguous Flood Mode?

when we try to open it, we get the error - "Could not open X.jpg because an unknown or invalid JPEG marker type is found."
I tried reinstalling PS, as well as the twain scan driver. no luck.
we tried scanning on another computer. the fact that we get the same error makes me think it might be the photos themselves, but what could be in an image that would cause this sort of corruption?
it only happens with certain photos, but there doesnt seem to be anything particular about the photos that would make it happen.
I saved a lot of files in CS3 as a jpeg file with the proper extension. I upgraded to CS5 and now when I want ot open these files i sometimes get a message that " an invalid JPEG marker type is found". I can open hem in preview and in CS3 but not in CS5.

I believe I've found a bug with marker styles. I found this while editing a profile style. Under my profile style I have the Point of Vertical Intersection set to PI Point for the marker style.
Here is the screenshot of the marker style for the plan view.
Here is the screenshot of the marker style for the profile view with part of my profile shown next to it. Notice how the marker color is different in the profile than what it's set to. It's also not changing layers. It seems that the profile setting for the marker style display doesn't actually work. It takes the settings for the plan view and ignores the profile display style.

View 4 Replies View RelatedIn CS6, is it possible to navigate between clip markers in the timeline.
I'm talking about markers placed on actual clips, not markers placed on the sequence timeline.
I'd like to have a shortcut to navigate between clip markers but that shortcut seems to only work on markers placed on the sequences timeline, not on the clip.
Yes, you can open the clip in the source monitor, then jump to clip markers for that one clip but that's not what I'm after.
I want to mark my clips in the source monitor, bring all those clips to one timeline, then navigate between the markers placed on the actual clip.
I can add chapters to my video and then rename them to my liking. When I go to share and then automatic chapters, all of my names disappear and get renamed to the time marker. Is there anything I can do about this?
