View 6 Replieshow can I create a repeat pattern in CS5 when the pattern is staggered like bricks? Also, I am wanting to print this design on fabric but the lab keeps saying that when they repeat the pattern, there is a white border that shows up around it. I've searched everywhere. Here is a sample of the design I want to repeat.

Pressure sensitivity does seem to work--everything works perfectly with the exception of these bizzare lines!

How can I make it repeat seamlessly? Is there a plugin that automatically adjust brightness and contrast as well as overlapping?

s there a way to make patterns (repeat symbol) along paths? Something like using Artistic Media > Brush, but I'd like it to repeat symbol. It's possible and simple in illustrator, but in work I have to use Corel Draw.I need to make something like that: [URL] ..... can't use line style, because the pattern is too complex. Those symbols have to be smooth, so Foster's solution isn't that good...
View 10 Replies View RelatedI'm trying to make a repeat pattern tile (using CS5 on Windows 7), but when I crop the pattern, the expanded paths underneath become visible as on the flowers. This is what I did after creating the artwork:
Used the rectangle tool to make a box with fill/stroke directly on top of the artboard.. Select all > Expand (selecting stroke only, not fill) Deselect the cropping box and grouped the remaining objects. Reselected the cropping box and grouped all objects Pathfinder > Crop I'm guessing it may have something to do with the fact I used a gradient on the flowers but how to resolve it.
I created a pattern in illustrator, and then I created an object, and I wanted to fill half of the object with the pattern, so I used a clipping mask to do this.. however, now when i try to group everything together, the clipping mask in released and the pattern spills all over the artbaord... when i try to copy and paste into a new document, everything is pasted as white instead. When i try to merge the layers, the clipping mask is released...
How to keep the clipping mask from releasing.. Also, I tried rasterizing but that doesn't work either and it makes my shapes all rough and choppy!
I want to create a pattern that does not repeat (as a backrground). I've tried using swatches but this just repeats the same pattern. If you look at this example below, the pattern (behind the hands, log, etc) looks completely random. How would I go about recreating this effect? Would I need to draw the whole thing manually?

I was trying to use array but the value (tread going) stays the same... So I need something thath would work just like divide command.
Eventually I need a block with different tread numbers which will be just a matter of creating a few visibility states
I am making an adjustment to my "LOGO" for business. I am trying to recolor the bottom half of a circle, that has a thick border, split in half by TWO colors.
When I enlarge picture to 2400%< i see all kinds of "shades" of colors that line be more "Definitive" ..I am guessing?
When i try changing the color fron a "TAN" color to a "DARK RED" , then Zoom out, the lines are VERY CHOPPY and "SQUARED".
QUESTION:
Is there a way to create a PERFECT LINES on a circle, by using a specific tool, or i have to do a lot guessing and do "FILL-IN" colors to get the line more definitive?
I am a rookie at Paint.net
Any way to get a scale bar/title block text to reflect plotting at half size?
We use the common (24x36) sheet size for all projects, but when plotting we send out half size (12x18) as well. This means the scale bar reading 1"=40' is no longer correct. It should read 1"=20'. I would like to automate this.

When the modify dimensions box is open, the 'roundoff' menu gives me 1/16", 1/8" etc, even when DECIMAL is selected as the unit format.
This wasn't happening earlier, not sure what's going on. [in fact in a solved problem from earlier, a colleague found a drawing that had units set to millimeters, had its insertion scale set to inches! Different computer, so not related].

I can use several tools including move, magic wand, paint bucket, crop. However, I cannot use the eraser, paintbrush, healing tool, clone stamp (which is the one I desperately need to use) or many others.
I must have accidently hit something and changed things.
text- learning center says- choose color from foreground pallette. Choose color from background pallette.
type your text....etc.
My foregorund pallette is X'd out (i.e. a circle with a slash through it). I have this also when trying todraw a poly like a circle or rectangle.
Also background eraser does not erase fully anymore.
I've been using PSP 7 for many years and over the last year or so I can't seem to get a straight line to show up using the Draw Tool (I think the kids may have messed with a setting).
In the Tool Options I select Single Line, a width of 4, solid line and anti-alias. Create as vector and close path are left unchecked.
The problem is that whether I use my left or right mouse button to drag the line, the line does not show up, it just disappears (I'm using colors different from the background, of course).
About 10-12 years ago, I had a simple version of Corel Draw or some similar name. Then I got involved with Adobe products. But it is nearly impossible to draw simple straight lines with Adobe! The Corel program I used to have enabled a straight line to be drawn by clicking on one spot, then holding some button down (don't remember which) and clicking on another spot. Viola!
So my question is: "Is it simple to draw straight lines in Paint Shop Pro? If not, what program do I need to purchase.
I switched from MSPaint over to Paint.NET at the behest of members of my main forum, alternatehistory.com, as they find it much easier to use when editing maps.
One feature that MSPaint has that Paint.NET doesn't that would make it extremely convenient is the ability to use the pencil tool to draw short straight lines in any of the 8 main directions by holding SHIFT when drawing. While it is fairly easy to assign hotkeys on MSPaint and while Paint.NET already has them for pencil/line tools, it is often more convenient to be able to do seamlessly, especially when I'm editing many lines at once (like coasts and whanot).
I checked through the first 20 pages or so in this board and didn't find anything similar.
Is there a way to get some straight edges if an image rotated a few degrees?
View 13 Replies View RelatedI do perspective drawing for interior designers and do the coloring in Photoshop. Think of old fashioned painting with a brush/copic marker against a ruler to get a straight line, but with varying thickness or opacity. I would like the same effect in Photoshop.
The closest that I have come is to press Shift before the brush stroke. That constrains the stroke, makes a very neat line AND allows me to vary the line/brush thickness as I paint.
Often the lines may need to be at an arbitrary angle which is NOT 90 or 180 degrees. The only way I know of for getting that brush stroke in the correct position is to make sure that each stroke is on a separate layer. Select the stroke/transform/rotate. Quite a few steps as opposed to the one it takes to draw the line in the correct position and angle with a brush/ copic marker on paper.
This becomes time consuming and difficult once you have many lines to paint and if you need to be accurate (as with perspective drawing). If you are working on a very large canvas the point of rotation can sometimes be very far from where you are working (i.e. on a vanishing point) and difficult to see without a lot of Zooming and moving around on the canvas.
To Stroke a path with the brush gives an unrealistic and even line thickness which does not look hand painted. Using a ruler while drawing on a Cintiq? That may give the desired effect and be much quicker than selecting and rotating.
