I have installed version 3.5.10 and I am working on a project where I need to overlay gridlines onto a photo. I have tried using the gridline feature, but that does not work, and I have watched a video tutorial which has good information but the tutorial was for version 3.5.8. The features that were in the tutorial seem not to be available to me with the version that I am using.

Yes, i saw the command draw line at an angle but i find it a little bit complicated for a simple task like that. I am sure autodesk have a simplest solution about that.
If i am already at the draw line mode and i can easy catch the tracking perpendicular to previous segment but if i want to start from another line and go perpendicular i cannot make the tracking work.
In Photo-Paint X5, there is an option that allows you to turn off the pixel grid. It's located under Tools -> Options -> Document -> Grid -> Pixel Grid. If I uncheck the "Show pixel grid at 800% and higher zoom", then the pixel grid is turned off as expected. However, the next time I open another document, the pixel grid gets turned right back on. How do I make it so the pixel grid is always off? I've tried making it fully transparent, but the transparency resets each time I open a new image as well.

See image below. I have a 4x4 grid set up and am using a 4pixel square Paint Tool. I click Snap to Grid and it's always off centre. I want these blue squares to fit inside the squares on the grid.

View 3 Replies View RelatedWe upgraded to x6.1 and are having some issues. I have X5 and X6 installed on my machine. When using X6 and you add a new page to the document, then publish a PDF. The PDF will show grid lines on the new pages. This happens with new docs and previously created docs when we add new pages. Also, on the new pages, you can't disable the printing in the object manager.
Second problem, when you have a bitmap in your document and click on it, Photo Paint is available. Only the trace option. Edit Bitmap is grayed out on the Property Bar and not available when you right click the image. I have to open Photo Paint and copy the image into it. There are three of us having the same problems.

I have a grid set up. say 10X10 each. I then fill in each square of the grid. I get rid of the grid, left with 10X 10 squares next to each other separated by 1 pixel then I do an outline to quickly get rid of the spaces between each square.
Now I I have 12 pixel wide line, now I would like to do an Inline (negative outline) to reduce the line back down to 10 pixel (or less ) wide line.
Since it is not exactly a straight line, but rather than a zig zaging line I can't exactly use the pixel selection tool.
I'm trying to enlarge a 6x8 inch black and white line drawing jpg file to about 36x48..(actually a little smaller so it will fit on a 3x4 cork board) How can I do this in Corel Paint (or Draw) so that we end up with clean (and blurry) lines ?

For some purposes, you can find a way around this, but it is a pain when working on a project that requires perfect precision.
The topic has been brought up before, but I'm hoping to hear of any news on the possibility of implementing it. I don't assume there has been made any plugins to cater this need since earlier posts on the matter, so I'm hoping to persuade developers to implement the feature in a new version of paint.net instead.
If you need to know more specifically what I'm looking for, then it's basically what you have in Adobe Illustrator or any decent 3D modelling software you will ever come across. It would work pretty much exactly like the grid already in place, except you would not be limited to working only with individual pixels, but rather groups of pixels as you zoom further out. The grid would preferably have thicker lines every 5, 10 or 15 lines, etc. for user to position the various elements.
I'm using Paint.NET 3.5.8 on Windows 7 SP1 64-bit.
While editing small (16 x 16) images, I noticed that Paint.NET used a grid with a width of 2 pixels. Selection rectangles snap to this grid, as do paste operations.
How can I specify the grid width or disable this snap to grid effect altogether?
I've seen this question answered before, but I followed the criteria; 99 transparency 100 opacity, but nothing is working. I have a tablet set up, and on my first laptop, the pressure worked fine in Corel.
I got a new laptop and downloaded Corel again, but it doesn't work now. I've downloaded the driver from the internet, but again, no luck.? Pictured are the different attempts of pressure, each the exact same.
What format would I need to save a scanned in black and white line drawing so that I can color it in using the Fill function (like a comic book)? I used to do it with earlier versions on PhotoPaint (6 and 9) but haven't done it in a while and now cannot find the right format.
Now what happens is when I use the fill function the whole image turns to the selected color, it wont recognize the black lines as borders.
I had Corel Photo Paint v.9, have used it for years in addition to DRAW, but recently my computer died and I had to replace it. I installed it on the new machine, which is running Windows 7 Pro 64 bit, but the line tool suddenly started acting nuts. I would move the cursor to where I wanted to start the line and start the line with a mouse click. The line would then dart half-way down the screen and would be nowhere near the cursor's cross hairs making it difficult to work on images.
So, I figured it was a compatibility issue so I bought Corel Technical Suite X6 and have installed it. The line tool does exactly the same thing. The position of the line is nowhere near the crosshairs of the cursor. Is this a new "feature" or is this a bug? If the former, how can I get it to work like I am accustomed to working (I have used DRAW and Photopaint since the mid 1990's, using version 5.0). If the latter, how can I fix it?
Exactly what the topic title says. My goal is to draw a custom map with pinpoint accuracy compared to what I envision it as. So, I want to use a grid that I can fill in the individual sections of to create this image, and then remove the grid afterwards when I finish, or at least make it completely invisible.
Is there anyway to accomplish that?
My text was working fine til today, now when I try typing text, it is showing as a blank box, until I click outside of it, then it shows as a blue dotted line on the text. Then when I send it to the laser, it is not there!( laser engraver or the printer). I just want the text to be normal, like it was 2 days ago! Before, I could click anywhere, type, and it showed up with no problems!

From that building section I created a callout for a stair section detail. In the callout view, some grid lines appear but not all grid lines appear. When I select Align to Pixel Grid in the Transform Panel, I see line weight changes occur. I try to change the line weight in the either the Stroke or Appearance panel and it will not change, no layers locked, how to change the line weight?

View 5 Replies View RelatedSomething has happened and now I cannot select grid lines in curtain walls. I can tab to highlight the grid line (dashed blue line) and click once. This used to make the grid line a more solid blue and witness line dimensions appeared. Now the cursor becomes a "move cursor" (four arrows), the grid line highlight disappears and there are no witness lines.
Nothing is pinned. The vertical grid pattern is not fixed. I've restarted Revit and I still can't select a grid line like before.
This problem started when I tried to change a grid line in a curtain wall that I forgot was part of a group. It let me select the grid line and when I changed the witness line dimension value there was an error message with no information except for entity ID and a cancel button. After that I could no longer select grid lines in this project. If I copy and paste a curtain wall from the project to a default (see attached) I cannot select there either. I can still select grid lines in other older projects, however.

I'm having a bit of trouble using a curtain wall BIM model that I downloaded from a manufacturer's web site.
It seems like the vertical mullions are not centered on the grid lines; one side of the mullion is 1 3/16" from the grid line while the other is 1 13/16" away. If you look at the mullion in plan, you'll see the same issue. If you look at the profile rfa file, it appears that the centerline is properly located and locked, it's just in the project file where it's off.
If I select the mullion in the browser the right-click, Make Element Editable is grayed out.
If I select the mullion in the drawing area, un-pin it and then right-click, Edit Family is grayed out.
If i select the mullion in the drawing area then click Edit Type, the Type Properties dialog box shows the two parameters in the Dimensions group, "Width on side 2" and "Width on side 1", that are uneven by the same amount that the mullion is off of the grid line. I suspect that this the issue, but these are both grayed out and I can't locate their origin. If I duplicate the mullion, those parameters are still grayed out.I can save the profile, but not the mullion, which is showing the issue and contains the parameters that I want to change. How I can select and edit the mullion?
I'm trying to create an album design that has a grid effect with all the images I have. But how to put specific dimensions on each layer..I've tried the image size option but its not working - do I need to free transform and try to figure it out dimensions free handed?? Surely not?

adding a page baseline grid! I love it, but I have one problem with it. For example I set the baseline grid to 13 pt, i have text with line spacing specified to 13 pt. I right-click the paragraph text box and select "Align to baseline grid". Then the text surely is aligned to the grid, BUT the lines are spaced to every other line, instead of every line.

View 3 Replies View RelatedI am using live paint to paint cartoon character illustrations. The artwork is brought into Illustrator CS3 and live traced. Then I convert it to a live paint group and use the paint bucket to fill. Everything looks fine no matter how much I zoom in. If I bring the AI file into Photoshop CS6 I can see a thin white line between the black line art and the fill. This is most noticeable where black meets black. I can also see this sometimes in file previews while browsing through files. If the white line cannot be seen in Illustrator is the file ok? I did just upgrade to CS6 if that would make a difference.
