If I have a picture that is partly distorted by a color filter, is there any way I can negate the color distortion? For example, if I had a picture like this:
where I can use the sky or grass or bricks as reference points, how would I cancel out the color and make the whole picture look normal?
I'm having problems with the oil paint filter in CS6. It runs and looks fine while in the filter, but once I commit the changes and go back to Photoshop, there are one to three bright squares of fluorescent green (sometimes pink, I think) overlaying parts of my image. I have a Radeon 7450 graphics card and Windows 8. Have drawing mode set to basic because of the flickering issues.

Is there a plugin that will allow you to do a post-processing to a photo like this?
I have a digital camera by Pentax called the Optio. It has one of the best features ever which lets you take a standard picture the go in to options and choose to filter out any color except shades of blue or shades of red or shades of green, thus everything else goes black and white. Can someone help figure out how to do that in photoshop?
View 1 Replies View RelatedI just want to CG my drawing, and usually the way I do this is by adding a filter called "Poster edges" to my drawing. I then spend a while cleaning up the drawing and making the poster edges look nice and styleized from there.
The problem is that filters from the filter gallery seem to only change the color to black. I really just want to change everything that gets "Poster edged" to a brownish color.
I too am getting the oil paint error when I try to use the filter. I have a new Toshiba L675 with Windows 7.

I have the latest graphics driver software. I have the latest update for CS6. I have followed various community support recommendations to no avail. In the Advanced Graphics Processor settings (preference, performance) only "Basic" is available and I can't select (grayed out) "Use Graphics Processor to Accelerate computation" and can't select "use OpenCL".

I have a picture that was sent to me from someone to remove the effects of a filter. I can plainly see an area in the picture where the colors are not natural to the picture. My question is how do I remove the extra colors without messing up what was behind them? It appears someone used a blur or smudge filter in this one area.

For instance, I have an image what has a lot of #3388D9. I would like to simply remove ALL pixels with this color, and not just re-color them, but remove them from the image.

I wante to use the color halftone filter to create a black and white halftone pattern but everytime i use the color halftone filter to get the results i want, nothing happens. When i click on the vector the halftone filter appears in the appreances panel but the effect does not show on the image on my artboard. why cant i get the filter to show?

i noticed i have a lot of scanned photos/slides that don´t need to be in 16 bit TIFF format.8 bit is enough for them and would save me a ton of HDD space (even when most of them are LZW compressed).
but i need a way to find them in my 80000 images database.so that i can make a further selection which of these 16 bit images i can convert to 8 bit.
When I click on the oil paint filter it barely opens and the disappears.
View 8 Replies View RelatedI replaced a standard hard drive with a new SSD drive and did a fresh install of Windows 7 and all of my programs. I made sure all Win 7 updates, program updates and drivers are current. The good news is Photoshop CS6 Extended loads much faster. The bad news is now Photoshop crashes when I attempt to use the Oil Paint filter. The only hardware change is the new SSD, I haven't changed any video devices and I never had any issues running the Oil Paint filter before I swapped out hard drives and did the software reinstallations. I've tried the OpenGL Drawing Mode in basic, normal and advanced, and still get crashes when attempting to use oil paint.

I am getting. I'm running Win7 64bit, photoshop cs6 (also 64bit), have an i7 2600 and 16GB of RAM and an ati 5870 card running the latest drivers (12.8)
So, the operation could not be completed whenever I try to run the oil paint plugin and when I try to use the iris blur, my canvas goes blank. If I pull it out of docked mode and put it in a window, it's still blank until I move the window about and I can see my image, but as soon as I stop moving the window around, it's blank again.
I'm using the oil paint filter and for some reason it doesn't turn out when I use it. It doesn't seem to be an issue for very very small sized images, if I make the photo smaller it will work just fine. However, for any regular sized images I get this result below. I just got a new computer, so i'm not sure what the issue could be?

The problem with Lightroom was NO support for PNG files.. and I have 10's of thousands of them. Many of my images need such a noise filter, and the stock one isn't so hot.

I live in Europe so that's PAL. But I also want to make DVD's for my family in the USA, and that is NTSC. I know I can choose to burn a DVD in PAL or NTSC at the DVD factory.
What I do NOT understand is: When I want to edit my video files I can choose for PAL or NTSC at Settings>Preferences>edit color filter. What does this setting do?
Also when I check Project Properties it always says PAL, even when I choose NTSC at Settings>Preferences>edit color filter. How I can edit video files and then burn DVD's in Pal & NTSC format without having to make separate editing for both formats.
i sketch a people face with pencil tools, create another color layer to color the face.
I use a paint brush to paint the face on that color layer, but when i try to apply water color filter the face color turn black color.

The games allows to generate a TGA file called Tracemap, which is used by the game to detect which places are outside or inside, for precipitations and artillery. It is commonly used as a base to make command maps, such as:

To obtain a comparable result, I have decomposed the making in 4 steps (4 layers):
- The terrain (background);
- The buildings (in shade of grey);
- The roads (a tool drawing white lines bordered with black and doing the junctions automatically would be neat, if it ever exists...?);
- The "foldings" (that's the Reverso translation, I think it can be guessed from the pic).
So, I exported the terrain in a separated map, compiled it, generated a Tracemap, and I have it in GIMP now. I would like GIMP to detect and do some lines between the different levels like Paint Shop Pro seems to do:

This way, I can draw the height lines accurately, and then color (I already made the palette with required colors); Does this exist in GIMP? Tried few filters but never came close to something like in the Warchest forums.
If it isn't possible I will do it manually ^^'
