View 6 RepliesI looked at most of the editing software out there and they all seem to have the same type of format. The only thing I see different is more bells and whistles such as tools (that you probably will never use) and more plugins and the cost.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI am looking to create a simple simulation of a character that walks at a constant velocity. The catch is that I want this character to always walk away from their shadow. I am using MR Sun so the idea is to have the character always looking at and walking towards the sun no matter the time of day. The animation takes place only during the day so I'm not concerned about any problems that would occur at night.
For the initial test it may be simpler if I remove the character and just use a "stand in" object to work out the kinks. I'm not worried about trying to use footsteps because that sounds messy. Once I have the solution I can hopefully just drop in a biped with a looping .bip
I am looking for that chair is too old/paint falling off/grass overgrown effect. The whole look that the picture is acient and fantasy liek. How do I achieve this? Maybe any links to specific tutorials?

I've tried creating brushes and stamp patterns but neither does the simple task that I'm looking for. I just want to be able to place a full image the way you would place any shape with a paint brush.
In Photoshop 8 (CS2) a typed character doesn't display until another character is typed or until I leave the text layer.

How (and if it is easy) to scan in a base/master map map (for college projects) and then use PAINT.NET to manipulate another outline (secondary) map as a transparency over the base/master map:
1. Creating the background of the outline (secondary) map as transparent, leaving lines or points
2. Stretching the transparent outline (secondary) map over the base/master map so it fits as close as possible
3. Then after creating a number of transparent outline (secondary) maps create a slide-show of the seconday maps over the master map
4. If PAINT.NET cannot do this with ease any pointers what will?

1. Can I create subdirectories, (e.g. one subdirectory for each plugin author), within the effects directory; and then place the plugin dll files within their coresponding subdirectory ?
OR
2. Should/MUST the effects directory contain nothing but the individual dll files ? No subdirectories? No Readme (or other txt files) ? No nothing else but dll's ?
3. Can I create a subdirectory within the Paint.Net directory (e.g. "instructions") where I can save/store any saved instructions, comments on plugin use, explainations, etc. (similar to the way I might put explanitory comments within the body of source code) ? OR Should any such (selfcreated) directory/folder be kept in my own personal files ? (i.e. would the placement of any such file within the Paint.Net directory interfere with the functioning of Paint.Net ?
For my Kenwood receiver splash screen, I require an 800x480 16-bit BMP file with RGB vales of R5,G6 and B5. It seems that in paint.net I can create an 8-bit, a 24-bit or a default, with no other user-selectable parameters.
View 4 Replies View RelatedHow do you create a watermark in Paintshop pro x3 that you can use over and over for multiple photos? I've read some articles out there but it seems it's just specific to a photo itself, is there a way to create one and which settings should be used so once it gets added to a photo, it's seamless. Do you create a new image? if so, what is the preset, characteristics and so on? Here is one article I've read: [URL] ...

I would like to gather some photos from different files in a new tray so I can manipulate these photos together. I have tried to figure this out and I think I have done it before. But for whatever reason now I cannot use the add tray button nor can I do it on the organizer button at the upper left corner of the tray. When I click on more options none of the tray buttons are highlighted, so I cannot get it to create or delete or rename a tray.

How would you go about creating a Cattle Brand? I'm trying to create something simple using the letters "dP" to produce something along these lines:
I want to have a textured background that resembles hair (does not need to change shade, though) and a way to make a rough looking outline for the letters.
Is there tutorial or any way to create background that same or alike in the picture?.
Plugins or what the background style called?
how to create a perfect circle, but how do I create that circle perfectly around a certain point or around the center of my square image (whose coordinates should be 50% of width/50% of height of my square image).
My second question is rather stupid.. Since this program was created to be a substitute for MS Paint and also has .net in the name... but will there ever be a linux version? I firmly believe that PDN would be more than capable competition to gimp.
I've been using Blender a lot recently, and, not wanting to front the money to buy a Normal Map generation program or (oh dear) use GIMP of all things, I decided to try creating a Normal Map in Paint.NET.
What is a Normal Map, you ask? Normal Maps are images that are used in conjunction with a texture to give the texture false 'depth', allowing, say, light to shine onto the bricks in a texture while not getting into the cracks between, or making light come from a specific side.
The original texture:
The normal map:
The result:
Not the best, as you can clearly see.
How could I make improvements? Is this even practical?
I would be possible to create a plugin that could create a line with different width. Photoshops pen tool where you can fill stroke, and simulate pressure.
It would not have to be an advanced plugin, it would only require 2 features:
1. Max width (the maximum width in the middle of the line)
2. And of course would let you decide where the line should be.
So the plugin should create something like this:

I'm curious to know if there is a way to create slanting text with this program. I'm basically trying to create fliers for my band, and would like to have some neat text effects in there and not just have plain old 2D text.
