View 4 RepliesI am new to Gimp and would like to ask if there is a way to make a good worn out effect more or less like this on a black logo. The problem is that they are using a fork for it and I am a student and can't afford a fork.
The aim is to make a black print on transparent background with transparent scratched "holes". Are there any tips how to do this?
Wondering if anyone has tips on how to make a hiking boot worn out with mud on it, and look as though you "hiked it out" I have all the tools Adobe CS suite, Macromedia MX suite, Corel Suite. Any ideas out there?

i mean like i want an worn red cross that is like scratched/worn/faded that sorta deal.
i have photoshop CS.
I wanted to know how to achieve this effect:
You see the circle? I've seen it done before. Where you can make your design look worn out especially with the worn out vinyl circle. I remember getting a catalog from VEER once and some designer had done two sleeves like that.
doing is applying a faded edge type effect to some images, the effect I'm after is used on the following website
not sure if this was done in photoshop or not but if it were to be, how would one do it?
To me it looks like layers, transparency etc by placing the worn edge on top of any image, just want to be able to create the worn edge in the first place.
recently i've seen a technique that gives the appearance of worn or crumpled, aged paper - like a poster that's been shoved in the corner for a few years.

View 3 Replies View RelatedI've got a client who is asking for something I can't figure out how to do. She wants me to create lettering for her logo where the lettering is made of stripes. Not like masking, but imagine that toothpaste aquafresh where you squeeze it out and it's striped. So for example, we need to do an S in a circle and she wants the S to look like it's made of stripes, as if you squeezed toothpaste out of a toothpaste tube which was striped in the shape of a letter S.
Any ideas?
My problem is we need to have the lettering on the concave side of the sign. How would I make the flat lettering I have in the elevation shot follow the curve of the sign in the plan view?
I usually do most of my autocad drawing in 2d, I've done a few things in 3d but I'm not that experienced. I say that because I was thinking maybe I could make a 3d model of the flat elevation shot and bend it into radius I need.
I'm making a drawing in Inventor and I have several views and details and sections. Throughout making the drawing, I've created and deleted views. Whenever I do this, say the first view I placed was 'L', and then I delete view 'L', and make a new view. Inventor automatically labels this view 'M' instead of 'L', even though I don't have an 'L' view. This has caused me to have big gaps in the lettering of my views. Is there a way to "reset" the lettering so Inventor goes back through and re-letters everything starting from 'A'?

I have a png file of the painted aircraft with rivets shown. I want to add registration numbers ( solid color fonts) BUT I want to see the rivets underneath.
When I just use standard Text tool over the background with the rivets, they disappear.
i love the paint splatter in the background! I was wondering if there is a plugin or a brush that can supply that look.

After I import a .3ds model, then select the brush tool, the paint either seems to mirror itself on the model or paints the entire y axis. What is happening: If I dab my brush on the model a dot appears symmetrically on both sides of the model. If I use one small stroke the entire y axis on the model gets painted. However I have not found much discussion of the issue I'm having. Most of what I'm seeing says Import > Paint.I'm using Photoshop CC
