an ordinary line and makes it sketchy looking. For example, if you had a clean outline of a piece of art, if applied, it would look like the image was sketched with a pen or pencil rather than a smooth line?

I've been using max for 9 years, 7 of them professionally..I’m having an issue where in this scene (and only this scene with these objects) when I try to do anything that affects movement in the y axis objects are jumping around as if snap to grid is on.Moving in the X or Z axis is fine though, and moves perfectly smoothly.
I’ve tried a fresh scene (where everything works great) then merging my objects in (where everything gets jumpy again) I've tired restarting max and my computer.this seems to troll me every couple of months, I assume Im activating some sort of convenient feature, but can't figure out what it is.
how I can put a fake puddle of urine under this guy.

We saw an option for Sketchy in the dropdown menu but I can't find any information about how to use it, or how to change the settings, or even what the intent is for it. When we have selected it and viewed in Preview it shows up as a mass of lines too dense to be usable.Â

How do people add shadows between each paper? For example, in this pack - there are 5 papers displayed.
I see a "new printing UI" is scheduled for v4, so maybe this will be included in that anyway, but a quick request: it'd be great of PDN would honour the default paper size when printing. I currently need to change from Letter to A4 (which isn't even on the "most popular" list, so it needs a further click to choose "other" first), despite this being the default paper size for the printer selected.
Either using the default paper size of the selected printer, or failing that, remember the previously selected paper size in PDN would save a good amount of frustration for those of us in Europe where A4 is the usual paper size ;-)
I just printed out some PNG images on A3 paper, and then someone told me TIFF is a better format to print images, so if I go in PaintNET and convert the image to TIFF, and print it out, will it look slightly with higher quality than the PNG print out?

And yes, the image is 300dpi, no worries about all that pixels per inch stuff, it does not matter, it's all about format.
It was basically a woman character crouching down looking backwards, but she was just outlined with extra detail here and there and colourful black hair, I would call it being "sketched". Anyhow I think it looks really cool and I'd like to do it with some of my photo's,

I see PhotoShop can resize the canvas using a "relative" percentage and I am wondering if it's possible to do in PhotoPaint using a script or macro, as I don't see resizing as a percentage as an option.

The problem comes when printing, when the page is printed I get a 1cm margin down the left side of the paper every time even though the preview print does not show this 1cm margin.

View 13 Replies View RelatedIt happens to me about 50 % of all time when I'm using the Paper Size dialog to crop an image:
No matter which alignment I select in the Placement drop-down box, PhotoPAINT uses the opposite direction.
This doesn't always happen, but it happens about every second time I use that dialog (and I use it often). It seems the error occurs randomly, probably not initializing some internal program memory location correctly.

I reset preferences using the shift key and the instructions on the cited web site. neither worked I also restarted the computer. If I open paint shop X5 the paper edges can be seen behind the image but if you look at the enclosed screen print you can see paper edges are not visible in paint shop pro X6.

View 7 Replies View RelatedI thought that I would take a shot at a possible reason why cropping with the paper size dialog would give different results which appear to be random.Â
1. The dialog opens with the programmer assuming the user will make the paper size larger than the image. He takes the difference between the paper size’s lower right corner and the image’s lower right corner and subtracts the two. That’s a positive number since the paper size is larger than the image. It’s added to all pixel positions in the image which brings the image to the lower right corner of the paper.
2. Now consider what will happen if the paper size is smaller than the image.
Scenario 1: The user picks paper size before position. The difference between the lower right corners is now a negative number. Using negative numbers to reorder the image pixels will incorrectly display the upper right corner of the image in the canvas.
Scenario 2. The user picks position before paper size. The lower right corners of the image and paper are set equal. Reducing the paper size now leaves the lower right corner of the image to be displayed.

Thus the display of the corner of the image appears to be random. However, it’s following the orders given by the user. Without doubt, there are other possible scenarios for this behavior.
way to make a CAD drafted plan look like it was drawn by hand? Or is there a way to use a photoshop brush to draw a line that looks like the pressure was varied along the length of the line, giving it some artistic character?
I've heard of people using Illustrator for this type of thing, but all I have is photoshop. I'm on a quest to make CAD drawings look hand-drawn.
I use the vanilla app and do vanilla things. Lately I have been interested in using some turn of the century public domain line illustrations, but often they are found with yellow backgrounds from the old paper.
I can knock the blotchy yellow out with levels and such, but I think there is probably a way to remove it instead of washing it out. I see that there are a few plug ins out there that might do the job, but I don't know if they are updated to work with the newest program on a 64 bit Win 7 machine.
Bonus question: Since some of the drawings are not the best quality, so vectorizing them has potential. I have played around with the trace bitmap tool on Inkscape and it is cool, but is it the best way? Is there a way to clean up a raster image without manually doing cleanup, or a plug in that lets it scale up?
I took a close look at the splash screen of CS4 and I discovered a really strange name: Xingming Jia.
I know a little bit Chinese but I have to admit I am still quite poor on that. However, I would translate this name literally like this:
Xingming: “family name and given name”
Jia: “are fake”
So the guy is named “Family name and given name are fake”? No way! To me this sound like a typical fake name that people use to fill in the any online address hunter form.
What I'm trying to do is, I have some photos taken by a non-professional photgrapher in a non-professional setting. But, I want to take the subject in the photo, and place them into an artifical background that looks like a photo studio or professional photographer's setting.
View 4 Replies View RelatedI made orange letters in a font sized 142. But when I made a new layer and then made white letters to put on top of the orange ones--I also use font size 142, but it was smaller than the orange font. So I couldn't put it one top of the other letters for the 3-D look.
It's close, but not quite close enough to fit as it should. Do the differing colors make a difference in how the font of the same size is different? Or is it using different layers?
Currently I show the smallest font size as being 8. Is there any way to get a smaller font? Sometimes it just isn't small enough for what I want to do.
The other thing is that in some cases.. I need a size in between the two that are listed.. for instance 72 is too small and 84 is too big, say to match an existing font that I am trying to match.
Can I get rid of the thousands separator in the Resample and Paper Size dialog boxes?

I'm still having massive issues trying to figure out what fonts to use, at first I was all for the new method of applying text to the image but now I'm finding it a real pain. I have over 1500 fonts to browse when trying to create text. Without a preview mode where I can scroll through the fonts, the entire process turns into a tedious nightmare.
Is there a plug in or add on... or a undocumented method to get the X2 functionality of being able to scroll through the fonts and see how it looks on the text?
If not, I am uninstalling X3 and either moving to photoshop or going back to X2. Its too much of a pain to keep clicking back and forth font by font - one by one.
When I put orange gabriola font, 144 size, Bold effect on a canvas--and then try to make it 3-D by adding white. The white is smaller --not the same size as the orange--yet everything else is the same!
I tried measuring them together by putting the white behind the orange (it is smaller!) by going back to a file I'd resized before making the white (in case I did) --same thing. Made new layer, duplicate layer, put the active layer below, above..nothing would make them the same size!
Not that the actual letters are so badly different is size, but the spacing appears to be wider in the orange than in the white--which means that the white doesn't fit on the orange.
I need to get my manuscript published. And after all I've had to do to learn to get as far as I have, I sure don't feel like having to repeat if for one contrary white font!
Im trying to create a logo similar to the Harley Logo for a friend's wedding. Their last name begins and ends with "S" and Im trying to replicate the "S" in the Harley Logo.

If I copy and paste the Harley "S" on the right side of "Cycles".. it's a no brainer. If I copy and paste the "s" in Cycles and try to move it to the left for the first letter in their last name.. I can't seem to bend it the right way so the bottom of the S follows the curvature of the shield like the other one..
Most of the designs require some unique font to get the desired effect. Most likely, we'd search the web for one, download it, use it and discard it. We don't wanna keep all these single-use fonts installed. It would be great if we can load a font in to PDN by just browsing for it using a file dialog. I think Photoshop lets you drag and drop a font to its main window and till let you use it for that session. When you exit the application, the font is unloaded.
Can this be supported? Of course, there is a workaround: Use a font manager app. But, I think it's a pretty good feature to have in a image editor never the less
I just downloaded paint and am giving it a whirl at my company. We're trying to move away from old programs we still somehow use. My question is if I have a piece of line artwork that's 7x 8.5, the standard font size we use is 12. Yet when I type it into the artwork, it looks like it's size 6 comparatively.
