I am trying to loop/iterate through all layers, determine if it's a "text-layer", if it is, set it's opacity to 0.This is what I have so far:
var iapp = new Illustrator.Application();
var openoptions = new Illustrator.OpenOptions();
var idoc = iapp.Open("c:\myFile.pdf", Illustrator.AiDocumentColorSpace.aiDocumentRGBColor, openoptions);
Illustrator.Layer mainlayer = idoc.Layers["Layer 1"];
[code]....
I am aware of regex and several other string methods, but have not seen a built in way of checking against multiple patterns allowing for asterisks.

I was wondering what's the easiest way to set up a first person camera? I have a rigged character dancing around and I've tried to link a free camera to the characters head but the camera doesn't move with the character.

View 5 Replies View RelatedI very often need to take the background away from a person the only examples show a solid color background. That is not what I need to know. What I need to do is take a person out of a background without having them look like helmet heads. So often I receive camera-ready ads with photographs that have been revised. The creator uses the lasso tool and cuts a person away from the background and the head looks like a helmet. Does CS4 (or, for that matter, CS3) have an easier way to do that as compared to CS2?

The source photos are all different sizes. Is there a faster/easier method of producing something like this rather than resizing every image to fit a predefined size and then manually placing them on separate layers?
When creating movies from video taken I add both background music, narration and sometimes sound effects.
When using background music in particular I prefer to reduce the volume during narration so that the narration can easily be heard. I have been doing that using the 'rubber band' by trial and error - I reduce the volume by 'pulling' the 'rubber band' down a little and then preview that section of the video to check if the volume level is correct/to my satisfaction. I note that during the process of adjusting sound level with the 'rubber band' that there is a sound level 'meter' (in decibels) but I don't seem to be able to use it. Is this (adjusting the sound level in decibels) the method I should be using and if so how is it used?
What is the best method to use when adjusting sound levels in the middle of a sound 'clip'?

The text cursor disappears when I try to enter it into the rectangle and when I place it on the edge of the rectangle, it rurns into a slanted "A" and allows texting on the border of the rectangle. View 1 Replies View RelatedI thought this was going to be a piece of cake in the new Illustrator CC but I am having a few unanticipated issues:)I need to create some vector tire images with different edges, such as the top one in the image below.So I thought this would be SO easy by simply creating a pattern brush in Illustrator and then using that for the outside. So I created the shape you see in the middle image below and created a pattern brush with this shape.I then created an ellipse and used the new brush for the outline.
All of those are open paths...it has taken the shape and applied it to the outline but has kept each shape separate, so I am not able to fill the circle in black. I could of course go in and manually join each little corner separately where the little shapes meet but this will take FOREVER with all the images I have to do.
Now, with that task simplified, I'm not sure how to change the color of the text created using this tool.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI do a lot of CD designs, and often I have my text centered on the front covers. When I put the text centered, however, PSP is added an extra space to the end of text, so when I center it on the canvas the text is actually off-center to the left. When I go into edit the text, there is no space on the right of the words to delete.
With the text selected this is how it looks: The right edge of the frame should be flush with the right edge of the last 'T'.
Way back when I originally bought PSP X3, I used it for a short while then went back to X2. Mostly because the X3 text tool would not remember text I had used. Now I've recovered from a hard-drive death and want to move forward and use my X3.
How can I make the X3 text tool remember text?
The 'saying' I am trying to create in a spiral format is 165 characters and spaces. I have pasted it into the spiral effects text box. It will only accept 65 characters in the text box.
If I use the circle effect, I can paste all 165 characters and spaces and the circle adjusts to the size where the entire saying fits into one circle.
How do I expand the amount of characters and spaces the spiral text box will accept and use to create the text image I want?
I have to replace text in a banner image with different text. Maybe if I upload the banner, it would be more useful...
I have to replace "Customer Satisfaction" with some other text. The text is embedded in the image; so, it's not that easy, at least for me, to replace it without making it look amateurish. Of course, I duplicated the background and worked on that layer.
First method I tried was using the clone stamp, zooming in to 1600% to painstakingly erase it. But then when I zoom out, the background where the text was placed over does not match its surroundings and looks like someone shaded it. If you zoom in real close, before making any changes to it, you'll see that the "green" (what the RGB is) touching the text is different than the "green" in areas not touching text.
Next, I thought of using the magic wand to select the text for me and that looked liked it worked. But the problem is once I select it, how to delete it or blend it in with the background. That is, if I select the "C" in "Customer Satisfaction" with the magic wand, for instance, pressing delete does nothing. Then I found I can fill the area, after I select it with the magic wand; however, what the RGB combination is of the background. Is there a way I can find out what the RGB value is of the background, then apply that to my fill color and effectively delete the "Customer Satisfaction" text?
Once I'm able to get rid of the text, I can use the text editor plugin tool I downloaded to replace the text.
That's my logic, anyway. How I can replace text in an image, preferably as neatly as possible.
I have a .jpg file with an image, which I copied from the Clipboard. I now want to add text NEXT to the image. That is I now want to type text and position the text after is typed.
When I use the Text Tool, the text cannot be moved.
I would like to create a number wheel with the numbers at 90deg to the circle but I cannot find any way to achieve this and it seems like something that should be doable within the text to curves feature.
