How do I create a gradient with paint.net with a photo - a landscape photo, from white on the left going darker to your right with colors being more prominent on the right?
View 2 RepliesI have not created a document yet and would like some thought on how to do this: I want to use a continuous tone black and white image which is somewhat close to what would be a 'knockout' but with soft edges - so it gradates appropriately over the background image I want to use, making the black part of the image used as the mask become much of the effect of a gradient mask: the background image shows through whereever there is the 'black' and 'tone' of the image.
my first thought is to create a layer mask and then paste the black and white image onto that, but I'm not sure if that will work to accept the 'soft tones' of the image and work appropriately. What steps I should take to make this effect work?
I want to create bulging eyes in a photo that i have. I would do this in photo paint?

1) How to straighten photos, using an horizontal line or a geometrical figure (I tried yet the radius straighten, but the photos are deformed then)
2) Some info on how to add a transparency layer and how to "colour" an area with transparent background;
3) How to make a gradient of two or more colours with advanced settings;
4) How to cut an area of a photo with precision (point-to point system and point to point "guided" based on colour tollerance levels; magic wand seems not to cut and then I haven't a firm hand);
5) Additional plugins for photo editing (borders, frames, artistic effects, etc.)
I was trying to make an animated GIF with 30 static GIF images I made with PhotoPaint X5 itself.
The crash happened every time I tried to close the program without saving the animated file – which I couldn't make due to not achieving what I intended (I'll have to learn a bit more about background and objects).
It happened on a 64-bit Windows 7 Professional system with 12 GB of DDR3 RAM.
I am trying to animate a small thing. A smiley face which bounces up and down. I have set it all up etc. but when I preview nothing happens. On the right hand side, in the movie docker, it shows the correct frames, (all 6 of them).
In the main window, when I click through the 6 frames, they are all frame 1. And when I press play, nothing happens (it says processing in the bottom corner, and keeps filling up the bar and starting again (assuming it is playing, but playing the same frame repeatedly?)
Not sure what to do with it? When I saved it, and opened the file, it kind of worked, all though frame one stayed there throughout the animation, the others did appear and do their thing, just behind frame one.
I don't often work with paragraph text, but I'm creating a booklet of about 32 pages. When I paste my text into Draw, it automatically creates as many pages as are necessary to display all of it. But when I change text borders or enlarge the font, it doesn't add any more pages. If I manually add pages, the text doesn't continue to them. All the original text is still there, but the excess is hidden within the border on the last page. I can manually add pages, of course, and cut and paste my text from one page to the next as necessary, but is there a way to automatically continue the text onto new pages?

View 1 Replies View RelatedI make regular use of a Flash image gallery that requires me to provide small square 50 x 50px thumbnails whatever the shape of the original images. The only solution I have found so far is to first manually sort my original images into landscape and portrait folders and then run a different action on each folder to create the thumbnails.
Is there any way to design an action that would work equally well on both landscape and portrait images?
Ideally I would like to use the nVidia normal map filter plugin - it's for Photoshop, and although, apparently, you can use some photoshop plugins, this one does not seem to work.
First question - is there a way to use the nVidia plugin?
Next - is there a Corel way?
I have created my own greyscale heightmap images and I can export red channel for alpha. Then I flood fill the red channel black and the blue channel white and export the RGB as the colour part. Creating a dds image gives me a pseudo bumpmap
BUT
Whenever I use this kind of bumpmap I get the effect I want on the aircraft models, but for some reason, "my" bumpmaps seem to remove the polygon smoothing of the 3D models so that when I "fly" the aircraft, I actually see the polygons instead of the smotthed mdl surface.This photbucket link shows what I mean.
The left hand image shows the original bumpmap on the original model. The next image shows modified artwork on the same model. Then I have change to a "D-i-Y" bumpmap and the last two show that although the desired bumps are there, I now have the wireframe polygons visible.
Can Gimp superimpose text in landscape orientation on photo?If so, I can not find in the documentation how to do this.

On PC_71, While ploting(creating the pdf via autocad) the pdf,its everytime coming in portait format but we want in landscape format.
On PC_71, if we create the pdf of any document by our Adobe pdf printer PRT13 then its creating pdf properly for both portait and landscape format . But for any autocad drawing file , the pdf printer PRT13 is not creating in landscape format.
I also cross-checked all plot setting with other proper working PC , its same then also its behave differently.
And if we create pdf on any other PC then its creating the pdf properly for any drawing but not on PC_71.
Also 1 more typical point I noticed that if we delete any pdf file from PC_71, then after refreshing its again appeared on same location.
Note - We are using:
Software : Autocad 2012-64Bit , Naviswork 2013 , Inventor Ultimate 2014-64 Bit , Bentley Autoplant V8i - SS4 version : 8.11.9.140 ,MS-Office 2010 - 64 Bit.
Hardware : Workstation Dell Precision T3600
I am trying to figure out a way to automatically crop a photo to say 4x6 INDEPENDENT of whether it is landscape or portrait while running a batch script. This is after I have done all my editing on the file (the first thing being that I turn the portraits the correct way).
I can sort (using windows) the file size and that tells me which are portraits and which are landscapes. I then create two directories, move the files to the appropriate directory and then run the crop script (making sure the horizontal and vertical crop dimensions are set correctly). This is a pain and wanted to see if there is some way to automate it without having to parse the files into two directories to start.
I am trying to change a landscape 4x6 photo to a portrait 4x6 using compose in ps element 12 and it doesn't seem to work.

The problem I have is there aren't any good patterns to use for the architecture and landscape industry. I have dealt with PhotoShop in the past and how you could import .pat files that would tile nicely. It would be nice to be able to fill an area with a stone pattern. I found some AutoCAD files but the filter type was not supported. If nothing else, I need to know what kind of vector pattern files are supported.

I open a new project and add a layer, then create a rounded rectangle, is there a way to fill just that rounded rectangle with a gradient. View 4 Replies View RelatedI shot a TV set and we decided to add a white to transparent gradient on the otherwise black TV screen to create depth for shaping.
What I did was create a circular gradient in the top left corner of the TV set. It has been set to go from White to Transparent. Then I reduced the opacity to around 40% to make it seem more realistic. The problem is that there are very visible bands from where it starts to where it fades out. These are visible from 100% opacity and downwards. I want the transitions to be smooth smooth smooth My Layer Blend mode is set to normal Will changing the blend mode help? I did try to use different blend modes and nothing changed.

I would like to make two extremely large black circles that are totally opaque at the top and then as the image approaches the bottom there would be a gradation of transparency where at the very bottom of the circles the image is totally transparent.

My boss has purchased RIP software which I have a vague knowledge of using, however, I have no clue how to actually create the design that would need a halftone print and therefore, have never used the expensive RIP software to print with.

I'm trying to create a distressed look on an object that has a gradient mesh appliet to it. i've done this with regular objects but never on one with a gradient mesh. one of the steps in this process is to expand the object, but i'm not able to do so because the expand option is grayed out in the drop down menu.
normally after expanding the object i would use one of the artistic charcoal brushes to create a texture over the object in a different color. then i would select the brush strokes and expand apperance. then, using the pathfinder, i would merge the expanded brush strokes with the expanded object and then delete the brush stokes. what remains is the object with little cut-outs where the texture of the brush strokes used to be.
however i can't do this because i can't expand the object with a gradient mesh.
How do I put a gradient overlay on a photo?
