View 15 RepliesI'm using CS6 and noticed that whenever I delete a layer that was a dupe of another layer with links (although not linked specifically to the deleted layer), the undeleted original layers become invisible on the canvas even though they are still visible in the layers pallette. I've been able to recreate this several times. Nothing I do will make the layers visible -I've tried moving them all to the top of the layers palette, making sure their opacity is 100%, making sure there are no layer effects, etc.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI have 2 opened files in photoshop, and I duplicated a layer in file 2 to the file 1. When I click on the file 1, I can see in the layers box the layer that i had duplicated, but I can't see the image on the screen.

How can I duplicate several layers together ? (in one layer manager)
View 2 Replies View RelatedI'm duplicating layers one at a time. I have to duplicate the same layer for a total of 108 layers and this seems ridiculously time consuming. Can anyone tell me if there is a way to make a large number of duplications at one time?
View 5 Replies View RelatedI am printing a program that is half of one 8.5x11 sheet, so I'd like to print 2 programs per sheet - I have resized the canvas of the document to 8.5x11, but is there an easy way to copy all the layers in the .PSD over to the other side of the sheet? I know I could flatten the image and copy it, but I'd like to retain the layers.

Is there a way to duplicate layers in text?
View 4 Replies View RelatedI was watching one of the tutorials by Scott Georgeson on lynda.com on Corel X6. It was on the polygon tool where he was making a polygon and adding different colored duplicate layers on top to make it multicolored. He said to hold the plus+ key and then grab handle to shrink one of the layers down to show some of the underlying layer. When I try this the layers aren't isolated and the whole thing moves. I saw a check box in the settings to edit layers separately but didn't work.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI have an Illustrator document with one layer (named Layer 1).In that layer are lines, rectangles and text.Is it possible (in script) to: make 3 additional layers named NL, EN and GEselect and cut all the text in Layer 1paste that text in the same place in the layers NL, EN and GE
(Step 2: select all text items and Ctrl-X)
(Step 3: select proper layer and Paste in Place in that layer)
I know this can be done with an action (I did that allready) but the reason I want to script this is because I have to combine this with another script which takes care of colorizing stuff.
I want to make a duplicate of this image: [URL]......
But I don't know how to make it...So I need a tutorial for that... If you still don't know what I want to do, I want to make a sword like that image there.
I'm not sure why it took me so long to realize this, but apparently I have a bunch of double brushes loaded in my Custom Brushes Mini plug in. From the looks of it, I did two things: 1) I added several sets of brushes twice, and 2) On the majority of the sets, I loaded both the brush and the brush preview (from ABR). So now it is registering that I have over 600 brushes, when the number is closer to 350.
Is there a way to delete out those extra brushes and previews from the plug in? I'm expecting it to be slow loading, because of the brushes anyway. But taking off all of those extras would still work quite a bit in speeding things up.
drop shadow plug-in?I know how to create drop shadow effects without the plug-in, but I'm trying to use the plug-in and am having no success.
1. I open Paint.net 3.5.10 and click the NEW button, then click OK in the New dialog box.
2. I create some plain text. I am using Arial 26 font and solid black color. The Layers window has one layer named Background.
3. I open up the Drop Shadow plug-in and just mess around with it, but nothing happens.
I have a feeling I'm missing a step in between steps 2 and 3. Do I need to duplicate the layer, or add a new layer? If I do, what do I have to do once the second layer is created?
I was working in Corel PaintShop Pro x4 when I noticed that there was an additional tab that was named the same as the file that I was currently working on but they were numbered 1 and 2. As I work on one file the other updates at the same time. I tried selecting "duplicate" under Windows but this duplicates the window as "Image #" and does not update when I change the original file.
View 7 Replies View RelatedAn image of a tree with fine branches in winter against a sky I want to darken. My goal is to create a duplicate layer of the image to darken but where the tree is transparent so I can put the darkened layer on top of the orignal image with an undarkened tree. Before my computer crashed, I used a plugin for this called, I thought, Alpha Mask. In this example, by selecting a spot on the tree I could make either everything the color of the tree or everything not disappear into transparency. But I can't seem to find the plugin now. I did look at the index of plugins and found some listings under Alpha, but none are described as the tool I need here (best I can tell).

View 1 Replies View RelatedIs it possible to set up a view in CPaintX5 with identical 'live' versions of an entire image or even just an object with the purpose of being able to work on either version with them set at different zoom levels, for example a 'wide shot' and a 'big close up'. I seem to recall that older versions of PSP had this facility as standard in a toggled pair of floating tabs called Preview and Image Info or some such. (I haven't used PSP for years so I might well be remembering incorrectly). It feels like it should be such a simple thing to do but it is eluding me. Of course it would be of most use as a standard feature of the Cut Out Lab but alas, no.
View 2 Replies View RelatedIs there an easy way (program) to prevent duplicate file names when transferring pics via card readers from multiple Canon EOS devices which all have the same filename format "IMG-xxxx". Specifying downloads to a dated folder name exacerbates the problem when combining the pics into a common folder at a later time. We have been manually renaming but this is becoming burdensome. Was wondering if PSP X4 has a front end downloading program that could handle this.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI purchased and installed version PSPX4 in Jan. 2012, and started noticing, what appears to be, a duplicate copy of the same file with an Asian type file format in the Recent Doc folder. When I attempt to do a weekly scan of my system for spyware, malware, etc. and weekly clean up of my registry, temp files and other files taking up space, one of my programs finds files listed in the registry under the Recent Doc folder that it cannot clean as the format is not recognized. Even though the properties of the file link the file back to the folder the .jpg file is stored in, there really isn't a file with that format. This is just a reference, and very annoying.

I am trying to make one image the background, and put others on top of it,I removed the background, but it still isn't showing..I also looked for a move layer down button but I can't find it.
View 5 Replies View RelatedWhenever you open up paint.net, it always has one white-background layer as the default layer.
Then i start drawing and after a while i realize "if i did this on transparent background i could reuse it in so many places!". So i either have to manually erase the white background carefully around every corner or restart drawing.
It would be good if the default was two layers, one white background layer and one empty layer where you start drawing. I know it's super simple to just create a new one manually when you start, but i'm often in such a rush when opening up to start drawing that i always forget.
The online tutorial shows, in the layers window, an up arrow and a down arrow, supposedly used to change the level of the current layer:Move Layer Up. This will move the current layer to a higher position in the layer order.Move Layer Down..This will move the current layer to a lower position in the layer order.
However, these arrows do not appear in my program. Also, I'm not clear on the function of "move layer up", since the current layer is the top layer, isn't it? So, how do I push the current layer back, so that the one behind it becomes the current layer? (At present I have only two layers in the picture I'm working on.)
I installed version 3.5.10 either yesterday or the day before, so it is current.
When I saved my file, I saved it as a jpeg because I hadn't saved it until done with it. But since I saved it as a JPEG, I closed out and it notified me about the flattening process, which I am familiar with, so I ignored it because it said something about being able to undo the process.
View 4 Replies View RelatedI am trying to move layers either up or down. I read somewhere to go to the Layers tab and under there should be Move Up or Move Down. When I do there those functions are not present. Could it be because I am using version 3.5.11?

View 8 Replies View RelatedI have a .PSP file with several layers. I would like to save at once each layer as a different .PNG file. Is it possible?
I could set and save just visible layers one by one, but my point is to find some automation.
I haven't really used PSP for doing custom graphics, mostly for working on photos; but before that I was using Adobe Photoshop and I liked (and still do) how it made saving easier than PSP does. Unfortunately Photoshop is horribly expensive so this is a better option.
I can't figure out for the life of me how to save .psd or .eps with the layers? It keeps telling me that due to how I am saving or the file format the alpha layers will be lost and so on.
I have Paint Shop Pro X4 which I am using to try and manipulate images of postage stamps. I scan the stamp using a film/slide scanner and using the cmyk splitter can produce a good images of the watermark and postmark cancellation, which I save separately. On a lot of the older stamps the plate number, from which the stamp is printed, is engraved into the design of the stamp and quite often this number is obliterated by the black cancellation mark. Is there any way using layers, or any other X4 feature, I can lift the cancellation mark from the image to see what is underneath?
View 5 Replies View RelatedI'm using 3-5 adjustment layers on some of my work. Even though I have larger files, without Adjustment layers, once I add an Adjustment Layer to ANY piece of work things slowdown big time. For example a 'normal' curves application is almost instant. But if I add a curves Adjustment Layer then what took 1-2 second takes 10-15 seconds using an Adjustment Layer.
So is there something that Adjustment Layers are doing that is a computer hog? Or am I overlooking something? Or are they just configured in such away that they are naturally slower? [URL]....
I would like to know how to fill an object on a layer using paintbucket and then isolate the fill onto its own layer. I swear I've done this before, but may have been dreaming. I am using a base drawing and would like to overlay fills and have the ability to control what is seen by turning on and off layers of paintbucket without having to duplicate that base drawing. Did that make sense? I am trying to avoid drawing an excessive amount of shapes.
View 7 Replies View RelatedI assume I have done something that will not allow me to "Paint" or "Erase" on layers. When I choose the paintbrush, the "chip" indicating the color no longer appears on the toolbar, opacity is set to 100%. Blending option is set to "Normal". "Paint Fill", shapes, filters and everything else works, so the layer or pixels are not locked. If I use one of the tools, the action appears in the "history" pallette, but does not appear on the display. This problem occurs on multiple images.I'm sure there are more settings that are relavent to solving the issue, but I can't think of any more right now.
