View 2 RepliesWell, so far I"m zero for four in trying to get LR to let me do trivial things the way I'd like, but let's give it yet another try........
I ALREADY KNOW you can use the "[" and "]" to change the size of the spot removal circle. BUT, I'm trying to get LR to work as much like Photoshop as possible 'cause the inconsistencies on small things is a surprisingly large hit to productivity.....
In PS I can change the size of the clone or heal using Alt and the mouse. Change both size AND opacity.
Is this buried somewhere in LR? If not, is there a way for me to define this command in the translatedstrings file?
I am unable to use the keyboard shortcut for "select inverse" (ctrl+shift+I).
I've tried re-installing as well...
I like to use keyboard shortcuts in GIMP to select different tools or to nudge an image, but I frequently click on the layers window, which causes keyboard shortcut commands to then be directed to the layers window. So whenever I click to select a different layer or do anything with layers, afterwards I always have to have to click on the image window again to regain use of my editing keyboard shortcuts.
Because of this, I also often forget that layers window has focus and end up messing up my layers with key-shortcut commands intended for the image window. Is there some change I can make to my workflow or keyboard bindings to avoid this problem?

View 1 Replies View RelatedI'm using Photoshop CS4 on an old PPC Mac (10.5.8). For some odd reason, I can't make (or find) a way to make a keyboard shortcut to select something other than the default button in a multi-button dialogue box. (i.e. , "Save", "Cancel", "Don't Save"). "Save" is the default, but I have to grab the mouse if I want to select "Don't Save".
"Tab" will work in other apps--but not Photoshop.

View 27 Replies View RelatedI don't remember it being a problem in LR4, but I have just used the spot tool on an image where there was a crop. The program's choice of source for the spot tool seems to me to be more dramatic than ever before, and in this particular image the source selected was in the area which I had cropped out. To move the source point, I had to open the crop tool to adjust one side of the crop, then move the source, then restore the crop to the image, then reselect the spot tool.
It might well be that in some instances the cropped out area is the best source, but whether it is or not, I think we need to be able to access the cropped detail without resetting the crop itself and preferably without having to then reselect the spot tool.
In LR4, you clicked, held down, and dragged your cursor to select a custom target source point to sample from... Clearly with the big update to the Spot removal tool in LR5, this action has a different effect... So in order to mimic that old action, you have to hold down Command (Mac) while clicking and dragging to select from a custom source point.
This issue I'm having is that when doing this, the Clone/Heal option always defaults to clone. I would say that 90% of the time, I'd rather have it acting as a 'Heal' instead. Having to then go and click 'Heal' to update this fact on every single spot removal is highly time intensive to say the least, when you are editing thousands of images, in my case, at a time.
Am I missing something, or is it possible to change this Default to 'Heal' instead of clone? I like that LR4 would leave the Clone/Heal option wherever you last set it, and you had to manually change it in order to use it differently.
When I click on the spot removal tool, the cursor arrow disappears as soon as it hits the photo. I must have unintentionally changed something? The histogram shows the RGB channels uselessly changing as I move the now-invisible cursor around. Did it do that before? If so, I didn't notice. If I close the spot removal tool, now I can see the hand cursor moving around, with the RGB channels still whirring away (now usefully??) on the histogram. Again, don't remember if it did that before. I would think that that RGB stuff would happen with some kind of eyedropper cursor - sampling or something - rather than the hand...

It would be really convenient to be able to shift-click several objects and toggle the visibility of them. I have a mouse with numerous buttons that are mapped to commonly used IV features, but I cannot find a way to map a visibility toggle.
View 9 Replies View RelatedFirst, I'm using the new Lightroom v4.1 on a Windows 7 x64 system.
I'm trying (without success) to remove volumes from the list that's shown when a user clicks on the 'Import' button (lower left of screen) and 'Select a source' which, naturally, shows all the drives in my system.
There are five volumes; four internal and one external.
There are only two drives which contain photos that I'm interestered in importing/editing.
The other drives contain files that I have no interest in editing or organizing.
For example, several hundred (scanned and collected) very old family photos that I wish to keep pristine, with no editing of any kind. As for placing them in collections, I already have them in dated, carefully named folders.
So, as this is a shared computer, I want to remove the volumes (drives) so that the aforementioned photos can't be inadvertantly imported.
Spot healing brush "sticking"?
Basically, a substantial portion of the time I hit "Q" I do not get the circle for spot heal. The cursor disappears and I cannot see anything. However, the tool is working, but I can't see its size. If I turn it off and back on I get the crosshairs and thus I can click and hide spots, but I can't see when I grow/shrink it, and I can't see when I move it.
I've seen this with all of the Lightroom 4.1 versions (RC1, RC2, and now GM) on OS X 10.7.4. This is on a Mac Pro with ATI graphics.
i was hoping and waiting for better healing/spot removal brush in LR4... and now i am disappointed . should i wait for LR5?

View 9 Replies View RelatedI have contacted Adobe about issues with Photoshop brushes recently. My issue is that the brush size is smaller than the circle that represents the brush. In other words, when I hoover over the area that I want to paint or erase with the circle and then click, the painted or erased area is smaller that the circle. It's really frustrating when fine tuning an image, you never know how close you are to what you want to correct. This is only visible when you zoom in quit a bit. I worked with an Adobe tech for over an hour and he could not simulate the problem. Then he finally asked if I was using a retina display, (he was not).
