View 9 RepliesSo I am running CS 6 and my clone stamp tool has been having issues for the past couple weeks. I go to alt+click a location to get my source, and then as i move somewhere else to starting cloning, it instead uses the exact area i am trying to cover up. The little icon that appears to show you where you are cloning from, is always inside my cursor, no matter where i grab the source from.
Only fix I have found is closing up and restarting PS again, and even then, it only works for one or two clicks then goes back to the issue.
I'm working on an iMac, OSX (10.7.4) with CS5.1. Ever since I uploaded my new Photoshop program months ago, it disables the alphanumeric keys on my key pad when I use the clone stamp tool. I have to restart my computer in order for my keyboard to work again.
I have talked to Adobe service multiple times, had the software replaced, had a service agent work with my machine from a distance, discussed the problem with Apple (they say it's an Adobe issue), paid a professional to resolve it, reinstalled the software multiple times and ways, worked in safe mode, worked as another user, but the problem persists.
I am a full-time graphic designer with my own business and usually have Illustrator, InDesign and Photoshop all open at the same time, so when I have to restart it is a major problem that I encounter multiple times during my work day.
I wish I had never purchased the upgrade and now fear CS6. What can I do?
I am trying to mask out a light source in a complex figure. I have just upgraded from PSE 11 -> 12, but I doubt that is the problem. I thought the clone stamp tool in Editor was simply not working. When I'd drag (after setting a source) over the bright area, it would darken where I dragged.
From experience it seemed like it was marking the area it was going to modify - but this turned out to be the extent of the modification. It just stayed dark. Following other discussions, I adjusted my depth of history to ease RAM footprint, restarted Editor, and rebooted my Mac (OSC 10.9). I also twiddled with all the options under Clone Overlay. I could see the effects, but they did not fix the issue. When I try the Clone Stamp tool elsewhere, it does what I expect.
I'm suspecting pilot error, but don't know what else to try.
I have looked through all the menu keyboard shortcuts and of course have found Merge Visible which doesn't useful. I don't see anything in keyboard shortcuts that lets me change Shift+Ctrl+Alt+E to something different. Exactly what is that shortcut called in PS CS5, where do I find it?

View 3 Replies View RelatedI'm having some problems with ACA 2012 when trying to work with wall styles.
I'm currently on the final year of my IArchitecture degree, up until this point I've used AutoCAD through the AD Student Community , but I've just picked up a book on ACA and was planning to get to grips with it. However, I ran into issues within the first few pages!
When trying to apply wall styles to existing walls in my drawing, I get the following message:
** Canceled - Educational Plot Stamp in source drawing. **
And no wall style is applied. I can edit properties of walls in terms of height and width etc, but can't apply any styles.
My clone tool seems to have been replaced by the pattern stamp tool. How to get it back and how that happened?

I would like to paint an image onto a 3d model using the clone stamp or pattern stamp tools within Photoshop CS4. The problem is the image needs to wrap around a curved body part, such as a tribal tattoo wrapped around an arm. When I click & brush the stamp on one area and then release to rotate the model, the stamp doesn't continue where it left off and my pattern is completely uneven.

View 6 Replies View Relatedstep 3 i have to use the clone stamp tool. But when i press ALT, my cursor changes to a double arrow! A white arrow and a black arrow, and the black arrow overlaps the white arrow for 80%. I guess thats not right, i should get a circle with a + in the middle of the circle right?
When i press alt and click mouse button, nothing happends. When i do that, and click somewhere at the image, i get the error that no area has been defined.
I have been using Photoshop ver 5.0 for a couple of years, off and on, and never had a problem with the Rubber stamp tool until recently. It always worked. I just selected it, then the pen size, then held the alt key down to select some color pixels, then clicked where I wanted to paint.
It doesn't work anymore. As soon as I hold the alt key down and try to select a pixel, up pops a dialogue box saying, "Must define a pattern" ??? I have searched through the help index, tried various things, but cannot find the solution.
I want to clone just using one place. I do not want the clone thingy to follow my cursor as I attempt to clone an area, I just want it in one place (stationary),

In LR4, you clicked, held down, and dragged your cursor to select a custom target source point to sample from... Clearly with the big update to the Spot removal tool in LR5, this action has a different effect... So in order to mimic that old action, you have to hold down Command (Mac) while clicking and dragging to select from a custom source point.
This issue I'm having is that when doing this, the Clone/Heal option always defaults to clone. I would say that 90% of the time, I'd rather have it acting as a 'Heal' instead. Having to then go and click 'Heal' to update this fact on every single spot removal is highly time intensive to say the least, when you are editing thousands of images, in my case, at a time.
Am I missing something, or is it possible to change this Default to 'Heal' instead of clone? I like that LR4 would leave the Clone/Heal option wherever you last set it, and you had to manually change it in order to use it differently.

I've got a problem using the rubber stamp tool. I want to use it to clone some dust spots out on several photos which are part of a time-lapse scene. Therefore I thought it would be easy to record using the rubber stamp tool, then applying the action to all photos via a batch process.
However, it doesn't seem to work. All my other steps in the action occur, but not the rubber stamp tool. Same is true for the healing brush.
Is there a way to adjust the opacity of the HUD-preview in the stamp tool?
View 2 Replies View RelatedI need to create a map from an 90-degree overhead view (looking straight down at the land). I have an image of a tree (viewed from above) and I would like to add hundreds of copies of the tree to the map in an organic fashion.
Is there anyway to configure the pattern stamp tool like I can configure the brush so that the tree image gets sprayed on to the map randomly with multiple copies at once? Is there anyway to define a brush preset that contains the colors of the tree image I would like to use?
