Nov 26, 2013Is there a way to adjust the opacity of the HUD-preview in the stamp tool?

View 2 RepliesIn past versions of Photoshop, when using the Clone Stamp, you could change the opacity by hitting the 1 through 0 keys. This shortcut still works with other brush tools - Brush, Spot Healing, etc. But now, when using it with the Clone Stamp it changes the Flow and not the Opacity.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI use PShop CS5 + Bridge on a Mac “All in one”, all options works fine. Some time ago I changed some option (don’t remember which) to try new way of using the clone stamp. That is ok, but after that the “preview” of the clone stamp does not appear, as I was moved the the previous version of PS.
Some details:
I activate the clone stampset dimension, etc.I see the pointer, okMove the pointer to the source and clickThen simply move the pointer to the target areaBefore the problem without pressing any key I saw the “preview” of the effect. Now, I see the correct effect but only AFTER having clicked the mouse Reading previous thread, I reset the tool options, then reset all tools option, then checked the dimension of the pointer (in the general option section).Nothing changed.
I read that reinstall PShop is useless, since reinstall does not remove corrupted files if any (but which file?).Since every other feature is working properly, it looks like a strange setting I set without being aware of that …
In Photoshop 6 the preview of the brushsize get almost invisible when working with low opacity, the same problem occurs when working with Dodge tool and low exposure.
In earlier versions the preview showed in 100% even if working in low opacity. Now it's impossible to se how big feather och the size of the brush without first going up too higher opacity. Can I somehow show the preview in 100% even if working in low opacity like 3%?
My clone tool seems to have been replaced by the pattern stamp tool. How to get it back and how that happened?
View 3 Replies View RelatedI am familiar with the operation of the clone tool in previous versions of Photoshop.... However after upgrading to CS6 I am having a problem with the functionality of the clone tool.
Basically when using the clone tool when its set to 100% opacity & flow, it looks as though the clone tool is only set to 50% opacity.I am using the default configuration that came with the program.
My previous version was CS3... clone tool worked perfectly there...why the same tool doesnt perform the same way with the same apparent settings.
I would like to paint an image onto a 3d model using the clone stamp or pattern stamp tools within Photoshop CS4. The problem is the image needs to wrap around a curved body part, such as a tribal tattoo wrapped around an arm. When I click & brush the stamp on one area and then release to rotate the model, the stamp doesn't continue where it left off and my pattern is completely uneven.
View 8 Replies View RelatedI have been using the pen tool for more than 2 years already, but when I started using CS6, I have lots of difficulties using the pen tool. I use the pen tool for vector portraits and I need to use opacity 8 for every vector.
But when I add another shape on top of it, it gets back to 100% opacity, so I have to change it to opacity 10 again. This has caused me to spend a lot of time on something else than trying to make my work quick and fast.
otherwise it seems to be working fine. My OS is Windows7 pro.

View 6 Replies View Relatedstep 3 i have to use the clone stamp tool. But when i press ALT, my cursor changes to a double arrow! A white arrow and a black arrow, and the black arrow overlaps the white arrow for 80%. I guess thats not right, i should get a circle with a + in the middle of the circle right?
When i press alt and click mouse button, nothing happends. When i do that, and click somewhere at the image, i get the error that no area has been defined.
I have been using Photoshop ver 5.0 for a couple of years, off and on, and never had a problem with the Rubber stamp tool until recently. It always worked. I just selected it, then the pen size, then held the alt key down to select some color pixels, then clicked where I wanted to paint.
It doesn't work anymore. As soon as I hold the alt key down and try to select a pixel, up pops a dialogue box saying, "Must define a pattern" ??? I have searched through the help index, tried various things, but cannot find the solution.
I want to clone just using one place. I do not want the clone thingy to follow my cursor as I attempt to clone an area, I just want it in one place (stationary),

View 2 Replies View RelatedCan PSCS6 record stamp tool strokes in an empty layer? I am unabel to create an action using the stamp tool on an empty layer above the background layer.
The strokes appear in the emty layer but I am not able to replicate the strokes using an action.
I've got a problem using the rubber stamp tool. I want to use it to clone some dust spots out on several photos which are part of a time-lapse scene. Therefore I thought it would be easy to record using the rubber stamp tool, then applying the action to all photos via a batch process.
However, it doesn't seem to work. All my other steps in the action occur, but not the rubber stamp tool. Same is true for the healing brush.
So I am running CS 6 and my clone stamp tool has been having issues for the past couple weeks. I go to alt+click a location to get my source, and then as i move somewhere else to starting cloning, it instead uses the exact area i am trying to cover up. The little icon that appears to show you where you are cloning from, is always inside my cursor, no matter where i grab the source from.
Only fix I have found is closing up and restarting PS again, and even then, it only works for one or two clicks then goes back to the issue.
I need to create a map from an 90-degree overhead view (looking straight down at the land). I have an image of a tree (viewed from above) and I would like to add hundreds of copies of the tree to the map in an organic fashion.
Is there anyway to configure the pattern stamp tool like I can configure the brush so that the tree image gets sprayed on to the map randomly with multiple copies at once? Is there anyway to define a brush preset that contains the colors of the tree image I would like to use?
I'm a fairly beginner Photoshop user in CS5. I'm sampling a background copy and working in that layer only - whatever I choose to clone stamp, I get only white. Well aware that this is very likely user error and I have likely accidentally changed a setting somewhere... but have searched for the reason and am getting no where.

When using the clone stamp tool, after making a sourse selection there is a "trail" that follows the cursor to the destination (similar to using a mouse trail so you can tell where the cursor is on a notebook computer)
When the cursor slows down at the stamp destination the "trail" catches up and covers the destination with the sourse "patch" not allowing precise targeting. It is so cumbersome to use as to make the clone stamp tool almost unusable. The density of the "patch" is not affected by opacity settings.
Is this a new behaviour for this tool in CS4? And if so can it be turned off? Do I have a problem unique to my system?
I'm using Edit, expert mode, only one layer and the enhance box on the left has;
red eye correction
spot healing
smart brush
pattern stamp
blur
sponge
but no clone stamp.
My Clone Stamp Tool no longer has the "normal" selection option in the drop down menu.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI always used the number keys to set opacity in brush tool. Suddenly it now affects flow, not opacity. At the same time this functionality changed I started having to click on a mask for the [ ] keys to change brush size. I used to be able to change size without selecting the mask. Did I inadvertently change some setting? I am using CS5 12.0 x 64 on Mac in 10.6.8.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI'm working on an iMac, OSX (10.7.4) with CS5.1. Ever since I uploaded my new Photoshop program months ago, it disables the alphanumeric keys on my key pad when I use the clone stamp tool. I have to restart my computer in order for my keyboard to work again.
I have talked to Adobe service multiple times, had the software replaced, had a service agent work with my machine from a distance, discussed the problem with Apple (they say it's an Adobe issue), paid a professional to resolve it, reinstalled the software multiple times and ways, worked in safe mode, worked as another user, but the problem persists.
I am a full-time graphic designer with my own business and usually have Illustrator, InDesign and Photoshop all open at the same time, so when I have to restart it is a major problem that I encounter multiple times during my work day.
I wish I had never purchased the upgrade and now fear CS6. What can I do?
How to take source point (sample) for stamp tool (etc) without using keyboard but just mouse?
