View 3 Replies View RelatedI have Photoshop CS5 extended and a Mac with OSX 10.6.8. I was altering the 1st and only layer in my .psd file by filling areas with the "content aware" setting. (The background is blank.) It was working great, too! Then suddenly the "fill" selection under "edit" was greyed out, as well as most of the other things on the edit menu. It doesn't matter what I try to select in that layer.
I shut down Photoshop and restarted my computer, but it didn't work. Duplicating the layer didn't work, either. I CAN fill and stroke in the background layer.
I recently installed Adobe Photoshop Elements 10 on my MacBook Pro. I attempted to select, then edit a photo that I created a while ago. All of the Edit Functions were dimmed. I confirmed that the photo was set with RGB color mode, and it is in Full/Edit mode. The primary functions that I attempted to use were Copy & Paste. I opened the same file on my iMac and it worked just fine. How I can make the Edit Functions work on my MacBook Pro?
View 2 Replies View RelatedI am a long time user of CorelDRAW but have been moving more and more to Adobe CS. In part because it is the standard in the graphic design industry but also because Corel always seems to have some issue. My latest issue is when I select an imported image in a CorelDraw file and go to the top menu, I can't select edit bitmap. The option is grayed out. It's a new install on winxp-pro. I've used this tool over many years and questioned why Adobe could not launch photoshop and edit embedded images from within Illustrator. It still can't, but it can edit linked files, a danger if you only want to apply changes to the image in your current work file. Corel's ability to edit embedded images is a great feature. Why it does not work has got me stumped. jpg files are associated with Photo-Paint, I close and reopen Corel and still no capability to edit images from within CorelDraw.
View 6 Replies View RelatedI have a strange thing that all of a sudden started happening. If I Rt-Clk on a surface on a profile and select Edit Profile geometry, the dialog box comes up, but almost every option in there is greyed out!
This is not drawing-specific, not is it machine specific.
See attached pic.
Whenever I edit an Extrude 'cut' feature,(eg: To Add or remove a profile), the OK button is greyed out and no matter what I do, I can't get it back.
The only way to edit the extrusion is to:
Shift EOP
Delete the extrusion
Recreate the extrusion.
Shift EOP
fix errors if any.

View 3 Replies View RelatedI have been using lightroom 4. At first it decided that the center image just wouldn't display on some photos. The previews look fine, the selected photo preview seemed to work, but the center image would just gray out like there was no photo at all. I tried to uninstall several things, updated my video drivers, even changed virus protection just in case but nothing worked.
I have the creative cloud, so I uninstalled version 4 and upgraded to version 5. Went into my catalog and almost exactly the same thing started happening. This time, I can see unedited photos, but if I apply a preset the image disappears again. If I click off the photo and click back I can see the image unedited in the main window and the previews show it with the edits. Sometimes I can see the edited photo but at low resolution, but it will not sharpen up to the full image. I even cleared my preview cache just in case but nothing seems to be working.
I don't want to have to re-install windows just to try fix this.I should not that the only thing that changed is that I installed a new Epson printer in windows. I have now uninstalled all but the driver for that printer and still have the issue.

View 3 Replies View RelatedI tend to keep adding images to my memory card until it is nearly full. I then reformat the card for future use. I do this for a couple of reasons, firstly if any of my image or backup file fails, I've got the option of downloading the image from the card again. Secondly, I like to ensure that all the storage locations on the card are used equally, to even out "wear."
I download using a Sandisk 'Extreme' USB2 card reader. Opening the Lightroom Import dialog, I have the box marked "Don't import suspected duplicates" ticked. I'm downloading a card which has a lot of previously imported images, plus a number of new images. Previously, the suspected duplicate images have been greyed out and only the new images are highlighted and only the new images download.
Just recently, despite the "Don't import suspected duplicates" box still being ticked, none of the already downloaded images is greyed out and ALL the images will download. I haven't made any other changes to the program or preferences, so I'm a bit puzzled as to exactly what is going on. I now have clear the check box for ALL the images and then just select the new images for import.
I am using LR 4.4 with Windows Home Premium 64-bit.
I'm running on LR 5.3, but this problem persisted in LR 5.2. Working in PS CS6 and Camera Raw 8.3. RAWs are NEFs from a Nikon D600.
I can't figure out what happened but suddenly I am not getting prompts when moving from LR to PS to "Edit Original" or "Edit a Copy".
I reset all dialog warnings and nothing. The prompt will appear for TIFFs but not for NEFs.
It's kind of pointless to not be able to choose to edit an original or copy with LR adjustments for a RAW when they are the file types that retain my RAW editing information.
Plus, when I do click on a NEF and choose to edit in PS without the prompt (it will appear with lightroom adjustments, not as original), it will open a second icon for photoshop on my dock, and prompt me to continue trial? I have a version of PS installed with the serial plugged in, and in LR "edit in PS" for a TIFF will open this primary version.
I am trying to access the edit original (edit with) option to edit a photo that has not been edited yet. I right click and go through the edit menu and does not appear or is not available? Would I have to reopen it manual in photoshop or is there a way around this to access that setting? it sometimes does not appear on my already edited photos.
I would prefer not to open each photo again, as some files i do not have and were imported into the document with another computer.
when I edit and save a file in Photoshop CS6 from Lightroom. After I save and return to LR4.2 in Windows Explorer it puts the TIFF in the same directory next to the original RAW file as it should, however in the Library module it gets a different entry. So I end up with the same directory listing with the photocount 1 next to it. It also doesn't show up in the main directory where all the other files are, it's not next to the originel RAW.
I can do "show parent folder" until the point I get to the root directory which then gives me an error message which says.
Unable to choose edit in photoshop from light room. and unable to edit in photoshop

View 2 Replies View RelatedI have LR3 and CS5 using the Prophoto color profile on a Windows 7 system. I always shoot RAW (NEF) and usually use both LR3 & CS5 to process an image. The issue I have is after processing the image in LR3, I then use, Photo/Edit in Photoshop, for the image to open in CS5, carry out a couple of further processes (crop & clone tool) and then 'save' (not 'save as'). When I view the 'Edit' image back in LR3 the initial settings have changed considerably. The image is also slightly darker. I have also experimented in carrying out no processes whatsoever in CS5 by going direct to 'save' but the same issues prevail. An example of the difference in settings is:
LR3 settings; Tint +10, Exposure -0.24, Recovery 46 Fill L 3, Blacks 7.
The edit version shows; Tint +1, Exposure -0.41, Recovery 23, Fill L 0, Blacks 5.why the settings in the returning edit version are not the same as those shown in the initial processed RAW version which is also leading to a darker image?
I just upgraded from Lightroom 3 to 4.3. I'm trying to "edit in Photoshop" which is not greyed out. Photoshop opens successfully but the image from Lightroom never launches. Is there something I need to enable to allow the photo to open?

I can easily edit the RAW files first and then go back and redo them if I have to in Lightroom, but if I Merge it first in Photoshop I no longer have a RAW file to play with.I am using .DNG files in Lightroom.
I am running Lightroom 4.4 with Camera 7.4 and Photoshop CS 6 will no longer let me edit directly from Lightroom. I am on an IMac running the most recent OS, OS X 10.8.3.
