Jan 10, 2014If you want to re-use a Frame Generator member in ANOTHER assembly to save creating more files you might want to use copy-paste.If you do then you find you can't delete this member or other ones that have been copy-pasted into that assembly.
Oddly enough if you use "place component" you CAN delete it.I am using Inventor Professional 2014 Service Pack 1 Update 1.

Dec 3, 2012I recently downloaded a .SAT part from 3dcontentcentral.com and i would like to use it in an assembly i am creating. Problem is, once i pulled it into Inventor, I am unable to edit the part to match the dimensions necessary for my assembly. How do i go about editing this part? Is there a way that i can copy the components of the part and paste into a new drawing, save as a normal part, then edit? I have attached a screenshop of the part so you can see the Model tree.
p.s. I would simply redraw the part, however i am having a lot of difficulty getting it to look as i want it to.

I want to copy and paste it behind the image into the same file so both are one file linked to the brochure. Also the drop shadow pastes as too small, then i also can't get it positioned right etc.

Jun 20, 2013So I am trying to work with a web page template in dreamweaver. I am attempting to open the background image in this template with gimp, then paste over top of the Original image with a new image. Every time I paste the new image in it takes the color style of the original.
I.E. The original image is in shades of brown while the new image is in many different colors. Whenever I paste the new image (the image with many colors) it changes to shades of brown like the original image.
The same thing happens if I open the new image as a new layer or just simply copy and paste the new image in.
How do I bring the new image in without it changing colors?

Sep 17, 2012I am having problems copying/pasting an image into Gimp. Instead of the image itself being pasted, it pastes the mac symbol for Jpeg (the photo of the little Asian boy by the sea with the camera lens on top). The same happens pasting an EPS file. I don't understand as I have managed to paste an image before. I have tried pasting into selection/pasting as new image/pasting as new layer. All the same. Neither will Gimp let me drag an image into it from finder or the desktop. I've tried opening a new file from scratch too. Same problem.
I'm using a macbook pro. OX 10.6.8

Upon doing this I seem to have lost the ability to copy/cut an image or part thereof from one open image into another... Example:
I have an image window open with a picture a car and I have an image window open with a race track back ground.
I want to copy the car from image 1 into image 2, but for some reason I cannot do this function anymore. When attempting it, once the item is copies to the clipboard and I then swap to the second image, when I paste as a new layer it pastes the clipboard from that image and not the image from the first window...

Jan 21, 2014I have corrected my saturation on a photo in the Develop module and would like to copy that saturation to other photos. I click 'copy' in the lower left and get the dialog to select my choice of settings, so I only check saturation. I then move to my desired recipient image and click 'paste' and nothing happens. Same result in Library module when I use Photo > Develop Settings > Copy Settings and Paste Settings.

Sep 4, 2013I have an image from a 7D to which I have only applied Enable Lens Profile, Remove CA, Constrain to warp, Manual Vert Perspective and Crop with Constrain Aspect Ratio Switched off.
The cropped dimensions of this image is now 2763 x 4472.
If I copy all settings and paste to a fresh untouched virtual copy of this image the resulting size is 2752 x 4453. The shot is part of a bracketed tripod shoot in AV mode, if I copy and paste to the other two untouched images the resulting size is also 2752 x 4453.

For example... I import three RAW images, each shot with Auto White Balance.
Image #1 is a gray card and with a WB of 6500K.Image #2 is a product shot with a WB of 6000KImage #3 is a product shot with a WB of 6200K
Let's say I adjust the WB in Image #1 to 6400K - an adjustment of -100K from the "as shot" WB.
When I copy those WB settings from Image #1 to Images #2 and #3, will the target images get an absolute value of 6400K? Or an adjustment of -100K?
Would I have:
Image #1 = 6400KImage #2 = 6400KImage #3 = 6400K
... or ...
Image #1 = 6400KImage #2 = 5900KImage #3 = 6100K

Nov 26, 2012So here's the problem: I am working for a photo journalist/traveling photographer moving his 8tb database into Lightroom 4.Now, for whatever reason, he wants the ISPC-metadata headline, the title, and the caption to be same for each picture. What I mean by that is not simply giving every picture the same exact name, but rather have a picture with the headline "Machu Pichu during Sunset" also have the title ""Machu Pichu during Sunset" and the caption "Machu Pichu during Sunset". So far I've done copy and paste between those boxes (I usually only have a headline) for every single picture, but as you might imagine, with 8tb, this will drive you absolutely insane. What I'd like is to have is some sort of Metadata preset telling Lightroom to just take the headline and copy and paste it to title and caption. Is there any way that is possible? This would really save me tons of completely redundant work.

However, when I make a selection from that file and copy and paste it into a different Ps file, it does not show the adjustments. I even tryed saving the adjusted photoshop file as a jpeg and then opening it up and reselecting what I want.....Copy and paste it.....and the adjustments still don't appear on the different Ps file/photo. How can I keep the adjustments made in lightroom as a selection to copy and paste to a new file?

Mar 12, 2012Only just noticed this one since upgrading from LR4 Beta to LR4. First session developing a few shots taken over the weekend (.CR2 RAW files). When I only have a few shots, all taken in the same environment, I tend to just get the first one right and then Copy the Develop settings, and paste them onto each subsequent shot.
What happens on my 64 bit Windows 7 box - the first time I paste the settings to any shot, I get the task bar appear at the top right, which after a brief time changes to 'task completed' - but no settings have been pasted. If I then paste the settings it works the second time.

If I want to select part of an image and copy it to another area or to a new image/layer, and also FEATHER the edges, here's how I'd do it in an old graphics app I often used years ago:
1. Select the area.2. Hold Ctrl while moving selection with Move tool.3. Use the slider to soften the edges to my liking.4. Press Enter to anchor selection. Done.
And there were sliders also for opacity and other things. So very SIMPLE because the prog. was designed very intuitively. How would I accomplish the same in GIMP? Well, most of the time, I WOULD ACCOMPLISH NOTHING! At best, I'd enter values into the box, not like the result, enter new values, repeat. And that's on a good day.
Somebody write a SCRIPT/PLUGIN that allows the use of sliders exactly as described above! I desperately want to be a HAPPY GIMP user, but I'm growing ever more hopeless. I don't want to turn on my older PC just to use a graphics app that actually lets me get things done.

Sep 28, 2013Using Lightroom 5 I made several changes to a photo. One of the first changes I made was to crop. I now find I cropped too much. Is there a way to copy or save the several correct changes and redo the crop? Is there a way to start a new copy of the photo with some of the changes from the first copy?
