Lightroom :: Why Adjustments Made On Detail Panel Don't Affect Histogram
Jul 30, 2013I would like to learn the reason why adjustments made on detail panel don't affect histogram.

View 4 Replies View RelatedI transfer my adjustments from lightroom to photoshop for additional editing. The adjustments show in the new Photoshop file. However, when I make a selection from that file and copy and paste it into a different Ps file, it does not show the adjustments. I even tryed saving the adjusted photoshop file as a jpeg and then opening it up and reselecting what I want.....Copy and paste it.....and the adjustments still don't appear on the different Ps file/photo. How can I keep the adjustments made in lightroom as a selection to copy and paste to a new file?

View 1 Replies View Relatedfor some weird reason all of a sudden the adjustments I make to my images in ACR are not carrying over when I open them in CS5. I've cheked the Adobe website to make sure I have the latest versions of both ACR & CS5 & I do. Any thoughts on how I can correct this? Very frustrating to adjust 10 - 15 wedding images in ACR then they're right back to the original image when I open them in CS5.
View 11 Replies View RelatedI'm having a problem saving changes to tiff files. Example: I open a new tiff (scanned image, 16 bits RGB, I duplicate the image, close the original unchanged. I then make simple changes, e.g. levels or calculations, and then "save as" with a new file name with the tiff extention. CS2 grinds away. When I open the new image it is the same as my original tiff, none of my adjustments are saved. I HAVE reset my preferences, no dice. I rebuilt my cache, no dice.
Standard Winxp2, I have a cache drive, computer has good speed and drive space,
Is there a way of examining a JPEG image that has been 'through' PS and seeing which PS filters/adjustments have been made to it?
View 9 Replies View RelatedWhen I open a file from PSE 11 Organizer in ACR 7.4, make my edits and hit done, the edits made in the Detail tab are not reflected when the file is viewed in PSE 11 Organizer. I had this problem a while back and found a thread that provided a cache or directory change that fixed the problem.
View 6 Replies View RelatedWe have a bunch of shots taken using natural light - the shots all have completely different exposure and white balance adjustments.
Now that the shots feel like they've been shot at the same time of day (and on the same day) we'd like to start adjusting the white balance accross multiple shots - but use the current white balance/exposure from each individual shot as the starting point - not reset the adjustments.
Kind of like baking the current settings or making adjustments on top of current adjustments - or make new adjustments relative to the current adjustments.
Does anyone know if it is possible to remove some of the icons from the adjustments panel in Photoshop CS4? Some of the adjustments are great but others I will never use and it would be nice to streamline the panel a bit.
View 3 Replies View Relatedtoday i created a panel with the adobe.-configurator , latest version.the export to plugins/panel was successful.
there were 2 folders created with the name of the panel.one with the extension : ,assets.and a GPC-file too.
after that i supposed to open ps and to find it in extensions.not at all.
the file was exported to the 32bit version istead of the 64-bit.
[code]....
I created a catalog with smart previews from my PC (Win 7, 64 bit) and copied it onto my macbook pro (OSX 10.9.1) via a thumb drive. I can view the photos fine, zoom in and use the develop controls. However I get no histogram, cannot export and below the histogram it just says 'photo is missing'.
The whole point of this exercise was to choose and export lo-res selects to customers when out of the office. I can't do that.
lost basic panel from righthand side adjustable panel, how can i restore it? There are everything else but basic ones.
View 1 Replies View RelatedIn LR5 when I go to use one of the 5 zone adjustment areas in the Develop module histogram, there is a 2 - 2.5 second delay before I can use them for each image. The individual sliders below, e.g., exposure, contrast, etc, don't exhibit the delay.
This is not the case with LR4.4... and it is a cause of frustration for me due to the slowdown in my wedding workflow. I'm on a Mac Quad Core, 12 GB, SSD, etc, so I'm not sure what the problem is, as I said there's no problem with 4.4. I searched but did not see this problem listed. Also, LR 5.2RC does not fix the problem.
When I choose "Enable Profile Correction" in Lens Corrections panel in develop module, the histogram changes as well as the image itself (gets brighter).
I do see the image change as it applies distortion correctly as well. I go back and hit reset and try again and always happens. I have only noticed this with my Nikon D600 with the kit lens. It did not see this with my D90 - no histogram changes,
This occurs in LR 4.3 and just upgraded to LR 4.4 to see if it was fixed.
The histogram looks normal.
The histogram after selecting the lens correction. The histogram changes plus the RGB looks too symmetrical as well.
Interestingly, I changed it the Make to Canon and it went back to the original settings. I checked other cameras and some behaved like the Nikon. I also went through various len models and some show this histogram fix with some lenses and looks normal with others.
The histogram clipping triangles disappeared in the Develop module. Upgrading from LR 5.2 to 5.3 did not solve the problem, and I can't find an on/off toggle in any of the support sites.
View 1 Replies View Relatedi have made changes to folder structure in lightroom 4. basically condensed folders, merged, deleted, etc. the only corresponding changes that i can see when i look at folders in My Pictures on my mac is that some of the folders are deleted. otherwise all the folders look the same as before i made my changes.
View 12 Replies View Relateddefinitive function and use of the X/Y split colour numbers in the LR soft proofing histogram?
It's the only function inside of Lightroom that I can't figure out - is it a point sample between original and proof, or an area sample?
And whatever it is, what are you supposed to do with the info; you can't "lock" a sample point a la Photoshop can you.
There must be some prescribed method of usage for the info, otherwise why is it there?
I shoot in raw, I import into lightroom by doing a sync folder. Then I edit my picture using photoshop cs6. I save it as a jpeg. Finally I export this image as a jpeg to a sub folder called Publish, which means its ready for the web. problem is when i look at image in lightroom on the right side the histogram has no details, it wont show iso, fstop or anything. if I look at my original RAW file i can see the exif info in the histogram but on my final exported image its all gone.
furthmore it looses all its tags and meta data, I have to copy the metadata back to this file. it would be nice if lightroom would reinsert the meta info and exif once its reimported into lightroom.
Do camera profiles (such as camera standard) affect sharpening, noise reduction? or just exposure?
I ask because my default sharpening is 50 but I recently switched from Adobe Standard to Camera Standard
Frequently when I import raw Nikon files to lightroom 4 I initially see a picture with tone and white balance I really like. during this time (2 to 10 seconds) the histogram indicates that it is calculating. When the histogram is finished calculating the picture changes with bad tone (exposure, contrast ...). You can go and manually change the tone settings but it can take sometime and I would rather be able to quickly return to the picture settings that was initially presented. Is there a short cut or easier way?

View 7 Replies View RelatedLightroom adjustments that I make to an image are not being carried over when I "Edit in Photoshop CS6". I'm using LR 4.1 and ARC 7.1.
View 5 Replies View RelatedI don´t know why, but suddenly there seems to be no way, I can get edit in PS with LR adjustments. There used to be an options box in LR when selecting "edit in Photoshop". Now I get no options, and my adjustments from LR does not show in PS. I have tried both the tiff and PSD setting in preferences/external editing, but no luck. I have also used the "Reset Warnings" in LR, hoping this would bring back the external edit dialog box, but no luck.
as I have a lot of urgent work to do, and I go back and forth between LR and PS a lot.

I have recently opened a LR catalog from an external hard drive connected to a new mac pro. All the 'user templates' are there and all the images in each respective collection, although I had to re-connect them as the originals had moved to a new external hard drive but... most (not all), but most of the images I had adjusted in 'Develop' have gone. Most of the images I made a virtual copy of before adjusting have reverted back to the original raw image without the adjustments.
If I have to start all over again from scratch or is there a magic 'LR Develop adjustments' file I haven't transfere to the new laptop and hard drive?
Are the modifications that you make during development added consecutively as you make each one or are they all added up and applied once at the end?
In other words: say I have a RAW file, well exposed, but it's flat and boring. So I choose to knock the whole thing down 1 eV in exposure. Then I use the adjustment brush and add 1 eV to just my subject. Is my subject essentially untouched as to exposure, or has the subject been brought down and taken back up and thus would have some inherent noise and whatnot?
And does the same apply for adjustments other than exposure, like clarity or tint?
I am using LR4 and PS-CS5. I just upgraded to LR-4 but now when I select an image to edit in PS, the LR adjustments have been stripped. I have looked at preferences and menu items but cannot find how I can change this.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI have reinstalled LR4.1 to the new hard drive on my computer. Had to import all the images again, and all my LR adjustments seems gone? Mapping, keywords, rating, development adjustments etc... The old catalogues are on the new hard drive. How can I get LR to find my ajustments? Or do I have to do it all over again :S ?
View 2 Replies View RelatedWhen I use send an image from LR to PS using "Edit in..." Only some of the LR adjustments show up in PS. (E.g. color adjustments are visible while crop and exposure are not). All versions (LR, PS, ACR) are the newest. I am on mac OSX 10.9.1.
View 11 Replies View RelatedI upgraded to LS4 without a hitch, and updated my catalogs. Everything seemed to work fine for a few days. Then I tried to drag my LR catalog onto another drive and open it from there. Afer that, it all went down the tubes, regardless of which copy of the catalog I open.
Normally I'll make adjustments my my imported RAW files in LR, then hit "command-E," and edit original to PS CS5.1 (all software is current release), with LR adjustments rendered to that TIFF file. Now, I don't ever get that dialog box, but I do get another box telling me to update to Camera Raw version 7.0, which I understand is not available yet. So I hit "open anyway," and the image appears in PS but without any adjustments. Furthermore, it appears to be an opened CR2 file, rather than a TIFF. I didn't even know PS could open a CR2 file without the Camera Raw plugin dialogue launching. So, it appears I have a CR2 file opened rather than a TIFF, despite the external editor presets being correct (TIFF, 16bit, etc.).
I can render it using lightroom, but that doesn't work for me because I need to be able to not save a tiff I've created (layers of different adjustment settings I discard), I need to be able to click "don't save" but that way just automatically saves them. Also,
