Lightroom :: Playing Movies - Experiencing Delays / Latency?

I'm experiencing latency when playing movies in LR5. I'm connected to my Windows server from a new/fast Macbook running 10.9. Right now, the batch that I'm experiecing this with are .MOV files, but it's happened with other formats as well. The movies play fine when I open them in QT from Finder, so I know it's not the server connection, which uses Gigabit ethernet. When I play them through LR5, I often experience delays where I'll hear the audio, but the video is frozen. Then when I swittch back from Loupe to Grid view, I get the spinning wheel for a while. This even occurs on short movies - 2-3 minuyes long, under 5MB. This should be an easy thing to implement, and baseline for offering movie capabilities.

I upgraded to Lightroom 4.1 a few months ago and since then have been battling with incredibly slow spot removal tool, slow changes between tools and modules, and a big time lag in using the slider adjustments. I use Lightroom for Portrait photography work and it is incredibly frustrating. I feel like my workflow is half the speed it used to be because of all the wait time. Once I select an area for the spot removal, for example, I can wait about 2-4 seconds for it to work. I find that this lag is shorted when I first open Lightroom and begin using it, but the lag time quickly increases as the hours literally drag by. Are other people having these issues after upgrading to Lightroom 4?

I am able to set the GPS locations in mp4 movies in LR4 without any problems. However, if I export these movies now, the tags are no longer shown. The tags are also missing when I re-import them

I recently re-imported all my photos and movies.
Now all movies are without sound. I dont know what to do or where to error search this. 100 family movies are just silent now o.O

I am trying to use the keywords to mark up some movies. i dont want the histogram panel because i want to see more of the keyword list. although i can close the histogram panel so it is just a bar, i cant completely remove it. i can remove other panels such as the metadata or comments panels. in the same way, i also notice that i cant remove the navigator panel even though i seldom use it.

Any solution regarding why video is not playing LR 5.2? In the past video worked fine until this update. I have looked thru the threads and see that other people have had a similar problem. One person said she reinstalled numerous times and then suddenly it began working?!?! I have downloaded all updates and it does not work. Yet I have confirmed that i can go to the files directly and open/play them using other programs.

Me and some fellows at work have been noticing a significant increase in the time it takes to copy with base point and paste into a different drawing file. Maybe it is just the 2012 version of the software , what has changed or how to minimize the time this takes. I don't see any reason it should take up to a minute to copy a few polylines from one drawing to the next.

I have an issue where we print a set of drawings from SSM and a couple of the drawings (not the complete set) had detail call outs with hashtags where the field didn't update.
This is with the FIELDEVAL setting for these drawings at 31. You can open that drawing and print it and the callouts populate fine. I had another user in the same office try and print the drawings 2 weeks later and the callouts populated.
I tried right after that (I am in a different office 45 miles away) and the callouts didn't populate. I"m thinking this has got to be some type of network latency issue because it's very sporadic.

I just updated to the latest version of Edge Animate CC yesterday. Great new features, by the way! However, I have noticed that with a simple file that I created with the new version, there is a 3-4 second loading latency when previewing a file and when launching the published version. This is not the case with files that I created in the previous version and have not updated.
Example: I have a gray rectangle element that covers the entire stage, and I have an action on creationComplete to hide the element. I see the rectangle immediately on launch, but it takes 3-4 seconds to hide.

I was using Ulead VideoStudio SE and 12.0 without any issues but ever since I tried a trial version of X3 or X4 I'm unable to render videos properly with SE and 12.0 using SmartRender. What happens is after 8 minutes, the sound of the video stops and when the sound comes back on, the frames start freezing. This issue occurred before and I removed the trial versions and reinstalled all my drivers, etc. to fix the problem. But now I tried doing the same thing and it's not working. I even tried to cleanup everything of Ulead and Corel on my system, but the render issue still occurs.

I'm having a technical question with a customers Revit Architecture 2012. The project he's working on is about 90 Megabytes in size, and the references are about 60MB. He is storing these on a network share. Unfortunately they are still on a 100MBit network. As Workstation he is using a DELL Precision M6500 (notebook) with the following specs:
when he is trying to zoom in on and out of this project, he is experiencing high waiting time between the zoom-steps, sometimes unbearably long. As the notebook is brandnew and tested I didn't blame it on faulty hardware. So I suggested to run the same Project on a different machine.
I don't know much about the software architecture of Revit Architecture, so i don't know which hardware component is mostly stressed when zooming in and out (guessing the gfx, because the project needs to be recalculated?). I guess there lies the bottleneck.The customer requested an answer, which hardware needs to be exchanged / upgraded in order to accelerate the zoom-steps, decrease the latency.

I have about 20 models and I need to animate them where they all follow the first one, similar to the After Effects "Repeater" function.. Think 'chorus line' or 'kaleidescope'.. Is there a script or plugin that will automate this? Anything the first one does, the others follow, but with possible timing delays or offsets..

I just upgraded my computer by doubleing the RAM to 4Gb. Now CorelDraw (12 on XP SP3) is lagging. Almost every time I switch tools, make a change, zoom in or out, or do anything, it sits there doing squat, totally unresponsive for about a minute (yes, I do my 60 seconds) or more, then suddenly catches up. This is an excedingly frustrating if not outright impossible way to work.
My project is at the stage where yes, I NEED Draw. I need it working. Quickly and effeciently. The way it was before the memmory capacity was Improved.

For example, if I save a gif, and I set the frame delay to 33ms each (about 30fps), then load that gif into Gimp, it says the layers are set to 30ms each.
Is this a quirk with Gimp or a limitation of the gif format itself?

I am getting a one minute delay when I edit a photo and close out of editor to go back to organizer. I have a new macbook pro retina. Never had the problem on windows. The rest of the elements processes are very fast on this computer.

When we print from a read-only drawing file that is stored on our local drawing fileserver (a PC on our network that is used to store all finished drawing files) it can take several minutes to open the Plot screen and several more minutes to actually print the drawing. It doesn't matter which printer we use to print to. Some of us have had this problem since AutoCAD 2010 but some have had it only since 2013. However if we use an old AutoCAD 2007 there is no printing delay problem so the server doesn't seem to be the source of the problem.
If we print from a drawing file on our own systems (which is actually working off a local network server unless the server is down then we are working off our own computers that will re-sync with the server when it comes back on line) then there is no delay. I have made some local files read-only to see if that was the trigger but no, they printed just fine.

I recently purchased the VX3/PSX3 bundle. So far we love the flexibility and ease of creating a project. We do a lot of transferring, such as 8mm and VHS for family and friends. Our most recent project included five 20 minute reels of 8mm film. The finished project with menus and credits was just about 1 hour 58 minutes with a size of 6.6GB.
We have a a Blu-Ray burner as well as a DL DVD burner so that size should be fine since we were going to just make a DL DVD. I then went to the SHARE tab and selected the "Create a movie" link. I chose the mpg option just out of familiarity. All went well until I noticed that it broke my project into 2 seperate movies (movie.mpg and movie001.mpg). The first was a bit larger than the second, but almost equal in time. I thought maybe I did something wrong and reran it. The second try yielded basically the same result...two movie files, but this time the second was only 9 minutes long while the first was 1 hour 48 mins. I do not want the extra links on the DVD Menu. The cousin that this is going to is NOT very electronics savvy and the extra buttons on the menu may cause a complete mental breakdown. How I can keep this 6.6GB project as one complete file for DVD authoring? I can forward along file info if need be when I get home.

I recently purchased VideoStudio Pro X4. I have been making movies just fine, but now I am wanting to try some new things such as effects. Here are some things I would like to try, but I am not sure if VideoStudio has this capability:
1. Add explosions to movies.
2. Also other effects like lightning coming from fingertips.
3. I have seen in other video clips where people have added a mouth to various inanimate objects such as a wall or fruit or whatever. The object would remain still while the mouth spoke. I am not sure if this is clear or not.
I noticed that some have used Adobe After Effects. Is this what is needed? It seems kind of expensive.

I have a created a video using my Sony XE105 handycam in HD and edited it successfully using X2.
I can then export it to WMV format and view the file in superb quality in windows media player. However, when I try to export into FLV format, I get the message about converting and it sits at 0%. I have left it for over a half hour without any movement before deeming it as having "hung" and trying again.
I'd really like to export movies in FLV format rather than WMV?

I have done all the updates etc that Corel has suggested and I still cannot make a 3D movie. I do all the steps to make it and when I play it back the audio is there but there is either a white or black screen.

I have VisualStudio Pro X5.I would like to create a DVD that will have 3 movies (Titles). I would like to a have Play All button on the menu page so that when selected the 3 movies will play in sequence without returning to the menu after playing a movie. In addition I would also be able to select each each movie individually from the menu. Control would return to the menu after playing the movie.

I have a bundle of .mpg movies with unwanted sound included. Can I remove it?
Background: Took a bunch of ancient 8mm movies to a store and had them put on a CD. They came back in sets of .bup, .ifo, and .vob files. VideoStudio Pro X6 inducted them as .mpg files. VS was recently bought in a box; allowed update after installation. How to check the version.

In the past I created a movie and put it onto a DVD. It was created with another software program called NCH VideoPad, if I recall. It worked fine. I loved the DVD's special effects and various other screen choices from its main menu. It has numerous effects on the initial title screen, and included 3 links at the bottom which allowed users to select different scenes, and more.
Is there someway that VS X5 PRO can do the same thing, but within the video, and not by creating a DVD? I know that description is rather vague, but since I can't show you the DVD movie, I don't know how else to say it.
I wish there was some way to have VS import the DVD movie I created, so that I could use it and modify it.

I have the following problem,I have to make movie in autocad 2012 for 3D project I have drawn. It's big building and the movie should be for about 1 minute presentation which I have to send to an e-mail (so no more than 10 mb) ,but when I make movie of 60 seconds the size of the file is way too big (about 20 mb). Is there a way to make smaller files or I should use another software? I have tryed all the three formats available in autocad.
