Dec 8, 2011On both LR1.4 and LR2, the develop presets always showed along the left navigation bar (antique photo, etc.). I don't use them often, but I like to have them handy. A couple months ago they disappeared from LR2 navigation bar and I just downloaded LR3 and the develop presets are in a named folder but I can't figure out how to get them to show up on the left navigation bar again.

Nov 27, 2013I am trying to reorganize my develop presets. When I go to the Library/Application Support/Adobe/Lightroom/Develo Presets/Lightroom Presets, the folder is empty. I know I have them somewhere, because I can see them in the develop module. My user presets are there, but all the defaults are missing. Are they buried within the Lightroom programme? I would love to find them in order to make things neat and tidy and be able to back up/sync with my other catalogues.

Mar 7, 2012I have a big concern. How can all my develop presets (more than 300 now!) be converted correctly so that the changes that one of them applied to one pic in the 2010 PV are the _same_ changes the same preset applies in the 2012 PV?
I'm not talking of Adobe LR presets (those that are installed by default and that come along with the LR itself) ... I'm quite sure Adobe has made a good job keeping them coherent with those of LR 3.x . I'm talking about of the huge numbers of largely available (on the net) presets .
I'd like to know if they will be converted _CORRECTLY_ with the 2012 PV so that they will work applying the _SAME_ _VISUAL_ changes as they did in LR 3.x .
Of course I'm available to manually edit the old presets, if necessary but how? Logically, there would not need to be a new process version if all they did was put a new UI on the same controls the old process version contained. The new controls set values for new algorithms (fill light apparently the most obvious) that don't work like the old algorithms, and can't produce the same results, but I'm pretty sure that the same visual results are still reachable somehow!
And I still need the old presets working as usually they did as a steady coherent base for my retouch workflow...

Aug 30, 2013I'm finding that my presets are disappearing a few minutes after launching the program. I checked and have installed my presets in the proper folder where it would look for them. I see them when I grab the handle on the left and everything drags up or down. But I begin to two finger drag up and down, the handle on the left stays put and the presets drag up out of sight and a large, blank gap appears below. I've also had it where the presets have disappeared and have had to relaunch LR5 to get them back.

Mar 11, 2012When I run a preset that I made in LR3.6, the develop Basic panel reverts to the LR3 version. Clicking on "Reset" restores the LR4 version, but undoes what the preset was supposed to do, of course.

Nov 25, 2012setting up presets for making adjustments to more than one image, I keep hearing about doing that by way of the "quick develop" panel, but I don't like that panel... its a bit too basic or something... I don't like making settings where I can't see a bit more about what I'm doing.
Is there a way to create presets when in the Develope mode? I don't see any clues on the the basic panel, but hopefully I'm missing something. Is there not a way to record the settings I've made inside the basic panel into a preset?
Lightroom :: 3.6 Stopped Showing / Updating Export Presets?
Jul 17, 2012LR 3.6, Win 7 ultimate 64 bit. Yes, I am so afraid of all the talk I hear about LR 4 being slow (it DID slowed down from 2 to 3) that I still work in 3.6 It is no longer showing/updating my export presets (see left column). Whether I add folders from the OS or from withing LR, they are not visible. If I select them in FOLDER CHOOSE (see right side of the screen shot), then it will export them properly to the right folder but I have no way to UPDATE FOLDER WITH CURRENT SETTINGS.

Oct 8, 2012In the past, I have been changing my default image size to a 2:3 format by selecting it from the drop down list while in the Develop module or by pressing R. After adjusting the image, it used to display 2:3 under the lock, but now it is going back to AS SHOT.
I am using a Windows 7 machine with LR 4.2.
I like knowing I have a custom crop ratio, but have no idea if it is being applied by looking at images in LR.

Nov 28, 2012i imported images into LR3 and was about to close the catalog when i got a backup reminder popping up on my screen. so i did the obvious thing and clicked Backup. I later opened the catalog to find to my dismay, details of the each photo showing up in the Develop screen. This doesnt show when viewing in the Library mode though. so each photo has the following details showing on the upper left corner of the image
File Name-8. CR2
date and time
image size
how do i get rid of this unsightly details so i can work on the images?

Jun 11, 2012 I managed to get my catalog transferred from Elements 8 and it is now working well. Feeling confident in the Library module I went to move on to the Develop module and now I have another problem, the photos are not showing up to edit. They are visible in the film strip and the top left corner, but not the actual screen. All the metadata is also available.
Possibly a related problem (which may also need a resolution) is:While all the data is there in Library module it is showing metadata conflict for many photos.
BTW some additional information which may be relevant.
-I have already upgraded to 4.1.
-I have the photos on a network drive.
-Photos are Raw DNG format

May 26, 2012I am using Lightroom 4.1 RC2 on a Windows 7 64 bit system with dual monitors. When I am in the develop mode and make edit adjustments on any setting the 2nd monitor does not update. If I move to another image then come back the image is updated but it does not work in real time. I have never had this problem before and it worked fine in Lightroom V4.0

I recently upgraded my computer and am now using Window 7 instead of Windows XP. Neither new downloads nor old downloads are visible. Why doesn't LR recognize them? Aug 12, 2012I am running Lightroom 4.1 on two Macs, both running 10.7.4. On one of the machines the Alt/Option key does not work properly in the Develop module.
When I hold down the Alt/Option key and move the Exposure or Blacks slider I expect to see the clipping display. Instead this action moves the whole of the sidebar of the user interface. I can move it to any place on the screen and off the edge of the screen. Clearly this should not be possible.
The problem machine has a Wacom Intuos 3 tablet attached, so I have tried updating the Wacom drivers, and also removing the Wacom software completely. Neither solves the problem. My other Mac does not exhibit this problem.
