Yesterday, Library Filters worked in Lightroom 4, but today they do not. Whenever I pull up the Metadata filters and select a parameter, the title of the filter switches to "Custom Filter" and nothing is selected.
View 1 RepliesI can't use the library filters in collections as they return no results despite there being valid search criteria. Images with one star rating are not shown when filters are set to rated in the collection. The filters do return results when searching in collection sets however.

Nik Filters do not work with LR4. Contacted Nik three times today. At their request, un-installed all filters, then re-installed, to no avail. They then said "some are having success un-installing Elements, then re-installing." Tried it to no avail.

View 6 Replies View RelatedI'm using Lightroom 5.2RC. Not sure if this started happening with the 5.2RC version or if it's been an issue for a while.
While in Library mode, when I choose a library search filter preset, say all 5 stars, and then toggle the filter off and on again, the search criteria randomizes to something wildly different than what I was just searching for, for example, adding text and metadata to the search queries when I only had star attributes selected a few seconds before.
I've experimented with turning the filter lock icon on and off and that seems to have no effect. Switching between folders in my catalog and toggling search off and on, results in the same random search criteria being generated.
if there are any tutorials using PIP for VS X3. Also have found that some of the FX filters do not work and I was of the understanding that they were included with purchase = such as Ripple and Twist? I sometimes get a message when trying to use one of these FX filters asking me to register - what is that for is it for the newsletter from Blue FX?? I do not want the feature if it is only a trial and then you discover you can't remove it like previously.

I click on the layer in the layers pallette to be sure that the layer is selected, and it still won't work. View 2 Replies View Related In "Categories" of the filters window, it can be selected things which composes its mass, such as Mass Exterior Wall, Mass Glazing, Mass Roof. And these things can be clicked only after its mass become energy model.
I set up a filter rule of Mass Roof and applied it to V/G Filters of a view, but it did not displayed in Analyze Mass Model, the same as Mass Exterior Wall, Mass Glazing.
I'm trying to find a way of filtering the 'work in progress' section visibilities from a plan by view filters. The filter I use is 'Sheet Name' equal '<None>'. Then turning off visibility. It works when used in the Browser organisation filters but not in the view filter for the sheets.
I don't want to create a check box or dialogue box for the sheet as this will add to the required maintenance.
Zooming the timeline by the shortcuts (keystrokes '+' / '-') don't work if you mark a clip or a title in the timeline and the library view changes by the new marking.
Example 1:
Select in the library panel the effect or title view. Mark a clip and the library panel changes to clip view.
Now the shortcut for zooming "keystroke +" or "Keystroke -" don't work.
Now mark another clip in the timeline where the library view don't change, the shortcuts work.
Example 2:
Mark a clip first and then mark a title in the timeline. Because the library view changed shortcut for zoom don't work.
Mark another title. Now the library view don't change and the shortcut work again.
I downloaded the full package of mold design library and installed it following instruction. Unfortunately, it does not work properly. I failed to insert a mold base after creating core and cavity. The pop up window of Vendor and Type is empty.

And everything I find about blur is the new blur filters....

View 1 Replies View RelatedI have hardly ever used filters for any of my work as I have preferred using Xara's native tools and effects to get what I wanted. But recently, I was inspired by some animation work which used backgrounds painted in Photoshop. They used a lot of textures which enhanced the look of the animation and so I thought I'd try to simulate it within Xara.
It works very well and I can export it as a PSD retaining the layers and Alpha channel. But here come my questions.
1. How can I remove the two Alien Skin demo plugins as I already have the full versions.
2. Why don't the native Photoshop plugins--Artistic, Sketch, etc.--seem to work?
I just downloaded a bunch of filters and I dragged them into the filters directory under plugins, but when I open photoshop, none of the filters are there.
View 4 Replies View RelatedI am working on a dormitory project and need to provide a required light and ventilation schedule. I have figured out how to create a schedule for each level, but I want to isolate only the Dormitories and the Kitchenette (weed out all the other rooms such as corridor, elevator, storage, toilets, showers, stairs, trash, electrical, etc.).
I tried using seclusion filters, but there are too many items to exclude and cannot fit them all into the 4 filter categories. I am trying to just get the rooms that begin with 'D' and 'K'. I tried providing the variable 'Begins With' for D and in the next line 'Begins With' K, but then nothing shows up.
Is there a way to provide information to the filter that would allow it to show only rooms beginning with D AND K? I cannot seem to get it to work. I have been playing around with separation values within one filter category (i.e. 'Begins With' D, K) but apparently you cannot add multiple variables within one of the filter items.

View 5 Replies View RelatedLightroom 4 - My Nik filters are not in the Edit version of Elements when I want to edit a picture from the Lightroom Bibliotheque with cmd+E, because Ligthtroom use a back up copy of Ellements 11 that is on an extern back up drive (i don't understand how that is possible). My Nik filters are not on that drive but well on my Mac's Hard Disc.How can I tell to Lightroom to use the Mac's Hard Disc version that is in the Dock ?
View 3 Replies View RelatedI've read a few similiar discussion threads but none match exactly my prob.I have a collection (within a collection set) of items which have mixed photos that are flagged as picked and/or rated as 2 or 3 stars.
Invoking filters while in the collection - either flagged items or items >+ 2* don't work - it's not just flagged or rated items - no filtering seems to work on my collection.
Lots of other unusual behavior in collections that I can't detail right now, but something is defintely wrong.
Is there any way to stack preset filters on photos?
I remember back in Lightroom 3, you could select some filters, like Cold Tone, then select another filter and would apply itself on top of the Cold Tone filter.
Now, it seems in Lightroom 4, every time you select a filter, it completely overwrites all the settings of previous ones.
When I first installed LR5 I was able to copy Radial Filters by holding down the Alt key and moving the filter round. I could copy the filter as much as I wanted. However this action now just moves rather than copies the filter. Using AltGr does it but with reduced effect so pretty useless.
View 5 Replies View RelatedI have the latest LR 4.1 on a Mac. I'm working on a catalog of 3002 images. I've flagged some that I wanted to retouch. Then the retouched one, I give them the 5 star status. So, when I work, I just turn on the FLAGGED filters to see the pictures I previsouly selected. Now, I wanted to go back to ALL my image. So, I thought it would have been as easy as selecting: FILTERS OFF at the bottom right menu in the LIBRARY MODULE, but that doesn't change much. Acutally, I think it doesn't change anything. So, I thought, ok, I'll turn the little switch next to the FILTER menu. I see then FILTERS OFF. That doesn't change a thing ! So, I know I have 3000 images, but I'm stuck inside a catalog that doesn't allow me to see them (?) I realized that by pressing the little flags next to this menu, it gives me 3 options:
- FILTER BASED ON FLAG STATUS
- FILTER BASED ON FLAG STATUS (UNFLAGGED ONLY)
- FILTER BASED ON FLAG STATUS (REJECTED ONLY)
But none seems to really get seeing all my picture, flagged and unflagged one.
How can I just see all the photos, flagged and unflagged together ?
When I send an LR photo for editing in PS CC, some of the filters are greyed out: artistic, brush strokes, distort, pixelate, sketch, and texture. but when I open the photo directly in PS, they are there.

View 1 Replies View RelatedAsus motherboard, i7, 930. 24 gig Kingston HyperX ram. Windows 7 Professional 64 bit. 5 SATA hard drives: 3 are WD 7200s; Driive C is a Plextor SSD and Drive G (where LR and Photoshop are installed), is an Intel SSD.
I've had LR 3 and 4 and 4.1, 4.2 and 4.3. I have several hard drives. All the LR programs are installed on my G drive.
This time when I installed the update to 4.4, it did install on the G drive, but instead of creating a folder in Program Files, all the files, including the executables, simply installed in a long long row under Program Files and under the folders for the previous versions of LR. It did indeed install 4.4, but it's a mess and I can't figure out why there was no folder created.
When going into LR my copyright is gone and all the various styles of copyright I'd created in the Watermarks folder are unavailable. I also have 2 Nik Filters and 2 Topaz filters - they too are unavailable from the upgrade to 4.4. I also had a plugin for Zenfolio which is also missing and I can't find any plugin folder. Where is the plugin folder supposed to be?
It has never been clear to me which folders are supposed to reside on the same disk as the main LR program and which folders can be kept on another drive. Perhaps this is part of why I lost so much information.
I do have backups and I've been able to retrieve a lot - but I would like to be able to have the correct folders in the correct directories and drives. For example, when I updated to the new camera raw and dng, it was installed on my drive C, as it usually is. But the LR 4.4 files installed in a big list, although fortunately on the correct drive. And I have to reset all my settings, all my watermarks, my plugins and my filters.
Why did this happen and what can I do to repair it properly both for the best functioning of LR 4.4 and to not have this repeat itself with the next upgrade.
I tried opening the images that I applied lightroom filters on, and the images did not change at all, though when I go to lightroom the filters are present. Does that mean that lightroom filters only work inside lightroom? Is there a way to save the photos with the filter(s) applied?
View 4 Replies View RelatedUsing LR4 (not 4.1) and Win7 Home Premium. Catalog had been upgraded from LR3 and LR4 catalog was working fine until now. I've been using LR since the beginning.Two problems, probably related. 106K photos over two drives, almost 3Tb.
At the catalog level, there are no previews. Normally previews of all 106K photos would be displayed. Message is "Click the "import" button to begin." Filter function does not work Message: "No photos match the filter".At the drive level, there are no previews. Message is "No photos in selected folder" Filter function does not work Message: "No photos match the filter". At the folder level, everything is fine, except two folders give the same message "No photos in selected folder" Filter function does not work in these two folders: Message: "No photos match the filter" 14K photos between the two bad folders. Dozens, hundreds, of other folders and subfolders are fine. Filter function works fine at folder and subfolder level. Collections are fine, including photos in the two folders giving the mesage "No photos in selected folder"
Tried to import the missing folders. Won't import because they're already in the catalog. Won't import even if I uncheck "Don't import suspected duplicates". Exported as a catalog one of the "No photos in selected folder" folders. It appeared to create a viable catalog with previews, search filters, etc. I edited a few photos with no problems. Although it did give a message saying several hundred previews were missing. But they seem to be there anyway.Deleted the folder from the catalog and imported from catalog the working folder catalog that I just created. Exported as a catalog the other "No photos in selected folder" folder. Same result as the first bad folder. I.e. It appeared to create a viable catalog with previews, search filters, etc. Although it did give a message saying several hundred previews were missing. But they seem to be there anyway. Haven't done anything with this second folder catalog. Intriguing, the same message about missing previews. The actual files and *.xmp files are in the bad folders.
