I have a catalog of an event which spanned over a few days, and so I made a few collections. I made collection sets for Day 1, Day 2, etc, and in those collection sets I have two folders - General and People.
When I enter say, the General collection for Day 3 and I flag a photo in there as 'rejected', the photo when viewed in 'All photographs' does not show the Rejected flag.
I flagged a few pictures with the P key, and I want to show them (with other creterias) in a smart collection. So I build a smart collection with the Pick Flag is flagged. But no pictures are showing in my smart collection.
If I do the same with the rejected flag, they appear in the collection...
Do I need to check database consistency or what?
When I use a keyword to find a collection of photographs, I then want to be able to select a subset of them based on ratings, say all 4 stars or above. But when I try to do that, Lightroom displays all photos with 4 stars or above, not just the ones with that keyword. Earlier versions of lightroom handled this well. Is this ever going to be fixed or is there another way to do this.

There must be, but I just don't see it or must have turned it off.
Just to be clear... For example, I have a folder with 150 images; I've flagged 37 of them; rated 25 two stars and 15 red label. Is there some counter or other way to see at a glance just how many there are filtered?
When i use lightroom on 2 monitors i look mostly at the loupe view on the second monitor to judge or cull my pictures. I can see the resultant stars, colors and reject flags on the grid view on the primary monitor. but i cant see the ratings on the loupe view. I sometimes get confused as to whether i actually rated or color coded a particular photo in a similar series, but i have to look back at the primary monitor to make sure. Am I missing something? Is there some way to have a large view of the picture but include rating info on the same screen?

(This seems to be different from the "missing" problem - I understand how that can happen...) don't know where to look and don't know if I have lost those images somehow? I am using NextGEN to export images to WordPress. NextGEN created Publishing collections in Lightroom to match those in my WordPress blog. My problem is that they are not Smart Collections.
Can I remove all red flags globally? All in folder? (LIghtroom 3)
Can all flags in a folder be reassigned at once? For example, changing all currnent red flags to purple?
I have tried this on 2 differernt Brother MFC 9970CDW printers, one of which is brand new. I have tried all the options in the printer dialog both in photoshop and the printer. I can print other photographs in inDesign and other products perefectly on the same printers. However, photos process in photoschop cc have the same problems even if place in indesign and printed from there.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI have the latest LR 4.1 on a Mac. I'm working on a catalog of 3002 images. I've flagged some that I wanted to retouch. Then the retouched one, I give them the 5 star status. So, when I work, I just turn on the FLAGGED filters to see the pictures I previsouly selected. Now, I wanted to go back to ALL my image. So, I thought it would have been as easy as selecting: FILTERS OFF at the bottom right menu in the LIBRARY MODULE, but that doesn't change much. Acutally, I think it doesn't change anything. So, I thought, ok, I'll turn the little switch next to the FILTER menu. I see then FILTERS OFF. That doesn't change a thing ! So, I know I have 3000 images, but I'm stuck inside a catalog that doesn't allow me to see them (?) I realized that by pressing the little flags next to this menu, it gives me 3 options:
- FILTER BASED ON FLAG STATUS
- FILTER BASED ON FLAG STATUS (UNFLAGGED ONLY)
- FILTER BASED ON FLAG STATUS (REJECTED ONLY)
But none seems to really get seeing all my picture, flagged and unflagged one.
How can I just see all the photos, flagged and unflagged together ?
I am trying to create a new collection but I find that I do not have a "Set collection as target" (or whatever the correct phrase is, since I don't have it.) I have right clicked and examined all menu options.
View 6 Replies View RelatedWhen I remove a folder from my catalog and re-import it later Lr has saved all of my adjustments, color labels, star ratings, etc. However, Lr doesn't save the flag status. In other words it removes all the flags.
I'm using Lr 4.3
NEF (raw) files.
The sidecar files are all present.
Running LR 3.5 v5.1 XP. All view options are checked, doesn't show if cropped, adjustments, pick, etc. And, it doesn't show in Grid view. Works well in LR 3.4.1 v6.1.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI do most of my work on my desktop, and all the files are held there with xmp files. On my laptop, I import the photos in their folders, but leave the files on the desktop, and I am now going to be doing that more with the new smart preview option.
The one problem I have, though, is that the pick flags are not in the metadata, and therefore don't cross to the laptop. Is there any way this can be done? I use the laptop to show others, and to allow them to choose the photos they want, so it would be good to have the flags and the colour badges, and for the traffic to go in both directions.
How can i print contactsheets with labels, flags, stars.... in the print? I 'm working on a collection of + 7.000 files and i need a printed catalog of all the files with all the selection marks on the file.

View 1 Replies View RelatedAll photographs collection contains more photos than in folders - (Using LR 4) There are about 6k more photos that are in my catalog (All Photographs) than what is showing up in my folders below. All of my photos are located on an external hard drive. I have them organized by year. So for example, if in LR I click on 'All Photographs' in the library module, I can see hundreds of photos from 2009. I can also see all these photos on my external hard drive under the 2009 folder. However , these photos do not show up under the folders in LR. I've tried 'synchronizing' my folder in LR, but it thinks all of the photos are duplicates, since they are indeed already in the catalog (just not the folder)

If I keep the original no problem, I can remove the virtual copy however if I choose the virtual copy I have to keep the original copy or export the virtual one. Is there a way I can make the original the virtual copy and the virtual the original. As things stand I have loads of photos showing in lightroom that I do not want.

Is there a way of recombing the two so that lightroom only uses the photographs at one location? It is difficult to work out which copy of the photo on which disk has the metadata asigned to it.
