View 2 RepliesBefore I pull the trigger on deleting the "Removed" photos from my collection and from the file, is there an easy to show all the photos in the collection with the Removed photos (as it is now showing) then without the Removed photos? In other words, I'd like to see what's left after I click Delete Removed Photos.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI flagged a few pictures with the P key, and I want to show them (with other creterias) in a smart collection. So I build a smart collection with the Pick Flag is flagged. But no pictures are showing in my smart collection.
If I do the same with the rejected flag, they appear in the collection...
Do I need to check database consistency or what?
Is there somewhere in the interface that shows a counter of the number of flagged (or rated or labeled) photos in the folder or selection?
There must be, but I just don't see it or must have turned it off.
Just to be clear... For example, I have a folder with 150 images; I've flagged 37 of them; rated 25 two stars and 15 red label. Is there some counter or other way to see at a glance just how many there are filtered?

I used to use Canon Digital Photo Professional (DPP) and never had these issues. I spend this whole evening trying to find a solution to my problem but for nothing. What can I do? Did I waste 80 € on a software that is useless to me!?
View 10 Replies View Relatedwhen I send photos from Lightroom 5 to Photoshop (CS6), make changes and return to Lightroom, I will see a new frame with the changes I have just made. However, I notice that I lose my original enhancement settings from Lightroom. In other words, the enhancements on the photo are still there, but the sliders from the right hand tool bar have all been reset. Basically all the changes have been 'baked in' to the photo, so I can no longer make modify/delete the enhancements I originally made. This is particularly important when working with brushes.
Is there anything I can do to preserve these modifiers as I go back and forth between Lightroom and Photoshop?
I have a catalog of an event which spanned over a few days, and so I made a few collections. I made collection sets for Day 1, Day 2, etc, and in those collection sets I have two folders - General and People.
When I enter say, the General collection for Day 3 and I flag a photo in there as 'rejected', the photo when viewed in 'All photographs' does not show the Rejected flag.
I am using PSE 11 on my PC, the OS of which is Windows 7 (Professional). Is there any way I can copy the images and labels to an iPad?

View 1 Replies View RelatedMy current website has Flash-based galleries created in LR using SlideShowPro. I want to create an alternate web gallery for viewing on the iPad and iPhone. Any LR web gallery plug-in for this purpose? If possible, I'd like the gallery to work the way the iPhone Camera Roll works, but at very least, I'd like viewers to be able to simply flick their way through the images.SlideShowPro Director does this, but I'm not quite ready to take on its complexity.)

Any way to use my Ipad to make selects (flag for picks) of my lightroom library? I find a hard time believing there isn't already a solution for this.
View 3 Replies View Relatedhow to get these two to work together? The support specifically mentions CS3 working with it and even mentions that CS3 will use ACR 4.6. When I tell LR4 to open a RAW file produced by my Canon XSi in Photoshop, I get a message that "this version of LR may require camera raw 7.0 for full compatibility". Then I can choose "render using lightroom", "open anyway", or "cancel". If I choose "open anyway" it opens up Photoshop but nothing else happens.
Eventually after a few minutes LR4 starts telling me it couldn't open Photoshop (even though it "magically" opened it a few minutes earlier) and when I click off that error, it comes up again, then a new error saying it couldn't send the file to Photoshop. After clicking away that message it then proceeds to make a copy of the file as a .psd (which I did set up in the LR4 preferences for external editor) and it opens up.
In the Library module or Develop module, select the photo you want to edit. Then, choose Photo > Edit In Adobe Photoshop. If you’re opening a camera raw or DNG file in Photoshop CS3 (10.0.1) or later, it opens directly.
I've been able to copy images in an indirect way (LR to an earmarked folder on my PC's hard drive, then to the iPad using Apple's I-Tunes). But editing and arranging images is fairly awkward.
There are LR functions to upload to some web sites, e.g., Flicker, but none to devices like the iPad. (Exporting to smaller sites such as Nikonians would be nice but I suspect there's not enough demand for Adobe to bother with this embellishment.
Is it likely that export functions will be expanded to include the iPad and other devices?
I know I can use Iphoto or Aperture and ICloud but can I do it somehow using LR4?

I store all my pictures on external hard drives and am hoping to avoid bringing processed photos onto my computer hard drive. I have done a search on the forum and have not seen a recommended work flow.
View 3 Replies View RelatedThese formats no longer show on my IPad 3 at one time they did. I have created slideshows that are linked through a URL to my website for several years now I have created them in 720p format and been able to veiw on my IPad 3, IPhone, Web etc. Recently however, they are not viewable - I get a play button with a slash through it. However, if I create a slideshow with the paremeters 960x540 it does work on the IPad 3. All these formats still work on my IPad 1, which makes me think it has something to do with the new OS?

View 2 Replies View RelatedI understand how to export files right from lightroom and save them as jpegs....
let's say i do some post processing in lightroom but want to do a couple of things in elements afterwards. i understand how to get the worked on image into elements (photo--edit in), but the file that is now in elements cannot be saved as a jpeg...is there a step i am missing, or do i have to get that image back into lightroom to then export out as a jpeg? if so how do you get the reworked file back into lightroom with the elements changes still intact?
I have created a lightroom 3 publish service that will export each photo as a huge TIFF file over a slow broadband connection to an external server. The external server creates 3 compressed JPEG files from the TIFF file.
I think this is too slow and that it would be much better if the lightroom publish service created those three files and then sent them over the internet. Please note I am using Mac OS X 10.8.5 and Lightroom 3.
My question is, what would be the best way to accomplish this task? Can lightroom compress the photo 3 times, or is it best to create another script on the local machine to accept each file, compress them, and then send them via the internet?
I want to send my pictures to an online printing company to get my prints. Do I use the "Print" module to set up how I want them printed or is that set up on the printing company website. In other words, is the Print module just used if you have a printer?

View 5 Replies View RelatedI'm new to Lightroom and was attempting to prepare a file to send to a print lab. I want to produce a large format single image with dimensions of 52" x 36". I've prepared this in the 'print' module but when I press 'print to file...' it warns me that the file is 760mb and I may run out of memory! Is this file to large to sent to a printer, how can I reduce the size of the file without reducing the quality of the print? or is this just a standard file size for a large format printed image?
View 2 Replies View RelatedSometimes when working on a timeline, I come across a clip that needs to be reshot or otherwise modified.
Now I could use a marker but markers don't stick to clips and don't have any visible flyouts like in Vegas, making labeling rather pointless.
So the next idea would be to change the color of the clip on the timeline so it is 'at-a-glance' visible that it needs to be dealt with before the sequence is pumped out.
Kind of like a highlighter in a text document.
Before submitting it to wishlist, I'm interested in hearing thoughts of other users.
I've recently received a small batch of calendars from a local commercial printers. The colours are OK, but do not match the originals, especially the blue's. I've had similar problems with greetings cards from a different printer. The problem appears to be that I supply the original files in the RGB color space, but they print using CMYK.
I Raw process using Lightroom 4, with adjustments if necessary being made using Elements 10. To the best of my knowledge neither of these programs have the option of editing or saving in the CMYK color space. For more accurate colours is my only option to purchase the full version of Photoshop (CS6 or CC), then convert and colour correct my images in CMYK mode before sending to the printers ?.
I'm unable to drag a group of photos or even single photos to a publish folder. In this case it's SmugMug. What is the correct method?
