On LR 4 and now 5, the shades of grey used to distinguish the selected vs, not selected images in the filmstrip at the bottom of the workspace are too close together making it difficult to see what has been selected. Is there someway to control the color and/or the shade of grey used for each to make it easier to tell at a glance which image(s) is currently selected?
View 1 RepliesI've encountered a strange issue in PSDs I've inherited from another designer.
When I have a text layer selected with the type tool active, the font size reads correctly (say, 40px). When I actually select the text with the type tool, the font size gives a strange number (say, 38.74px).

I just recently started having an issue with lightroom 5.3, I import a raw file into lightroom then edit it in photoshop (through lightroom) then i save the file through photoshop and it appears next to the original file in lightroom. When I export the edited image it also exports the original unedited file as well? how to change this? Its very annoying having the original copy of the file exported as well.

It opens the PREVIOUSLY selected photo.What do you do when you select the adjustment tools, but only the plus cursor appears, meaning every click expands the image, no adjustments made. Or when I send an adjusted nef photo to PS as smart objet, but it looks different in PS? Or when I "pick"a photo but no flag appears?

Product - Lightroom 5 on OS/X 10.8.4.
I select two images in the develop module filmstrip to pick the best one for export, the images are usually stacked in the Library.I use the side by side compare tool (C) to compare the images.I may go back to the develop module to adjust setting on one or both images.
At some point I will unselect the image I don't want to export in the filmstrip, then press Command + Shift + E to export.
LR will sometimes export both images even though only one is selected in the filmstrip.
If I go back to the Library before exporting then LR will only export the selected image.
I cannot get rid of the selected mask overlay while using the gradient tool. Pressing O doesn't have any effect, and in the toolbar, there IS a "show edit pins" option, but there is NO "show selected mask overlay" option. The mask appears to be permanently on, in blue.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI am new to the forum, but not new to LR. I already use it since 2.2, until version 2 was discontinued I used 2.7. I was perfectly happy with it, which is why I upgraded to LR5 a while ago. Now while the functionality is great I do have quite some issues with stability of the programm.
My biggest problem is another one, and it is really annoying + frustrating:
After having processed all pictures I export them to JPG, for that I select the picutures and the through the export item in the menue (the usual way).
- LR starts processing
- LR shows progress bar
- LR finishes BUT out of let's say 100 pictures (as an example) I get always get less pictures exported, sometimes only 20% exported, somtetimes 50% etc. (at ramdom, I cannot see any rule here). If I then do the "export as previous" and skip already available picutes I get the same issue.
Since LR 5.3 the issue is really bad, as for appr. 100 pictures I need 10- 15 runs until they alre all processed.
Sometimes it works to close LR and reopen it, then the number of picutres increases ==> looks a bit like a memory issues. But hey, I do NOT get ANY message that picutures have not been exported or allike. System finishes "a normal" just when checking the result I see that I miss photos. Also: missing photos are at ramdom out of the selection (not all at end or all in the beginning).
My system is a Intel I7 Windows 7 (32bit) German version, with LR 5.3 in German installed, I am using a 250GB SSD for the operating system and the programms + a 1 TB HD for the pictures and LR catalogs.
I just imported approximately 1500 raw images shot with my Nikon D800. Approximately 75 of the files would not import and I got LR4 unable to import message for those files.
All images were NEFs and most seem to be in clusters among the 1500 files. The images all show up in CS5 Bridge and Camera Raw 6.7 and open just fine in Photoshop CS5. They will show up in LR4 if I convert them to DNGs.
I just figured out that this is happening only with images that were shot at a 16:9 ratio, all other images were shot at the default 2:3 ratio. I would still like to understand why images shot at 16:9 won't show up in LR4.
How do I retouch in LR4 on a Mac on selected areas for example in the highlights. It is very easyly done in Aperture 3 but it seems more complicated in LR4. Yes I am new with LR and have installed the Helpfile....but still.

I am in the development moduleI select all photos in my folderI activate the automatic synchonizationI change the selected user defined lens from the Tamron 70-200/2.8 (which is wrong) to the correct Tamron 28-75/2.8 (-> there's a known problem in the automatic detection of the different Tamron lenses because of the ID in the lenses, so automatic detection doesn't work - tell me if I am wrong!)The progress bar shows that it's writing the changes to the selected photos (which takes a moment)Then it seems to be synchronized and I continue workingAfter some photos it shows the 70-200 mm lens to be selected again!
So obviously it didn't sychronize all selected photos!
My system: Windows 8 64-Bit computer, 16 GB RAM
Since "upgrading" to lightroom 5.2 I've been plauged by it applying whatever I do to the image I'm on as well as the next image. The second image is not chosen - I only have one image selected. Whether I'm trying to do a correction, a crop, give it a number of stars, edit in Photoshop - it always affects two images at once.

When I am in lightroom's library (3.5), I would like to change the time of capture for multiple photos, and apply keywords.
However, when I perform either of those actions, the changes are only applied to the image shown in the "more brightly highlighted" image, not all that are selected.
Is there a setting I am missing? I just cannot seem to figure out why this is not working.
Also, I aplogize if my searching skills are weak and this has been covered already. I did attempt to see if this question has been answered before posting.
So yesterday I was editing tons of photos, using the Previous Button once at a time to add the previous photo's adjustments to the next selected photo and everything was a great.
Today I hit Previous and the selected photo AND every photo after it gets adjusted.
What could I have possibly hit to change the behavior of the button?
How can I export only one selected photo out of all synced photos? Every time I try it exports every one.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI'm using LR3.6. Haven't upgraded to 4.1 yet. I created a PS droplet that I want to use in my LR Externa Editor. Everything works fine as far as calling the droplet from LR. However, when I select multiple images in LR, then go to external editor and select "Edit In <droplet name>", wait for the "What do Edit" dialogue box, select "Edit a copy with LR adjustments" and hit "edit", it only takes the very first highlighted image in the selection into PS to run the droplet/actions. Even if I just choose the droplet name as an external editor preset (instead of the "Edit in" option), it still only applies to the first image in the highlighed selection.
On occassions I get lucky and get it to work for multiple images but I can never get it to work again. For instace, I tried it from the Library module (instead of the develop module) and it worked flawlessly. On the next set of images, I could not get it to work again.
I really need to be able to run this over night. By the way, I know that I can use the droplet on Export, but I really want to round trip my images from LR to PS and back into LR without having to Export, run droplet and reimport.
Today I took some pictures, mostly RAW, but a few JPGs. Lightroom 4.1RC, Windows 7 64bit..When I use the Lens Correction feature on the RAW photos, the proper lens is selected, a Nikon AF-S NIKKOR 16-85mm f/3.5-5.6G ED VR.
When I use the Lens Correction feature on the JPG photos, the proper lens is NOT selected, instead I see it has selected a Nikon AF-S DX NIKKOR 14-24 f/2.8G ED. In fact, next to "Model", I cannot even select the proper lens (the 16-85mm lens) because its not in the list.
I recently upgraded to LR5 from LR4.1. I have seen on several occasions where the selected image in the Develop Module does not appear. I can move back to the LIbrary view and the image appears, but when I switch back to the Develop Module, the image disappears and only a black box appears (dark grey really). This seems to happen after I have deleted flagged files using the ALT-Backspace shortcut. This has happeded when I deleted while in the Library and Develop Module, but does not happen every time. I have disabled the "Show photo on Mouse Over" view option. Prior to that, the preview window shows the selected or moused over photo.
The only thing I can do to get the develop module to work again is to restart Lightroom. It is very annoying when trying to go through 4000 photos!
LR4.2 and "Do not import selected duplicates" does not always work. Running a Mac, 10.6.8, I am cleaning up hard drives, organizing old files. There are times lightroom 4.2 (and before) does not recognize already imported raws and does not gray them out. These are backed up cards and folders of of raw images. Why is the "do not import selected duplicates" check box not working???!!!

View 3 Replies View RelatedAll of a sudden Lightroom stopped displaying all of the installed photos. The catalog folders display the correct number of photos, but every folder in the catalog displays the same messags.No Photos in Selected Folder. The photos are all in the correct folders on the hard drives but they don't even show up as not found just non-existent. When I hover over a folder an image appears in the Navigator, but nothing show in the Grid or Loupe view.
I tried a Sync, and the import dialog came up, saying there were no photos to import. If I go to Import and navigate to photos that have not been imported they appear, but if I go to a folder that contains previously imported photos Lightroom says No Photos Found. The photos themselves are not damaged and will open in Photoshop with no problem. The only change made recently is an upgrade to Maverick on my MacBook Pro Retina laptop.
I get an error code "file could not be moved to selected location" when trying to move an image or a folder from one hard drive to another within Lightroom.
I am migrating from a Windows-based PC to an iMac. I successfully used Lightroom to move all my images and catalogs from the PC hard file to a USB attached hard file. I was able to go to the iMac and move the Lightroom Catalog from USB attached drive to the Apple Macintosh drive. I was able to bring up Lightroom with moved Lightroom Catalog and work with all of my images. Then using Lightroom I was unable to move the images to the Macintosh hard drive without getting the error code above.
After checking the box, as I paint, the red color is no longer there.
Instead, I can barely make out a very faint pink that does not appear to cover the image. It no longer paint is red.
I have closed and reopened LR and I have warm and cold booted my computer (many times). The red is gone.
Is there a way to apply an entire keyword set to selected image (as opposed to applying keywords one by one from a set)?
View 2 Replies View RelatedLR3.5, Windows 7 64bit, Outlook 2010. After selecting several photos in LR3 to be exported as JPEGs to Outlook, the latter shows but one photo as an attachment. Trying to export those same photos again, I'm greeted with the following error, "Problem Exporting Files". The error message further states that the files already exist. I've had to send each photo separately to get around this hurdle.
