Lightroom :: No Export Dialogue Box?
Dec 19, 2012I am using Lightroom to version 4.3. The export feature stopped working. When in the library module if I choose a file(s) and click export I do not get the export dialogue box. Lightroom basically locks up until I press the escape key. Interestingly if I right click on an image, go to export and chose a preset it works? Do I need to reinstall Lightroom and If so how do I do this.

Nov 27, 2013In an .idw environment, I have multiple models displayed.I am trying to create simple text labels for each model using text, modifying each one so that it will display the part number and the revision level by using the "Component" drop down box and assigning the proper "Type" and "Property", then using the "Add Text Parameter" button to place the fields into the text box.
This works as intended for the first model that I created a view for. However, it will not work for each successive model; the text will revert to the part number and revision level of the first model that was brought into the .idw environment, even if I change the target component in the "Component" drop-down box.
In the .jpg that I have attached, you can see that I have 035-14218 selected in the "Component" drop-down. This is the initial model that I brought into the .idw. and the resulting text is correct.

Photoshop :: PS-CS (not 2) Export As PNG Has Strange Results....
Apr 17, 2006I recently built a new computer. In getting all my old favorite programs reinstalled I have found that when I am trying to export using the PNG format with alpha well the alpha is quite strange. If I view it in Irfanview it gives this weird effect like there is a background in certain areas, more directly in back of the main image.
Maybe it's Irfanview but no I just checked it out in XNView as well and the same thing.
what's causing this strange exprort bug?? Is there an specific update I need.
The image in jpg is a direct save to that format in Irfanview so you can see what I'm talking about.
InDesign :: Export To EPS Results In Broken Type?
Mar 5, 2014I typeset long documents which often include several hundred labeled photos and illustrations. Much of our art is created off-site, but we label the figures in-house. In the past, this has been done in Illustrator, but I prefer to do it in InDesign.
Exporting an InDesign document as an .eps results in fractured type. Opening the .eps in Illustrator, a single word is now comprised of random groups of letters, and some of the characters are outlines. In the Export EPS dialog box, I've tried every combination of options under "Embed Fonts" and "Data Format." Is this a bug, or are .eps files created from InDesign not intended to be fully functional in Illustrator?
As an aside, InDesign files placed within InDesign documents often cause the program to crash when exporting to PDF. Perhaps that is a subject for another post, but it's basically the only reason I export InDesign files as .eps (so I can re-link the offending .indd file to the .eps and export to PDF). I don't really want to open InDesign-created .eps files in Illustrator -- I'd rather simply place the .indd as a link -- but sometimes it's expedient, and I'm curious as to why the type becomes fragmented.

AutoCAD LT :: Export Layout Command Not Giving Desired Results?
Feb 8, 2012I need to have users plot to DWF from paper space so they cancustomize all the layers colors etc, on that specific paper space tab. I then am mixing this with FDO data generated out of Model space. Unfortunately, when using the EXPORTLAYOUT command, the data is coped into Model space but seems to retain it's paper space coordinates. I had hoped this function would behave like CHSPACE and copy everything from paper to model space in the same scale.

Resolution to Submit 8.627" x 11.127", 2588 x 3338 px, 300dpi
My page is letter size.The image is a bitmap composed of numerous photographs and vector graphics.
I have saved them to a CMYK BITMAP 300DPI.In Corel the image reads as 11.125" x 8.625"
When I export to a pdf or jpg the image size changes to 11.293" x 8.796" which will not work for the printer. It sets the design elements outside the 'safe zone'.

Nov 13, 2011when you export any size graphic as a jpg (selected only or not) the dialogue box comes up empty, completely! when i go to close it, it crashes corel. If I tick the donot show filter dialogue box It makes a jpg image but i have no control over the settings. It works when I export to bmp! this is getting frustrating as I often have to jpeg some graphics for customers.

Mar 2, 2013We get the dialogue box on our laptop, but not on our tower. This is with LR4.3, using the Photo>Edit In path to open a RAW file in CS5. We have installed the Adobe Camera Raw 6.5. Both computers are running the same versions of each software, but I don't get the dialogue box on the tower which ask to Edit a Copy which preserves the changes made in LR4.

Jun 6, 2012When I select edit in CS5 my file goes straight to CS5 and my edit in the dialog box will not display. I have no way to oprn with a copy or etc with out the edit dialalog box. Iam using LR 4 latest version I must have changed some thing no realizing . Everthing was fine until a while ago.
All the NEF files that were recently imported are the ones that the dialog box will not show the TIF files the dialog box will show.When these files were ompoterted all the history does not show in the module just the import. Did I import wrong causing all the history not to show?
Lightroom :: Images Are Not In Order In The Import Dialogue Box?
Mar 1, 2013using lightroom 4.3... when I import photos, they appear in random order in the IMPORT viewing window. With pervious versions of lightroom, they were always in order of file name. It becomes more time consuming to select specific files to import to a file if there are 2 or more jobs on one CF card ( I have photos of my kids skiing mixed up with a portrait session.). Is there a way to sort the photos (by file name, or time) before import? I do know how to sort post import.

Apr 7, 2012I have a problem with LR4 and smart collections which are not showing real results. As an example see the following picture:
The collection is showing 13 results, but on the right LR4 reports that there are no photos in selected smart collection. Similar results I have for several other smart collections, which are either showing some files which are not related to the collection, or they are not showing at all the expected result (which can be found via filter). I was thinking about a possible issue - the results are maybe calculated and require some long time to process, but if I will leave this over the night, then there is no difference (the smart collection above has 2 rules, the amount of photos in catalog are 19k).
Lightroom :: After OS X Update Moving 1:1 - Images Results In Low Resolution?
Sep 21, 2013After the OS X 10.8.5 update on my current generation 27' iMac moving 1:1 images results in very low resolution for those areas I am moving to with as long as a two second delay before the image snaps back into full resolution. Not only that but when it snaps back into full resolution you see a shift in alignment and a snapping into place with the nearby area that was already in full resolution. This is awful and is occuring with Lightroom 5 and 5.2.
My iMacs specs are the current generation 27" iMac, i7 3.4 Ghz, 32GB RAM, and the NVIDIA GeForce GTX 680MX 2GB running OS X 10.8.5.
I did not have this issue with OS X 10.8.3.

Lightroom :: 3.5 - Opening Print Module Results In LR Crash
Nov 6, 2011After ugrading to LR 3.5 I have not be able to print an image. Each time I move to the Print Module the systems crashes with the error message "Adobe Light Room has stopped working". My viedeo card is an ATI Radeon HD 5570 and I have no problems printing from any other program including Qimage. Windows 7 64bit updater shows all updated to the OS have been made. All the other functions in LR are working normally. Only the print functions seems to be failing.

Feb 12, 2012I have LR 3.6 and have created a catalog of pictures from a ski trip I took last year. All of these pictures and the LR catalog are in one folder on my hard drive. After sorting, deleting and retouching quite a few pictures I now notice that one picture is missing from the library. If I open the folder in Explorer (Win 7) I can see the picture, and Windows Picture & Fax Viewer will open/display this picture so it appears the file itself is fine.
However, I cannot get this picture into the library for some reason. When I choose File>Import Photos this one picture doesn't show up in the list of photos. It's as if Lightroom can't see this picture for some reason.
Oh, and I don't know if it matters, but there is a movie clip with the same filename but a different extension (obviously) that does show up in the library and the import dialogue. The picture filename is DSC_0001.jpg, the movie filename is DSC_0001.mov.

It is stated that "remember to turn off color management in the print dialog" when using custom profile (I assume the Profile MG...) is regarded as a custom profile...
I have been lookoing in the print dialogue and I can not find any way to turn off colour management... Is this only valid for Microsoft Windows of Is there something I do not understand ?
Lightroom :: 4 Constantly Crashing When Display Import Results Window
Apr 8, 2012I'm trying to synchronize my folders, and LR4 is consistently crashing when it attempts to display the "Import Results" window. This is on Win7 Pro, using LR4 64-bit. A portion of the pix being imported are successfully stored in the catalog, and the remainder are not. When I restart LR and attempt to synchronize again, the process repeats: find the new pictures (the ones that weren't stored in the previous attempt), start importing them, reach apparent 100%, start to display "Import Results" window and immediately crash.
I'd like to reach the point at which no pix remain to be imported.

May 17, 2012I'm trying to export meta-data for a 5 years old MRW file in LR 4 Win x64 residing there since LR 2, but it results in "Could not write metadata. Unknown file I/O error. (1)" error. I have checked the file permissions and it seem to be fine. What else shoudl I check for?

My LR 5 is as slow as a snail generating those previews.
Importing my RAWs form the EOS 6D (saved on a 95MB/s 32 BG SanDisk Extreme Pro) it renders only the 12 or 24 displayed previews and leaves out the rest (the next only when I'm scrolling down). For 12 images LR5 needs 8-10 seconds. LR4.4 does the same process for all 150 RAWs in 1-2 seconds.
It doesn't matter if I want to import to my workstation (Dell Precision T1650, 8core Intel Xeon E3-1240 V2, 16GB RAM, 64bit) via USB 3.0 (Reader & Port) or to my laptop (Dell Latitude E6400). So it must be LR, not my hardware.
Are there known issues with the Canon-RAW format? I just updated EOS firmware to 1.1.3, but the renderspeed stays the same. For 1 image 3-4 seconds single...

Jun 30, 2013I was working in LR 4 on Mac OS 10.8.4 when I suddenly saw the preview of an older jpg-file when moving the cursor over the image folders: The half of it was blurred. I moved into the folder to find the image and clicked another jpg file. Half of it turned blurred and somehow inverted as well, see here: [URL] .....
I starred at it and in the library view more and more image turned this way. There was an icon next to the images, when I clicked it there was something like (translated): "metadata for this photo was changed by LR or another application. Should LR import the settings from the disk or overwrite the disk’s settings with those of the catalogue?"
There was no new version of the file or something like this. All affected files are jpg files, some from an old smartphone and most from an EOS 5D MII.
Lightroom :: How To Export A Window Without Export Buttons At Bottom
Mar 1, 2014Win 8.1 64 bit A Toshiba Satellite laptop, LR 5.3. When I try to export I get a window without export buttons at the bottom to do the export. Further if I try to resize the export window the export window disappears and LR freezes requiring to ctrl/alt/del to close it. I cannot export anything to HD or email, etc.
I was in a class last night where everyone had Macs and the buttons appeared on their versions and worked fine. Totally repeatable. I can supply screen shots.
Makes LR totally useless.
