I want to add plain white 300 pixel borders to some photos without losing any of the image, so I'm using canvas resize in Elements one at a time, then back to Lightroom for the next, etc. Is there any way I can expedite this, by making some kind of preset or something?

I have approximately 70 jpg images I'd like to add borders to. All of the images will have the same color and thickness.
Is it possible to create some sort of batch process that automatically adds borders to all 70 images? Right now, I've been adding borders one-by-one to the images. It got tedious after the first dozen.
If there is a way to automate the procedure? If so, what must I do? If it's possible, will all 70 images be re-saved automatically, as well?
Im trying to print 4x6. In the print module there are 4 margins. Each defaults to 0.13 in. This creates a white border. It does not let me slide these to zero.
I have it cropped correctly (4x6 aspect) and have zoom to fill checked.
I print using Lr 3.6 and seem to never get on paper what Lr shows on screen. A case in point is that if I print with no (zero) borders specified in the Layout section of the Print module I get a print which is identical to the one I obtain when I set the left and right borders to non-zero values (e.g. 2mm). This is even though Lr's screen does show no borders in the first case and the expected borders in the second case.
View 1 Replies View Relatedi have already exported a LR3 slide with borders. however, there is a Lightroom identity plate in the upper left corner. have been able to remove the identity plate but all subsequent exports have been without borders. don't remember how i initially did it. now i can't create borders even with the identity plate. i did read that borders can be created in the print module but that does not explain how i was able to do it in the slide module.

If I select say, a 2px border, three sides of my image will have a 2px border while one side will have what appears to be a 4px border. Is this a known LR problem, or is it printer driver related ? View 9 Replies View RelatedI use large sheets of paper in my printer and typically want to print several photos on one sheet. In order to use the entire 19" length of the paper I select "borderless" printing in the printer options of my Epson Stylus Photo R3000 printer. For example, I create a template with five 5x7 photos and two 4x6 photos on one 13x19 sheet of paper. I then want each cell to have a border of 7 pts. I set this in the appropriate print option in Lightroom. I select each photo and drop it onto the appropriate cell. When I print this selection, Lightroom fails to preserve the 7pt borders of the various cells that lie on the outside edges of the paper. It preserves the 7 pt borders everywhere else. This occurs for any possible expansion setting I choose under the 'borderless' selection.
Conversely, if I do not select 'borderless' printing I get double width borders around the outside edges of the paper, single width borders on the interior edges, and therefor I cannot fit the last two 4x6 prints on the paper.
Is this a bug or is there a combination of settings which will give me what I want.
Is there a way to export images with borders (like the slideshow layout) and metadata caption (iptc/exif). I'm using a plug-in Mogrify now, but this way I have to export every photo twice (first to create borders, then to add the metadata). photo below is exported with the Mogrify plug-in.
It would be awsome to export photos like the gallery layout since most lightboxes have only 1 line of caption and no design/edit options. This would save heaps of time.
I am trying to add/create new folders so as to import images into them. I go to Library, Folders, click the triangle, click add folder, and then I name it, click create, and it is nowhere to be found. I have made sure path is to Lightroom, but if I am already in Lightroom, why would it not naturally just be created?

View 12 Replies View RelatedI have lightroom 5.3 I want to use DxO 9 from within Lightroom as an external editor, to both convert raw to tiff and make use of the lens corrections. I want to have both Raw files and tifs created by DxO 9 in my catalog. I can do it externally then import both folders after I do the work in DxO or possibly do it within Lightroom using DxO 9 as an external editor. The instructions in the Lightroom help section tell me I can add the program as an available external editor by going to "photo" dropdown and select edit in and then pick the "provided link" which lets me insert a link to DxO 9 but such an option does not appear in lightroom 5.3 as best as I can find. Is it possible to do this or do I just avoid lightroom until I use DxO to create my altered tif files and then import both folders (tiff and NEF raw) into Lightroom. I am in windows 8 pc

View 6 Replies View Relatedtill LR 4.1 it was easy to add photos to an existing collection. I just selected photos and dragged+dropped them on the name of the collection. Job done. This seems not to work in LR 4.2 any longer. I can only add photos to a collection by using the context menu of the collection ("Add marked photos to this collection" [most probably the correct English term is different as I work with the German edition of LR 4.2]). Is this supposed to be a feature - or just a bug?
Additionally I can't put photos in an individual order any more. Sorting them by date, name etc - easy! But rearranging the manually doesn't work any longer with my version. Again: feature or bug?
For some reason, the photos that I add watermarks to aren't saving with the watermarks on them.

I know it is an older lens, but reviews show that it is a very good lens, and I would like to confirm this from personal experience. Its successor was apparently discontinued but still seems to be supported in LR, just like the kit lens, but according to reviews the f2.8-4 D is a better zoom lens for the D600, providing excellent optical quality combined with fairly small dimensions and low weight. So I assume it would be an interesting lens for many Nikon users.

I'm using Lr 5.2 and adding pictures to collections.
I mistakenly chose Add to import some photos when I should have used Copy. Now if I try to re-import the photos Lightroom thinks they're already exist and won't recognise them as new photos. How do I get round this?

When I edit a Lightroom photo in CS6 and save it back to Lightroom as a PSD, I notice that the PSD is slightly more yellow than the original Lightroom image. This is verified in the PSD histogram, where the yellow portion is a little larger and uniform than the RAW version histogram.
This happens whether I export in 16 bit AdobeRGB (1998), and Photoshop is also set to edit in 16 bit AdobeRGB (1998), or both are set to ProphotoRGB. The yellow shift can be seen when comparing a photo prior to and after Photoshop adjustment (no tonal adjustment made in Photoshop) in Lightroom and also when comparing the Lightroom photo and the picture in Photoshop as soon as it is imported. My monitor was calibrated about a month ago, so that is unlikely to be the problem.

Other fields in the metal data cannot be over written or corrected. I would like to be able to do global editing to my metadata but I can't even modify one. I read some postings going back to 2007 on a forum here but I don't think anything has changed.

I'm using a very basic Ariel Black text, medium size and very clear. The watermark appears fine in the photo preview but does not show up when exported to my Lightroom library file! If I export to a TIFF image it's fine but just not in JPEG.
I'm having such a hard time adding several photos at once to an existing collection. Not sure what I'm doing wrong as I am following the instructions. First I select all the photos by clicking shift and the 1st photo, then I select the last photo. All photos I want to add are highlighted. But I can't drag all the photos at once. When I try to drag, the 1st photo is only selected. What is are the correct click, drag and drop key strokes to get it right? Dragging and dropping one photo at the time is just not feasible.
