Nov 21, 2012I'm trying to print using a Custom Package template -- however, I'm unable to drag photos from the Filmstrip to the Grid. What could I be doing wrong? Using LR 4.2 on a Mac.

Lightroom :: Locking Cells In Custom Template?
May 15, 2013I have created a custom template in LR. It holds 6 unique images. What I want to do is lock the image cells in place while I'm in production. What's happening is sometime I'll get going and when I drop in the image or move the image around in the cell, I actually MOVE the cell instead of the image within the cell. Then I have to stop, realign, etc and then I can move on.
Is there a way to LOCK cells once you have the template set so that this doesn't happen? Then unlock when I need to move or edit the custom template?

Oct 9, 2013I used Lightroom SDK to create a plugin generating custom set of Metadata (for LR5) to manage images as produced items (printed and framed photos). In order to be able to create usefull lists of items, I would need to be able to print this metadata fields on contact Sheets.This is the only functionality that prevents me from using Lightroom as a database for produced artworks, beeing able to manage exhibitions, stock locations, sales etc...Guess this means I have to make those new fields accessible in the Text Template Editor that allows user to compose an aggregated text from various type of metadata for printing or slideshows.But seems that only the original sets of metadata appears in Text Template Editor, not the one created by my plugin.Is there a way to add this functionnality to my plugin ?

However, when I try to do it, the cursor/icon I am dragging turns into a gray circle with a gray diagonal when it reaches the Media Browser pane in the Organizer and the folder/photo is not imported into the Organizer when I "drop." Do I need to change setting in Windows (Vista, SP2) or Photoshop Elements 11?

Photoshop :: Dragging Small Photos Onto 4x6
Oct 29, 2008I am trying to drag 4 small photos 2x2.5 onto a blank 4x6 but they won't stay there.
I just tried with the same photos earlier using a 72 dpi setting for the small photos and the blank 4x6 and they transferred ok.
When the first 4x6 blank with the 4 small photos on it was sent to Costco to have it printed it wouldn't work because the resolution was too low.
I have increased the resolution of all of the photos but now I can't get them to drag onto the 4x6.
I have the same resolution for the blank 4x6 as the small photos.
They are all jpg.

Nov 15, 2011I purchased Lightroom 3 and installed it via a CD on a PC running Windows 7. I've experienced two problems with the Print Module. The folder for Lightroom print templates is empty. Also, when trying to set up a custom layout, I cannot click-and-drag photos from the filmstrip to the layout. I have tried re-installing Lightoom, but the problems still persist.

It is possible to place photos etc between clips by dragging to icon.
This is is Sceneview & I take it that Quick in Elements 7 is similar.
There are no such icons in Elements 11 and all atempts to get photos places these at end and then these have to be moved.
GIMP :: Prevent From Dragging Curve Instead Of Dragging Anchor?
Jul 12, 2012I'm refining some SVG files, imported into GIMP as paths. I added numerous guides on the images and drag anchors to the guides. All the paths consist of straight lines only. The problem is that on some anchors GIMP performs the "drag curve" operation instead of the "drag anchor". As a result, my straight lines become broken (curved).
The only solution I've found so far is to apply maximum zoom level, say 400%, and repeat the dragging in this resolution. This makes GIMP work properly, at least, I'm able to "drag anchor" as expected. But switching back and forth to the 400% zoom level is a bit annoying and inconvenient.
Is there a better way to "say" GIMP that "dragging anchor" is the "dragging anchor", not "dragging curve"?
Photoshop :: Custom Image Template
Nov 17, 2006I'm designing logos that specificity fit onto a product that is irregular in shape. the final image will be printed on to a decal and placed onto the item.
What I'm looking for is a way to create a template for the product. So that when I bring a image into PS I can see the boundaries of the product so i can shrink the image or erase areas of the product that I don't want printed to.
My product is somewhat shaped like an egg shape.
What I've tried so far is to place a piece of fabric over the product and taped it. Then I've cut around the maximum area that can be printed to. Now I'm thinking of scanning the fabric into PS and using it as a layer. I think this will work but I would prefer if it was just a thin line of the outline.

Nov 9, 2010I am struggling to make a custom movie template for sharing to a video file. I use the menu Setting, Make Movie Template Manager.What I want to make is:
- Compression: H.264
- Resolution: 800 x 480
- Audio: AAC Stereo
- Video bitrate: 1500
- Container: MPEG-4
But it seems I cannot use this X3 software for that. Especially the resolution, why the "custom" resolution is greyed out (disabled)?The reason for the above movie template is for playing on Android mobile phone.

Jul 2, 2012What I am trying to do is create a custom sheetset template that will have ALL my sheets embedded, that way all my notes, details and sheets will always be ready. I would just need to update some text and details from time to time.
These are the steps that I have taken
Created a new sheetset and called it Sheetset Template
In this sheetset template, I created all my sheets and inserted notes/details.
At this point I thought all I would need to do is copy the sheetset file and all by sheets would get copied too, but that was not the case, just the sheetset file was copied and I have to create all the sheets again.

Sep 7, 2012I'm trying to update a template which has custom drawing properties. In AutoCad LT 2012 (and obviously full autocad) there is an UPDATEFIELD command which updates the drawing properties.
This command is not known in my version of AutoCad LT 2008. Is there another command I can use?

Aug 25, 2012Any way to use iLogic to create custom iProperties from the cells in an Excel spreadsheet (both text and numbers) for a .dwg template. The only thing even close has been a user who already knew how to do it and was having a different problem. I am using Inventor 2012 and Excel 2003 and have very little experience with VB. I currently have a family of assemblies, consisting of two parts linked to an Excel spreadsheet to control the various parameters for each variation of the assembly.
I need creating an iLogic rule that will:
Go to a specific tab (I have four different tabs/worksheets) in an Excel spreadsheet.
Make a specfic row of that worksheet the current row based on the part number used to generate the models of the assembly shown in a .dwg.
Use the contents of a cell in that row (text or numeric or a combination of both) to generate a custom iProperty for the .dwg template.
Use the custom iProperties to fill in the title block of the template.
Lightroom :: Dragging A Stack To A Collection?
Feb 15, 2013I use Aperture but am taking a look at Lightroom. In Aperture, if I have a stack of photos in a project and drag it to an album (similar to a Lightroom collection), the entire stack goes into the album. But in Lightroom, if I drag a stack to a collection, only the top photo goes into the collection. If I expand the stack, select all the photos, and drag them to the collection, then of course they are all in the collection but they become unstacked.
Is there a way to drag a stack to a collection in Lightroom, have the entire stack go into the collection, and have the photos remain stacked? I have tried modifier keys such as Option and Command while dragging the stack but that seems to ahve no effect.

Mar 15, 2013This isn't new or original, so I know there's got to be a better way to streamline it. Me and my team are going to be at an event, and we're going to take lots of photos. We want a way to very quickly apply a template around these photos. In this case, we're making it look as if the photos are the front page of a newspaper.
I'm speaking to one of my company's designers, and he seems to think we would have to do this manually in Photoshop 1 by 1, but I know there has to be a better way. There are tons of iPhone (etc) apps to apply templates/skins to photos.
What's the easiest solution to my problem?

Apr 18, 2012Is there a way that we can set the view label in the style library to show custom/user Properties?
We have set our iam/ipt templates to have some custom properties which we wish to display in the view label when the view is created however there this no way to add these properties to the label.
I find this a little strange as you can add these user Properties to the parts list in the style library? (I've added some screen caps to show what I am talking about)

Jun 18, 2012I need to use a template photo and onto that one add two more photos, by adding two more layers.
Then I need to delete the original (background) one, which would be the template.
However when I delete it, the entire picture gets deleted, i.e. also the photos I pasted on top of it.
How can I avoid that?
Additional information:
Very strangely when adding a new layer, though in the layer screen it shows that I am adding them,
when I paste the first photo onto the background, it then becomes the background image, rather than layer number 2.

May 28, 2013I copied photo folders from my hard drive to lightroom 4 and edited them but then accidentally removed these folders from lightroom. I then imported these folders again into lightroom but all the edits I made orginally in lightroom don't show up for the individual photo's.
I backed up the Lightroom catalogue regularily. Is there any way I can reattach these edits to their respective photos'. There is lot of photo's involved.

Jul 2, 2012I have a problem where I am unsure if my upgraded template is incompatible with Revit 2013 or is there something else at play.
If I create a precast stair in default template I get "end with riser" turned on automaticaly. If I copy that stair to my template and create new stair, "end with riser" is turned off and I manually have to adjust stair afterwards.
Problem is "end with riser" is now an instance parameter of stairs and I can't find where to change the default value.
Why is the stair type that works in default template stuffed when copied to my template?
