View 3 RepliesIs there a way that we can set the view label in the style library to show custom/user Properties?
We have set our iam/ipt templates to have some custom properties which we wish to display in the view label when the view is created however there this no way to add these properties to the label.
I find this a little strange as you can add these user Properties to the parts list in the style library? (I've added some screen caps to show what I am talking about)
I'm trying to include the Autodesk 360 SP1 in my 2014 deployment. Its working fine but it prompts for a restart and I'd rather not require user action to complete the install. (the users here restart frequently enough to deal with this anyway)
I have tried the following switches in the parameters section to no avail:
/s /qn
/s /v/qn
/s qn "REBOOT = ReallySupress"
/s /v/qn "REBOOT = ReallySupress"
Converting a default part template to a custom template?
View 1 Replies View RelatedI have a lot of custom libraries for purchased items for my projects. When I bring them into my assemblies I cannot turn on or off surface planes or make any changes.
I get the message that the file is not checked out to me. How can I make it so they are always checked out to me. The libraries are mine on my system.
I want to create a library with several parts that vary only in length, I have been using Iparts with a custom length parameter, but all of the custom files are saved with my project files on my hard drive. I want the files to save to a network drive, but do not want to move my project files. Is there a way to accomplish this in inventor 2011?
View 4 Replies View RelatedI'm creating a deployment for AutoCAD 2014.
At the end of the deploy process I'd like to end up with a custom AutoCAD shortcut on the desktop that calls an ARG file. This is no problem.
The problem is that to get that shortcut I need to check the "create desktop shortcut" check box and then I wind up with 2 shortcuts on the desktop, the default "AutoCAD 2014 - English" and my custom shortcut.
I created a drawing template, saved on companies common drive, not local. When I created it I also created BOM to be filtered for certain iproperties. When I go "new" and open a new drawing file from the template I get the message about the style conflict and when open BOM in a new drawing I get default columns not the columns I set up in iproperties.
What is the process of setting up/changing styles?
I want to change some values in the default drawing template.
But doesnt succed to save it to an existing template
Like this picture shows about the precision
I have tried to use "Save Copy As Template" but the values goes back to the default settings
how to save dimension style settings to an template?
I'm trying to create a life-like model to show a customer, and one of the critical aspects is the color. I'll use Publisher to get the photo finish, but I still have to get the color to look like the real world paint. I've contacted my paint co to see if they could give me RGB values that I could input into the custom color style editor--see attached dialog box. They said that what they have doesn't correlate at all .

Any way to use iLogic to create custom iProperties from the cells in an Excel spreadsheet (both text and numbers) for a .dwg template. The only thing even close has been a user who already knew how to do it and was having a different problem. I am using Inventor 2012 and Excel 2003 and have very little experience with VB. I currently have a family of assemblies, consisting of two parts linked to an Excel spreadsheet to control the various parameters for each variation of the assembly.
I need creating an iLogic rule that will:
Go to a specific tab (I have four different tabs/worksheets) in an Excel spreadsheet.
Make a specfic row of that worksheet the current row based on the part number used to generate the models of the assembly shown in a .dwg.
Use the contents of a cell in that row (text or numeric or a combination of both) to generate a custom iProperty for the .dwg template.
Use the custom iProperties to fill in the title block of the template.
I am looking for assitance with the VB code to change the text style within a custom table when it is created from a VB standalone program. I am using Inventor 2013 and VB 2010 Express.
I have a customtable that is created within a .idw, and I would like to have the data cells set to "Table_Cells" style that I have created. I cannot find anything in the help file with a sample code to build off.
I figure it's got to be something with oCustomTable.DataTextStyle but beyond that I am lost. This is what I have, and VB is kicking it back in my face.
Dim oTextStyle As TextStyleoTextStyle = oCustomTable.DataTextStyle.StyleType("Table_Cells")
Error 2 'Public ReadOnly Property StyleType As Inventor.StyleTypeEnum' has no parameters and its return type cannot be indexed.
I created a template and changed some style properties. I can not save to master location and when I open the template is tells me it is going to override my custom style.
How do I save out my custom style to the defalut location?
Is there any convenient way to edit symbol, swatch or graphic style libraries? The way I do now is quite time-consuming: I open a library I need to edit, create a new symbol, select other symbols of the opened library (so that they appeared withing the generic "Symbols" tab alongside with the new symbol), then press "Save Symbol Lybrary", select the library I've already opened and replace it with the new one (with a new symbol added).
I would prefer just to open a user defined library, drag and drop a new symbol to it and save changes to the library. Is the latter method out there and I just don't know about it? If so, any trick to activate that method.

I have tried to create deployments on the network for my products but I keep getting a "copy function fails" error once I start it.
When you first start to make a deployment it asks for a Administrative image path which I have been point at a network location (\serverpath, etc).
I did make sure that the path length was less than 73 characters (due to a previous error).
It was suggested that I make the deployment on the local machine and then move it to the network location?
However, it does not appear that you allowed to pick a local directory for this (see attached).
if i want to make a custom hatch which include with letters and some different types of lines. what is the process to make that type of custom hatches.

View 5 Replies View RelatedIs it possible to build a deployment package that prompts for the serial and product key when it's being installed? We have about 90 or so Engineers, our company refuses to pay for a network license and wants the pacakge deployed out through SCCM. But because of the way our company is set up we've got about 70 keys (some are multi activation. I could just build a package for the Standard and Premium suits and just prompt for the serial during installation.
View 1 Replies View RelatedWe have a problem whereby our Templates revert back to a Default state. This is totally random.
One operator can create a drawing with the correct template loading up, and seconds later another operator will report that an old 'Inventor' default template has loaded up. On investigation it appears all templates marked as "standard" revert back to older versions.
I have made the Templates read only, but the problem still persists.

I have created Template drawing files of D Size, C Size, B Size with defined title blocks and dwg sheet information on it. These template files i want to used in 2011 Solid Works . I don't want to again create the Title Blocks , Border layout and Sheet information for Solid Works. How can i import or make use of ready templates created in Inventor to Solid Works. ?
View 1 Replies View RelatedWe just installed the new version of 2012 Product Design Suite. I've spend many hours creating great little ilogic dialog boxes to populate iproperty fields using custom iproperties and then automatically place this data on the .idw file when the view is placed on the new drawing. All works great when the part is created with my new 2012 part template and then placed on my new 2012 idw template. The trouble is with parts that were created with 2011 Inventor. Obviously, the old template does not have the ilogic data built into it. Is there a way to upgrade/migrate the part template file from 2011 to 2012 on an existing part?
I think I'm asking for a miracle here, but I have an assembly with 40-50 parts that I created in 2011 and now need to build the idw files for them and would really like to be able have the customized iproperties added to the existing part files.
I have a bunch of material data in .xls form. Is there some way I can convert that to a .styxml file so I can import it into Inventor?

I would like to have my parcels be able to label the lots with sometihng other than the Lot # given by the setup of the parcel itself. What i'd like to be able to do is have it label Outlot A - which I haven't been able to figure out to date.
How can I get the parcel style to use something other than the word Lot or a number (given the typical lot is a number). We have various reasons why Outlot A is a needed label. How does one go about getting C3D to use something other than the name template in parcel style. I can toggle the name template option off once I create the parcel. But, when I toggle it off - then go to the name and change it to Outlot A - the parcel label still shows as Lot 1. Why?

Trying to autoload and update the current & or new drawing to the most recent form or the LKS
This is what my lisp file has
(AecImportLayerKeyingStyle "D:drawingsLibraryAusContent13Aus-Layer&LayerKeyStyles.dwg" "Multi-Level")
(AecSetCurrentLayerKeying "Multi-Level")
On loading drawing, ACA returns
AutoCAD Architecture menu utilities loaded.ERROR: Unable to import the style 'Multi-Level' from 'D:drawingsLibraryAusContent13Aus-Layer&LayerKeyStyles.dwg'
The LKS already exists in the drawing. Renaming it and pasting the first line to the command line results in a nil return and the LKS is not imported.
Format seems correct. Path is correct. It can't not import because it's already in the drawing. Renaming existing does nothing.
I have been using autocad R14 with a 2d architecture addon for the last 15yrs.I purchased Architecture2009 and never used it because of the learning curve from R14.
Computer Crashed and forced me to update...I am adapting very slowly and need to get up to speed soon. i have a residential design business and my clients are getting a little upset with my lack of production.
I spend a bit of time yesterday changing door styles and want them available to all drawings not just the one they were created in. How do i migrate my style to the template and other drawings?

View 1 Replies View RelatedI am working on a Global Company Civil 3D template. We had about 10 people initially working on creating it and now I am cleaning it up.
Unfortunately we have a Text Style being used somewhere within our template that we want to get rid of.
Are there any tools or methods to be able to find this Text Style?
I have personally gone through all the dialogue boxes trying to find it an cannot.
What I am trying to do is create a custom sheetset template that will have ALL my sheets embedded, that way all my notes, details and sheets will always be ready. I would just need to update some text and details from time to time.
These are the steps that I have taken
Created a new sheetset and called it Sheetset Template
In this sheetset template, I created all my sheets and inserted notes/details.
At this point I thought all I would need to do is copy the sheetset file and all by sheets would get copied too, but that was not the case, just the sheetset file was copied and I have to create all the sheets again.
