I'm trying to export my corrected files as DNG's with the corrections from LR 4.3 but it does not seem to apply those corrections. If I open up the exported DNG into a new LR catalog, the new catalog does not pick up those corrections!
View 12 RepliesI´m working with LR 4.3 for 3 month but since days the "correction" brush doesn´t work anymore. The overlay button is still active and the system reboot I tried more than once ;-). I miss this function and maybe one of you is able to prevent me from reinstalling.
View 2 Replies View RelatedThe new colorfringe correction method in Lightroom 4.1 RC2 works fine even for difficult longitudinal CA when used with care. After basic adjustments I normally export my raw file to CS5 for further editing.However found out that even after the Camera Raw update to 6.7 RC my Lightroom colorfringe adjustments were not transfered to CS5.
: but do we require to buy CS6 with Camera Raw 7 to open the raw image with Lightroom corrections for colorfringes maintained?
I haven't noticed this before. I know that in LR 4.4 image is scaled properly when export size is specified by megapixels instead of pixel or print size.In LR 5.3RC it does not work. The image is always exported as it's original size. Not sure how LR 5 and LR 5.2 was?
View 8 Replies View RelatedI have a large library and one day i wanted to make sure that none of the files were corupt so I thought of an idea to export my entire library to see if i get a notification if any of my files didn't export. I could then check on those files to see whats wrong. But trying to export that many images caused lightroom to crash so I exported by year instead. Some years were fine, but others like 2011 for example, out of 13906 images, only 9824 exported. I would be ok with that if lightroom notified me which images didn't export. Normaly, when i try to export images that are ofline, lightroom will tell me which ones didn't export and say that they can't be found. How am i supposed to find those 4000 images that didn't export if i don't know what there file names are? I tried exporting the previews as a catalog and all 13906 exported fine. I updated my dng previews and I even genereated new standard sized previews as well. I also ckecked for missing images under Library/Find Missing Photos, and there were none missing.
View 3 Replies View RelatedExporting images in LR 5.3 with resize setting of "short edge" does not re-size the image at all when the option for "do not enlarge" is checked. Instead it simply exports the full sized image. This happens even if you are trying to downsize an image (in my case from a 24MP image to one that is 800px wide), in other words you are not enlarging the photos so the option for "do not enlarge" should not apply.
Other sizing options like "long edge" appear to work as expected.Have tried restarting LR but no effect. Have tried changing export setting and then changing back to "short edge", again no effect.
What is going on with Lightroom 5? I upgraded from 4 and now it doesn't export with a maximum long edge of 2166 pixels even though that is what it is being told to do.

I am using Lightroom 4.1, and upgrading to 4.2 RC1 didn't resolve the issue. I've tried clearing my temporary files and re-installing Lightroom. I tried deleting my catalog and starting again. My default browser is currently Chrome, but when I make IE the default, I see the same behavior.

What if I edit in smoke and want to export an xml of my sequence for color correction in another app that imports xml.
Will Corel6 (or later) ever be able to export to a web page directly since the HTLM export doesn't work (drops links). The Corel Web program, or what ever its name is, was a joke. Its amazing that Corel work puts its name on a program that you could not open a CorelDraw file.
My current work around is to export to a JPG and then import that into dreamweaver and add the links there, then post. A pain but it works.
I don't have either the lens correction tab or detail tab listed to the right side in develop module. It also appears any standard presets that were there are gone.

However when I open the images in Camera Raw I have automatic access to this profile. I also have access to a custom Fuji profiles which I have downloaded and installed with Adobe Profile Downloader but which don't appear in the Lightroom module. Developing my images in Camera Raw before using Lightroom?

I recently purchased LR 4.2. I already have PSE 7 and have used it for several years. I have been trying to straighten verticals in photos of tall buildings, old courthouses, etc. where I had to point the camera up to capture the image I wanted (capture the highest spire and the base of the building and a little of the surrounding area). Photos taken like this end up "leaning" backwards quite a bit and, if shot from an angle especially, some of the verticals are seriously disorted (not just perspective). I usually line up on one vertical side when taking the picture; this results in the vertical on the other side being stretched outwards at the bottom compared to
PSE has a filter that allows you to correct camera distortion including vertical perspective that works pretty well. PSE also has some distortion functions that allow you to stretch, skew, or free distort an image. I use skew to take the side of the picture where the bottom is wider than the top (sloping from top to bottom, left to right sort of like a slash "/" character). I select the bottom, left corner and pull it in until the vertical looks about right.
So now that I have LR, I wanted to see how its distortion correction worked compared to PSE.
I took one of these photos like this and adjusted it in LR. The first thing I noticed is that LR does not have any skew capabilities. It can't correct for more than relatively simple vertical and horizontal distortion. That's disappointing because I don't really want to export my file as TIFF, import it into PSE, then convert it to 8 bits (my version of PSE won't do camera distortion or stretch/skew adjustment on 16-bit images), adjust it, then export it back out to my TIFF file, then import that file back into LR.
The other oddity I've noticed is that the vertical perspective correction in LR tends to stretch things vertically when large amounts of vertical perspective correction are applied. What happens then is that an old style courthouse which has a a smaller dome on the top, the smaller dome gets stretched vertically and becomes more "skinny" - taller and thinner. So the vertical distortion correction, in large amounts, just introduces more vertical distortion by vertically stretching the image. PSE, on the othe rhand, corrects the vertical distortion but does not change the proportions of the subject significantly - no vertical stretching.
1) why does LR offer perspective and horizonal corrections but not distortion controls like skew?
2) why does LR vertically stretch my subject when I use a lot of vertical distortion adjustment when PSE does not, and what (if anything) can I do about it?
I have upgraded to LR5 but cannot see Lens Correction tab in the Develop module.

View 3 Replies View RelatedSo, I've recently purchased Lightroom and love it. Only problem is adding lens profile to each photo. I worked out there is a bulk setting, but I use multiple Canon lenses, the 24-105, the 70-200 and 60mm Macro. If I apply lens correction in bulk to all images it will go by what's on the first image. Say for example the first image was taken with the 60mm it will apply that correction to all photos despite what lens they were taken with.
I went through the rest and unticked and reticked Canon and it selected the correct lens this time, but not in bulk. What is the correct way to set this to happen in bulk or is it not possible?

View 1 Replies View RelatedI would like to inform all about an (in my view) incorrect behaviour of LR:
In order to speed up my workflow i disable detail and lens corrections for all images immediately after the import (select all, auto sync is on, turn off detail and lens corrections). With this panels turned off I can do basic operations like cropping etc much, much quickier. I shoot badminton sport and have to process hundreds of images.After the basic corrections I re-enable detail and lens corrections for all images which should restore the previous settings of this panels or at least the default (ISO specific) settings (which is the same in my case). But the "Remove Chromatic Aberrations" remains off, even if it was on before and on by default for all my lenses! I consider this to be a bug.
Obviously LR seems to use some of the lens correction information it gets from Micro Four Thirds cameras. This shows when compared to results from RAW converters that don't.
I have noticed this for my Olympus OM-D and the 12-50 mm zoom. Is that the reason why there is no lens profile for that lens in Lightroom? And is this the case for all MFT lenses?
I want to check the "remove chromatic aberrations' box in the LR5 Develop mode, but the Lens Corrections Panel is missing from my Panel view.

Is there a way to enable lens correction by default? I do not like having to check the box for each new picture I import.

I assume profiles for these lenses exist somewhere. Where I can download profiles for these lenses and tell me how to get them into Lr?

View 4 Replies View RelatedMy camera is a Panasonic Lumix DMC-FZ28 and I'd like to take pictures using the RAW format. I bought it in 2008.
There's no lens profile for this camera, and I was told that when I import pictures in LR (my version is 3.6), lens corrections are automatically applied.
I've tried and it seems that for exemple CA is not corrected in LR3.6.
Is my camera too old? Do I have to buy a newer version of LR?
