Lightroom :: Authorize On Flickr Export Plugin Doesn't Open Browser
Aug 30, 2012
I'm trying to authorize Lightroom to export to my Flickr account, but when I click "Authorize" nothing appears in my browser.
I am using Lightroom 4.1, and upgrading to 4.2 RC1 didn't resolve the issue. I've tried clearing my temporary files and re-installing Lightroom. I tried deleting my catalog and starting again. My default browser is currently Chrome, but when I make IE the default, I see the same behavior.
getting Lightroom to show me the authorization dialog box so I can export to Flickr?
When I try to authorize Flickr in the publish services, nothing happens. I click authorize and then click authorize again on the permission window and then it just returns to the beginning as not authorized. No internet explorer window even opens? I was able to authorize Facebook without issue and it opened an internet explorer window just fine so I'm unclear why it doesn't happen with Flickr?
I even tried logging into my Flickr account prior to attempting to authorize in Lightroom and still nothing?
I added a new tag to a large batch of photos which then needed to be re-upoaded. It was taking a very long time and about halfway through, I got an error. I started the Publish funtion again and all was fine, but then again with a handful of photos left, I got the error. This time the Publish function didn't move anything and I just got the error. Even after removing the new tag from the remaining photos, I am unable to use the plugin to upload any new photos to my flickr account. I use the flickr library within LR as part of my organization strategy and really don't want to use any other uploader.
The error message in question: Flickr API returned an error message (function flickr.photos.setMeta, message Bad URL found)
I can't seem to find a way to export to Flickr - is this supported in LR4?
Running on OS X Lion
Plugin Manager shows the Flickr plugin as "installed and running'. The status is enabled.
When i click on "Export" in the Library section, I get the Export dialogue. At the top is the "Export to" drop down. The items in the drop down are "Email, Hard Drive, and DVD. and Adobe Revel", but there's nothing about Flickr (or Facebook).
I've just uploaded a picture to my Flickr photostream from within Lightroom 4 release version (Win 7 64 bit). I geotagged the picture in Lightroom's new Maps module and the image shows GPS co-ordinates in the Metadata panel in the Library module.
The photo on flickr has no GPS data and does not appear on the map in Flickr. I've downloaded the original version of the picture from Flickr and opened in the GeoSetter tool, which confirms that no GPS data is embedded in the JPEG file.
In Lightroom 4's "Publish Services" section Flickr does not have the "Remove Location Info" setting ticked under metadata.
EDIT: I've just tried to export a picture using the normal export button in the Library module. In this dialog box "Remove Location Info" was ticked. I unticked it and exported and can confirm that GPS data is successfully stored in this image. It just doesn't seem to get to Flickr using the built-in publishing service for some reason.
For the last months, I haven't faced any problem to upload pictures from Lightrrom 4.3 to my Flickr account, but today I receive the following error message :
I opened the drawing and then from the drawing opened the model. In the drawing it is showing the 4th instance of ROUND CRS-032175 X 33 as an assembly. It also is not showing in the view and yet the visibility is checked. AI2012 SP2
I'm attempting to set up the Facebook plug-in in LR4. I get as far as logging into Facebook, and clicking "allow" on the permissions page. Then LR4 attempts to go to: URL....
which of course, fails and LR complains that it did not receive the authorization token from Facebook.
1 - Using LR Transporter plugin It's not the solution because this plugin change caption in LR. I want to change only during export. 2 - Using rc Exportant pluginI don't manage to change something in the preset. I've got a bad level in english and I don't really understand what to do to make what I want 3 - Doing my own plugin I've tried with lightroom SDK. I manage to do a box in export box to complete some metadata. But I'm not a programmer, only a photographer, and I don't know how to do after.
I know that it's possible to do something like that. I use jf Flickr plugin and ther is a place to do that in this plugin (Metadata Management / Image Title - Description).
I'd like to do exactly the same with piwigo's publish.
It started about 3 or 4 weeks ago on my office workstation with Inventor 2013 Pro. Seems to still go okay at home with 2014. I'm using Inventor's built-in PDF export, not an external program.

I'm trying to export my corrected files as DNG's with the corrections from LR 4.3 but it does not seem to apply those corrections. If I open up the exported DNG into a new LR catalog, the new catalog does not pick up those corrections!
I haven't noticed this before. I know that in LR 4.4 image is scaled properly when export size is specified by megapixels instead of pixel or print size.In LR 5.3RC it does not work. The image is always exported as it's original size. Not sure how LR 5 and LR 5.2 was?
Just downloaded Lightroom 3.6 after I had a problem opening Lightroom 3.5 which I've been using for a few months. When I open the program I get a select catalog dialogue box. If I choose a photo to open I get a runtime error on the program. I'm running Windows Vista.
I have a large library and one day i wanted to make sure that none of the files were corupt so I thought of an idea to export my entire library to see if i get a notification if any of my files didn't export. I could then check on those files to see whats wrong. But trying to export that many images caused lightroom to crash so I exported by year instead. Some years were fine, but others like 2011 for example, out of 13906 images, only 9824 exported. I would be ok with that if lightroom notified me which images didn't export. Normaly, when i try to export images that are ofline, lightroom will tell me which ones didn't export and say that they can't be found. How am i supposed to find those 4000 images that didn't export if i don't know what there file names are? I tried exporting the previews as a catalog and all 13906 exported fine. I updated my dng previews and I even genereated new standard sized previews as well. I also ckecked for missing images under Library/Find Missing Photos, and there were none missing.
Exporting images in LR 5.3 with resize setting of "short edge" does not re-size the image at all when the option for "do not enlarge" is checked. Instead it simply exports the full sized image. This happens even if you are trying to downsize an image (in my case from a 24MP image to one that is 800px wide), in other words you are not enlarging the photos so the option for "do not enlarge" should not apply.
Other sizing options like "long edge" appear to work as expected.Have tried restarting LR but no effect. Have tried changing export setting and then changing back to "short edge", again no effect.
What is going on with Lightroom 5? I upgraded from 4 and now it doesn't export with a maximum long edge of 2166 pixels even though that is what it is being told to do.
Lightrrom 4.2 can't use the right click, "edit in" photoshop CS6. I have tried edit, preferences, and created a Preset and pointed it to the CS6 photoshop.exe... still a no-go.
I always use LR in full screen mode. But every time I open it, it always opens in the collpsed small window mode. Never the full screen way I closed it. Is this designed in, or is there a setting someplace I just have not found?
The issue we have all been experiencing with LR 4 RC2 seems to still be in the release of 4.1
When I try to publish a photo to my flickr photostream I get the following error:
Can't update this collection. And internal error has occurred: A semi colon character was expected.
I find this to be ridiculous. We let the powers that be know of this issue and still nothing seems to have been done. I guess I have to return to the RC1 release just to get my photos uploaded and retain my usability with comments?
when I try to setup and authorize Flickr it ask me to signin to my acct. I sign in then it asks me to allow Flickr to authorize and I say yes then it brings up a blank browser window and nothing happens so I can not get past the authorize section of the publish dialog box
On completion of an image upload to Flickr using the Lightroom Flickr publish plugin I see in the progress bar at the top left state that "comments are being retrieved from Flickr". I never see any other mention of "comments" in Lightroom so what does this mean? I have many comments on my images on Flickr so are they retrieved and downloaded? I have LR4 and Mac OS.
My .JPG exports look more vibrant and contrasty when viewed on Flickr and Facebook. I didn't have this issue until I calibrated my monitor. I recently purchased a new monitor (Dell Ultrasharp U2711) and went with the factory calibration for awhile. Using the factory calibration my test prints were acceptable for color but the prints came back a little too dark so I decided to calibrate the monitor with an Xrite i1. I haven't submitted test prints with the new calibration on the monitor yet but I have exported and uploaded some .JPG's to Flickr and Facebook and they look way more vibrant and modestly more contrasty than they do in Lightroom.I want others to see my images the way I intend them to.
When exporting the images I have always selected sRGB as the color space. I tried selecting the monitor profile as the color space for the .JPG's but it didn't make a difference. The exported .JPG images looked the same on Flickr and Facebook. I also tried using a color space called sRGB IEC61966-2.1 but it did not correct the boost in saturation and contrast that I am seeing now either.
I want my exported .JPG's displayed on Flickr and Facebook to look the same as they do in Lightroom. I had no problems with this when I first got the new monitor and was using the factory calibration. It's only become a problem since calibrating the monitor with the i1. I don't think I can go back to using the factory calibration but even if I could, eventually I am going to have to calibrate my monitor.
After getting a bit of a nagging from the in laws I got round to cataloguing the last few months photos to upload the pics of the kids.
When I go to upload to flickr it will publish two images then crash and the cycle repeats - having a few hundreds to upload there is no way on earth I'm going to babysit Lightroom while it does this.
I'm using jFlickr and have the most up to date version - although I was reluctant to mention this as I half suspect my issue will now be shelved using this as a get out - but frankly Adobe's offering is poor and presumes you've just started with Flickr.
The OS is Windows 8.1 64bit - LR 5.3 (same results on 5.1 and 5.2)
I got the beta 4.1 and it's giving me the following message when trying to uploading images (update collection) to flickr. LR 4.0 was working great. Is there a specifc forum for 4.1beta errors?
"An internal error has occurred: Error Domain=NSXMLParserErrorDomain Code=4 UserInfo=0x11b7b1d80 "Line 1: Document is empty"
