When I check properties the file count in Photo Elements 12 is different than that of Lightroom 5.
In one case Photo Elements shows 743 files and 51 folders and lightroom shows 734 files. I counted each a every file and found Lightroom to have the correct count and Elements the same count but properties shows a count of 743.
This is from an online tutorial and is a typical view of the Library Filter. Notice that there are photo counts to the right of each of the search criteria. For example, All (2 Cameras) - 487 photos. Canon EOS 5D - 404 photos, etc.
Now notice a screen shot from my iMac with Lightroom 5.2 on OX 10.9 Mavericks.Notice that there are no photo counts after the search criteria. WHERE DID THEY GO? Or for that matter, were they ever there in this iteration of LR?Incidentally, I am aware the count will appear in the filmstrip (see the next photo) but that is not nearly as useful.
When using the library filter on metadata no numbers are shown anymore, even not after clicking restore default presets?

View 1 Replies View RelatedWhenever I tell LR to edit a photo in PS (CS6), I get back a TIFF file that is 10X larger than the orginal RAW file, and I ultimetly delete it to save space (after first converting it to a jpeg). Why doesn't PS do LR style non-destructrive editing, i.e., why not simply return a record of the edits made in a format compatible with LR?

View 1 Replies View RelatedI have Lightroom 4.1; 64 bit; Win7. All of a sudden my keyword list is not showing the correct number of photos to which a particular keyword is attached. It doesn't show any for some when there are a number photos with that particular keyword (although it also does not show "0"). For other keywords, it dispolays a number but it is incorrect (apparently always a lower number than actually applicable. I do not seem to be using a filter that might reduce the number.

I had an assembly with iLogic for placing and replacing elements, suppressing parts and edit dimensions of parts in 1 assembly. Sometimes, 1 suppressed pattern must be un-suppressed. Before doing this, I would like to set the pattern count and distances between pattern elements in the pattern. How can I do it by using iLogic?
In LR4 the Library Filters showed the image count in each category.
No longer shows in LR5.
Is there a preference I can change or is this just an oversight/bug?
Does PSE 10 have a file or photo browser?

I did a test photo and I want to delete it, but the delete button in the file drown down is gray and cannot be used.
I looked in Organizer and it is not there, as I imported it directly from MAC Aperture.
I converted 5D Mark III Raw files to DNG with Adobe DNG Converter 7.4. When I import the DNGs into LR I noticed that the total pixel count has been significantly reduced. The original Raw images are 22 megapixels (5760 x 3840), the DNG files are 10.5 megapixels (3960 x 2460). I tried it without lossy compression, and with Lossy compression (making sure preserve pixel count was selected). Either way the image's pixel count is reduced. How do I avoid loosing half the image?

Needless to say it doesn't get saved in the new watermarked file. View 1 Replies View RelatedI have briefly used 3 versions of Photo Elements (9, 10 and11) and have experienced the same problem in all 3. Scanned images are labeled Image1.jpg, Image2-###.jpg, Image3-###.jpg and Image4-###.jpg. As you noticed, the first scanned image is ALWAYS NAMED IMAGE1.jpg.
Because this is happening on every scan, Elements is giving me the message that the first scanned image in each subsequent scan is already in the catalog (as Image1.jpg). All the remaining images in the scan are sequenced without any problem.
It appears as though Elements places all scanned photos into a temp location under AppData and then enters them into the catalog after the scan is complete. The file names in this temp folder are Image1, Image2, Image3, Image4. Image2-4 have their filenames changed, but Image1 doesn't.
The easiest way I have found to fix this is to rename Image1.jpg after each scan. I have looked around Elements and have no user available procedures to fix this.I am using an Epson Perfection V600 Photo scanner with Epson Scan software 3.83.
I am running Elements 11.

In Lightroom 4.2 the photo looks good, but when I open the exported photo It looks like its to much saturated. When I export the photo as AdobeRGB (1998), strange enough the photo looks for 95% oke.
I'm using a Eizo ColorEdge CG243W monitor in sRGB mode. To ensure that it's not my monitor that's causing the problem, I've watched both photo's (sRGB and aRGB) on a standard monitor on a different computer. The result is the same: to much color in the sRGB file, pretty good colors in the aRGB file.
I'm using Windows 7 Home Premium, 64 bit. My videocard is a MSi Radeon R7850. I'm using Lightroom 4.2 (system info says: [850741]).
I've just bought this system. Before I've used another computer, with the same monitor, were I've tried Lightroom 3.2. I didn't experienced any problems there. Then I also used the monitor in sRGB mode. When I exported to a sRGB file, the photo came out perfect.
Every time I click on a photo in Organizer I get a missing file message....how can I avoid this?
View 2 Replies View RelatedI am trying to print a photo on my Canon MX870 that has been edited (cropped and a few slight lighting changes) in Elements 9 , the colours look good on the screen but when I print it looks different, . I have the colour settings from the Edit menu set to "always optimize for printing". The file information shows the camera data as colour space sRGB.
I am using canon inks (all full) and canon matte photo paper and I selected the matte photo paper on the paper type in printer settings.
I have printed good photos before on this printer (I think using photo gallery) but was not using photoshop elements at the time. Does it make any difference if the photo is saved as a jpeg file or a pse file?
What would be the best file format to use when saving an edited photo to a disc for the customer to view. JPEG?
View 5 Replies View RelatedI understand that Lightroom catalog backup saves only the metadata refering to changes etc. that have been made to photos. My question refers to the backup of the photo files themselves. If I do a Windows Defrag for instance, the photos will probably be moves in that process to a different location on my hard drive. Can Lightroom still find thesse photo files once they are moved? Or, if I restore photo files from an external drive to my internal hard drive which will probably locate them on different locations than they were originally, how does Lightroom associate the Catalog metadata with these newly relocated files?
