LR 4.1 does not have a stable connection with the CF card. Both when plugged into the internal reader or when external reader is used.
When selecting pictures for the import, the complete screen with thumbnails goes away. A littele later, the screen comes back. The selection is still valid.
Each time the checkmark for pictures to import needs to be checked again.
At the top-left part of the screen you see that the drive-letter drops away, comes back again and the letter changes each time.
In windows explorer nothing unusual happens, drive remains mounted and can be accessed in a normal and stable manner.
Today I upgraded LR from 5.2 to 5.3 and then began editing pictures. When I tried to delete a picture a message came up to the effect that the file could not be permanently deleted from the disk since it could not be found. It offered the possibility of erasing the file permanently still. I chose that and the picture disappeared and a small box flashed by which said that the file could not be found. The number of files in the folder didn't change. How do I reconnect to the picture files which are in a stand alone hard drive - And - will the editing I did today be lost of subsequently be connected to the appropriate picture files/
I cannot establish a publishing connection to Flickr from Lightroom 4.3. I get this message: Oops! Flickr doesn't recognise the "oauth_token" this application is trying to use."
Is there a connection between the performance of LR 4 (LR 5) and the number of photos in the catalog? Will it slow down LR with a directory of more than 40,000 images (Win7, 4 Gb RAM)?
I am running windows 7 pro 64 bit. Whenever I try to download photos from my camera into lightroom using usb connection, lightroom stops working and wont respond. This is happening since Adobe removed lightroom 4 beta from my system.
Since transferring my photo files from my hard drive to an external drive(without telling lightroom) I have completely lost all connections between lightroom and the new destination (my external drive). There is no sign of anything at all in Lightroom. It shows 0 photos, my preferences seem gone, and it is as though I have just loaded up lightroom for the very first time. Do I need to start from scratch and reimport my photos or is there some way I can retreive/reconnect the photos so I have the edits I have already made?
The usual import menue has the options for importing on the right hand side. My system is now showing an import dialouge box and the import dialouge on the right is greyed out. How do I get back to the standard import screen.
This issue occured shortly after update to 4.2, but not directly after. I am using windows 8.
The issue that occurs is after importing images they are adjusted automatically to develop module cross process 1. After dealing with this annoyance for a bit of time I realized that I can not even "RESET ALL" the images to delete the adjustment. In delving into other images that have been in my database for quite some time, I have tried to "RESET ALL", which resets images to CROSS PROCESS 1. I have never set import to automatically adjust.
I just upgraded from LR3.6 to 4.0. When trying to import images the import module freezes for a few minutes and then displays the import screen. However, when selecting a source the program freezes again and eventually crashes.
I had the same issue when upgrading to 3.6 some time ago and then found that disabling some USB controllers solved the problem. This works for LR4 as well. As I don't need all USB connections this is a workable solution, however, disabling controllers should not be necessary to run a program.
System is an Acer Aspire 7811 64 bits w/ Intel i7, Win 7 Home Premium, 8 GB internal mem and no external drives.
I'm using LR4 with a Canon camera setup (Wind 7 Ultimate). I've got the auto import setting all configured with an incoming folder and destination. The app recognizes when an image is put in incoming folder and in fact it moves it to the destination folder. What is really annoying is that it leaves me at the import settings dialog and then I have to make all these choices as I would if I were manually importing.
Shouldn't the images be places in the desination folder and some view of that image be displayed in LR? It could be the folder view or ideally I want to see the last image imported at 1:1 size so I can review it and see if I want to take another shot? Maybe there is some flag I've got set incorrectly.
I use Auto Import to import my RAW files. Each time LR imports my files the Previous Import count number increases. Is there a way to reset this count so it shows a true reflection of the photos from my previous import session?
Correct me if I'm wrong but if you manually import files the Previous Import count number resets itself automatically. I've Googled this problem & this question has been asked before - all users were utilising Auto Import.
I'm trying to import photos into LR3.3, and the thumbnails are grayed out, as is the import button. The photos come from two other cameras -- one Canon Elf, the other I'm not sure. I received them through dropbox, and they open fine with Bridge and Photoshop CS4.
I just bought a new computer and want to upload my photo's from my camera (D 7100) in CS6, but nothing happens at all! Yesterday on my ols MAC it just worked fine.
I connected a few .shp files in Map3D for references and now I want to removed these connections. All can be deleted expect one. Under the Verify Delete Connection table, I selected the Dependent Resources and click OK and nothing happen. It is still there. How can I get rid of it?
regarding Photoshop CS3. Whenever I import a photo into Photoshop it locks up for about 20 seconds then the picture shows up. I opened up the task manager and it shows that during the 20 second lockup period my PC is sending data through the Internet. Once I disconnect from my network and try to import a photo it loads instantly. So my question is why is Photoshop transferring data whenever I import a photo? Is there anyway to disable whatever it is doing so it does not lock up?
Suddenly, I'm no longer able to add shp files to my map. I can connect and select the schema that I want to add, but when I click on the add to map or add to map with query, the the check box next to the schema clears itself and nothing happens.
We have this public server in Indiana that I am trying to figure out if Map 3D will connect to. The directions on how to connect are here: [URL] ........
If Map 3D 2012 is able to connect to this data? I cannot get it to work, but I am not a Map / GIS expert by any means.
I have had my second activation of Photoshop CS 5 on a backup computer that has no internet connection. I needed to change the operating system (Windows 7 Home to Windows 7 Professional). I called up Adobe, and told the technician that I was de-activating CS 5, reformatting the hard drive, then I was going to re-activate Photoshop. He gave me a case number so that the next technician could easily understand what I was doing and what I needed.
The first time I installed Photoshop on this backup computer, I contacted Customer Service. The technician had me do several things to get to an activation screen. I gave him both the serial number and an installation code. He then used them to generate a unique activation code, which I typed in to activate Photoshop. I had Photoshop on that computer, working, for a year.
I called on August 30, after the re-formatting and installing the new operating system, I called Customer Service to get re-activating Photoshop.
The first technician said I could not reactivate Photoshop. The second technician said it could be done, but not at his level and he would escalate the case, and someone would call me.After no calls, I tried again on 09/05. I was transferred to the manager. He said it could not be done, but he would escalate the case to the "expert team," and that someone from that team would call me "tomorrow" (09/06).
Along the way, one technician said I did not need to reactivate Photoshop because when I called about deactivating Photoshop, that technician assigned a special number that would obviate the need to reactivate. How did my computer, off-line, and my software, on a proprietary disk, know that number?
If I am offline for extended periods in location that don't have internet.what happens when I want to work on the photos that I've been busy shooting during that time? Will ACR and PS suddenly stop working becasue they are cloud based and need to check in with big brother to check my subs?
I want to set another program as the default .psd editor, yet PS CS5.5 keeps openingen them. If you click change all in the Info window, nothing happens.
Same problem with .indd files. I want another program atached to .indd files than InDesign CS 5.5
how do I remove the connection between .PSD/.INDD and starting the corresponding CS5.5 apps?
I have photoshop CS3 on an old computer. The computer’s keys have frozen and I cannot access any form of internet. I have tried to disable it so I can reactivate it on my current computer but internet access is required to fully deactivate. Can I write to Adobe with my serial number or some other way to deactivate as this computer is so near death and PS3 is the only thing of value left on the computer.
I'm trying to get connection to WMS; however after the connection is made, I don't get any layers in my list.
I've been trying many times, and the same result.
The situation is that the original Imagery were in LL84 and the provider transferred them to local CRS; since then I don't get any layers to view! Though I was able to see them before the transformation has made.
I'm trying to connect to a mysql database and I get this warning : "There was a problem accessing the connection's schema information. Item AREA is already in this named collection."
I've run into a problem with my "Jet.oledb.4" connection string not working for x64 machines. I've done some research and found out a few things, but am still confounded.
The code was written on a x86 XP machine with vb.net 2010 express. AutoCAD will load the dll just fine on x64 machines. Everything will work except the connection to the database. I tried installing the Microsoft Access Database Engine 2010 Redistributable for x64, but couldn't because the MS Office installed is x86!! Instead I installed the x86 version, but got the same unhandled exception at runtime.
Do I need to have the current x86 MS Office uninstalled and then install the x64 version of MS Office on those machines? Is it that the code is compiled as x86? If so, how can I compile to x64? I didn't see any options in settings, and haven't been able to find any examples.
The thing I really don't understand is that the same connection string ( "Jet.oledb.4") works in an old VBA routine on all machines!!
I recently purchased a new computer (PC) with a Windows XP OS. I needed to reload Photoshop 6.0, which I was using on my previous computer (Windows 98SE). Everything seemed OK, except that I could no longer import images from my scanner through Photoshop. If I select "import" in the file menu, instead of showing my Canon scanner as the TWAIN destination, it merely shows "annotations."
Now...After encountering this problem, I downloaded and installed the update for Photoshop 6.0 and installed it. I also downloaded from the Adobe site a Plug-In update. This, I thought, would probably fix the problem. And it did...sort of. I installed the updates as instructed, opened Photoshop, and still my scanner was not showing up.
Then at some point I inadvertently clicked on one of the plug-in downloads mentioned above...a plug-in.dll file. When I did that, Photoshop immediately opened and the scanner was there! So, I created a shortcut to the file on my desktop. If I click on it, the program will open up and I can scan through Photoshop. If I open Photoshop using the regular icon on the desktop, though the program will seem to work normally in every other respect, I does not recognize my scanner.
We are experiencing an infuriating and time wasting problem with SDE connected data.Users are properly set up (all 64 bit .dlls installed into the proper folders) and are using Autocad Map 2012 or Civil 3d 2012 (64 bit).
This problem does not happen every time but all too often. It is erratic and unpredictable in how it occurs between users.
When a given user makes a .dwg with connected data mixed with Autocad entities (or not for that matter) they can connect and work on a drawing normally. Once the .dwg is saved, another user will attempt to open the file. A couple of things will occur. One a 'fatal error' may happen and Autocad will have to be restarted. The other, and more common, is that the Autocad entities will begin to show and then when it appears to try to make a connection to the SDE Autocad will hang (the 'spinning circle of death' appears. Again this does not happen every time but very often.
The workaround to to recover the .dwg file, which deletes all connections and connected data, and then re-build the connected data. however, once that .dwg is shared again the entire problem may well happen again.
I have a Sql Server 2008 R2 database with gis features. I can connect to it and add the features to a map when using Map 2012, but not with Map 2013, even with the Sql Server hotfix installed. In 2013 I can log in to sql server and see a grayed out list of the feature classes, but I can't add them to my maps, and I get a message about no spatial data found, (or something to that effect).
