Lightroom :: Adding (new) Images To Ongoing Book Project In 4?
Apr 9, 2012I´m currently working on a book project in Lightroom 4. I´m trying to add pictures (new pictures), but that does not seem to work on an ongoing book project.

View 4 RepliesI am producing a book via lightrom. Just about completed it and hit save. The problem is that when I did this only my currently selected images in the film strip were included in the book collection (files starred 2 and above) and I cant work out how to make all f the files in my route folder (unstarred, etc) appear in the collection.
I had been building the book from a folder on my E drive, not a collection.
I started a book the other day, knowing that it was going to be an ongoing project. When I was done working on it, I created the saved book and named it. I have no problems openning up the book from the collections. My issue is now that I saved it, it only shows the images that I used for the book in the film strip.
When I select "ALL PHOTOGRAPHS" in the filmstrip window (while still in my previously saved book), it opens a new unsaved book.
How do I keep my saved book open and get the rest of the images in my library in the filmstrip?
I have made a book within Lightroom 5 and saved it. Now gone back into it days later after needing to make an error change and now decided I want to add more images to it but from a different images folder but its not allowing me. I have tried dropping and dragging from the folder in library to the folder named within books but it just shows a circle symbol and doesn't work. I have tried to add through file and import but doesn't work, it just adds new pictures to my library but not to the book of images. I have tried adding through adding new category but same.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI have designed and printed a BLURB book in LR4 beta successfully. Although the color was somewhat streaked and blotchy, it wasn't a bad effort, but it does need refinements. How I might add page numbers? Without page numbering, making a book greater than a few pages is not really acceptable.
View 2 Replies View RelatedOther than the cover template, there doesn't seem to be any page template that allows you to put type directly over a photo -- which can be a useful graphic technique. I know I could do it in Photoshop, and import it into Lightroom, but that wouldn't allow for easy chages in text type or color, etc. and would be an interruption of the book module's workflow. It would be nice to be able to add a text box to a page. Can it now be done and I just haven't found the way?

View 1 Replies View RelatedI prepared a rough draft of a book and saved it with the tab on the right hand top of the main screen. Unfortunately, I saved it with the option of only saving the used images from the original collection. Later I brought up the draft book and tried to add some additional images, but see that only the images already used in the book are available on the image strip at the bottom. I need to get other images which are in the original collection. Is there any way to do this? If not, is there a way to save the entire format of the book and then start over with the same format but with the original full collection as the source of images in the bottom strip?

View 3 Replies View RelatedI want to scan something and place it in a book without scaling the original up or down. I have not found a way to do this – Lightroom only tells me what percentage of the image is showing and it can be at any scale.
View 4 Replies View RelatedI am in the process of making a photobook using Lightroom and discovered when I reached page 240 that I couldn't add any additional pages, much to my surprise. I was surprised because I knew from Blurb's website that the limit for standard paper is 440 pages and mistakenly assumed that this limit would also apply within Lightroom. I did more research online and found many others being surprised by this limitation after spending hours and days on a photo book. I will likely work around this by exporting from Lightroom to .jpg and uploading to Blurb, but that will take extra time and effort and reduces the appeal of using Lightroom to create a Blurb book. I had also tried exporting from Lightroom to .pdf only to find that the .pdf format exported by Lightroom is not compatible with the requirements of Blurb.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI am trying to up load a 40 page 12" x 12" photo book to Blurb from the book module in Lightroom 4.2. It renders the pages and then having rendered the cover gets stuck, about 50% to 60% through the process. None of the photographs are starred or colour coded. I have uploaded successfully from this iMac in the last few weeks.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI am working on adding metadata to my images. Many are works of my own or public domain art pieces. I need to be able to add an artist's name as Lastname, First, but that would result in two metadata bits. Is there a way to add in a comma as part of the tag?
View 4 Replies View RelatedI am wanting to create a book, for home printing, to cataloge the life of my new dog. It could therefore eventually contain a large number of pages and I will need to add pages as time goes by.
But I would also want to print pages as they are designed and add them to the binder on a regular basis. Problem is that I have been completely unable to find any option for printing selected pages.
The programme only seems to be capable of printing the whole project, which means that if I have 50 pages all of them will be printed once I hit the Print button. I have searched all of the print options, page set up otions etc. but cannot find anything that allows me to print, say, pages 25-30.
I purchased Lightroom 5 and am creating a photo book through Blurb. I accidently erased 38 pages, so after I re-created them, I clicked on Create Saved Book, which put it in Collections. Now I am trying to work on the book again, and can open it, but when I go to the Library of photos, Lightroom automatically repopulates a new book with all the photos in that file and won't let me put them in the book I saved. How can I get this partially finished book so that I can use it?
View 6 Replies View RelatedI recently purchased Lightroom 4 and I am having issues adding a watermark to my JPEG images!
I'm using a very basic Ariel Black text, medium size and very clear. The watermark appears fine in the photo preview but does not show up when exported to my Lightroom library file! If I export to a TIFF image it's fine but just not in JPEG.
From the release notes: "Catalog containing images processed with PV2003 were adding a post-crop vignette when catalog upgraded to Lightroom 5"
Does that mean all my PV2003 images (10,000+) now have a post-crop vignette included in their edit history? Or some? Or some special combination? I converted my v4.4 catalog a couple of days after v5.0 was released, so I really don't want to go back to my old v4.4 catalog and re-convert..
This may sound like a simple question for heavy users, but I just got started. I have all my edits completed, splices with transitions, etc. and decided to attach a photo from the available stock to the front of the timeline. I was successful at this, but when I try to expand the timeframe of that photo - pull it to the right to make it longer, it won't budge and is stuck at the given length when I dropped it in. Even at the control panel, I can't lengthen the time. The same happens at the end. I drag in a photo with the idea of adding titles to the end but I can't drag the photo to the right to lengthen the time. Is there something I'm missing?

When creating custom materials and utilizing them within your Revit project, are the image files embedded within the RVT file and thereby increasing file size? I was needing to know before we load down the project file (.rvt) with many custom materials. Hopefully it is just a pointer to a separate material file.

View 5 Replies View RelatedI want to make colouring book pictures for my students from photographs of themselves (want to see kids get excited about something - give them a picture of themselves to colour in). Right now I am using the cartoon filter, desaturating the image and then painstakingly selecting by colour, each greyscaled set of pixels and then cutting them so that in effect, the image becomes a traced black and white image. I am wondering if there is an easier way to do this - I have tried using the threshold and levels filters - but I find that it makes the image too pop-arty, like those Che Guevara type T-shirt graphics. Ideally I want to literally make the image look like colouring book picture or a stamp. Is there an easier way to do that without having to pick and delete the greyscaled parts of the image?

I have recently installed Lightroom 5 and I can´t save a book. I choose a folder from library than in book module I select autolayout. Than I save the book and when I navigate outside and return to the saved book it doesn´t show the book filled with the fotos added befor anymore, despite in top appears the saved name.
View 1 Replies View RelatedThe album suppliers that I use all require book pages to be uploaded as JPGs. Lightroom 4 only lets me use Blurb (which I don't want to use), or export to PDF.
I realize that I can import the PDF into Photoshop and save them as JPGs, but when I do so, it saves the left side of the page spread as a file and the right side as a file. Most ROES programs from album suppliers require that pagespread be uploaded as one image that encompasses both the left and right side of the page spread.
I realize that I can go through and merge two JPGs together to create a pagespread, but doing so is time consuiming and requires that I resave each JPG an extra time, thereby losing quality. good way to get pagespread JPGs out of the lightroom book module? how to get pagespreads out of a PDF that looks at each side of the pagespread as a separate image?
