InDesign :: How To Import At Half Opacity When Placed
Feb 5, 2014
I have a logo that seems to import at half opacity when placed. I thought maybe it was the way it was being viewed, but it prints that way too. Something obvious I am missing?
I had to factory restore my computer and reinstalled CS6 and now when I use Photoshop to import videos only half the frame of the video shows up. The top half is completely missing.
I tried uninstalling PS and reinstalling it again but I'm still having this error. It's always worked before, now I'm not sure what to do.
when i import .wmv files into adobe after effects creative cloud only the bottom half of the clip appears (also i just installed quick time) here is a screen shot:
When the modify dimensions box is open, the 'roundoff' menu gives me 1/16", 1/8" etc, even when DECIMAL is selected as the unit format.
This wasn't happening earlier, not sure what's going on. [in fact in a solved problem from earlier, a colleague found a drawing that had units set to millimeters, had its insertion scale set to inches! Different computer, so not related].
I am trying to edit a JPEG. It is one layer. My mode is Normal with 100% opacity, 100% fill. The layer is not locked.
I can use several tools including move, magic wand, paint bucket, crop. However, I cannot use the eraser, paintbrush, healing tool, clone stamp (which is the one I desperately need to use) or many others.
It does it every 4-6 times which is really really often since you brush about 10 times every 3 seconds or so when digital painting especially when shading, lighting, blending, etc with brushing.
Why does it do this? I cant recall when it started doing this but I think it was either when I updated from CS4 to CS6 or maybe it just randomly kicked in. I already updated my drivers and re-installed my tablet.
I'm trying to import a table from Excel into Indesign but can't manage it. The internet is full of the tip to use File-->Place and then choose import options, sheet, cell range, formatted table. This does work, sort of, except the Excel table has no numbers and is formatted all whacky and doesn't have the right color.
I have a xml file with data that i would like to import to indesign. ANd that works great.
But i have a minor issue. I have a kind of a bullet list something like this:
my xml looks like this:
<mytext>1 some text2 some text 3 some text <mytext/>
the bullets is pictures (or perhaps numberd bullets if its possible to style them in my XML)
<mytext>[include my 1 image here] some text[include my 2 image here] some text [include my 3 image here] some text <mytext/>
I have tried to use CDATA in my xml file and included the path for my images, but the result is that "<image src..." is written as text not as a image..
In InDesign I have paragraph style for each one but I need a solution to import all this data and apply the styles automatically.
Few things:
- I don't want to import all these into a table. I want all the info in a 3 text columns format that will run accros 150 pages (more or less) - I'm using InDesign CS6
First i got a big Adobe InDesign File where I already have designed a catalog. It's made through tables.
It looks like this:
So here's my problem. The article numbers are already filled in. And I have a .csv file with 3 different colums. Art.Number, StandardPrice, DaliPrice It looks like this:
So now i want to import only the prices from this file, because the article numbers are already filled in. If i try to import the .csv file through data merge --> create merged document i am not able to choose this field which i marked blue (dataset). I don't know why... maybe i have to format my csv file different?
And also if i try to show the preview it only takes the data from the first line in my csv file. So somehow i have to merge the fields from the csv file with the article number which is already in my indesign file.
All those fields who look like this------>
are from an plugin which is calls easy catalog... but i think i won't need this plugin... i am sure it's also possible with data merge.
Help files for indexing indicate you can import a topic list. However, there are not details about this. I cannot import a .txt topic list or a list in an ID file.
When they talk about importing a list do they specifically mean one that has already been input into the Index Panel in another ID doc?
I am using version CS6, I would like to know if there is an easy way to import a MS word document into InDesign. The document is about 1000 pages and contains text, images and tables.
In the animation I am working on, I need an object to instantly go from 100% opacity to 0% opacity. The problem is, even if you use the opacity of the layer as a keyframe, the object will not instanlty vanish, even if it is only on for the timeruler for a quick amount of time.
I need a tool that will drop from 100% opacity to 0% instantly.
I am placing a Word document into InDesign CS6, and no matter what options I choose in the import options, the font styles are not imported into InDesign At the same time, InDesign CS3 imports all the styles perfectly from any Word file.
Is it possible to create an interactive animation in Edge, publish it, import it into Indesign, export it as an Interavtive PDF while maintaining the animation and interactivity?
The PS file InDesign CS6 generated to use to import into Acrobat for printer spreads has pixelated halftones. Is this a problem with InDesign CS6? Does it contain a post script driver?
to make and image half transparent, 1/4 transparent and etc.?
Like if the image is totally blue and I make it half transparent, If I put that image in a red background in a site it would appear to be purple. Any way to make a image half transparent on photoshop 6.0?
I'm new to 3ds max (and 3d modelling) so am possibly just superimposing my 2D graphics skills onto the 3D realm, but, here's a shot.
I've got a very complex scene, a room with walls, a floor any many objects inside. I want to simply select half of the visible room from a top viewport and simply cut it out (crop). The problem is some of the objects span across the whole room and they get removed completely rendering me with less than half of the room. Is there some function which simply removes the object wholly if it is completely in the selected area, otherwise just partially cut out the section that is selected if the only part of the objects area is selected?
when i open an image to work on onlyhalf of it is showing. It is as if i need to scroll down to see the whole page. I have the scroll bar visible, but it doenst move. When i try to move the image up the screen it moves out of its box, leaving a checkered background in its place.
Just realised that most of my filters have disapeared since trying to update to 14.1.2. The update has failed several times, and I now get a 'There is a problem with Generator' message every time I start Photoshop.
I upgraded to X5 specifically for m2t 1980x1080 50p rendering but when it reaches between 50%-60% it stops. No error message comes up and the program doesn't shut down, just goes back to the "Share" screen.
I am currently trying to render a 23 minute slideshow containing only JPEGS, no video. After 3 tries using slightly different rendering settings each time, I tried a 13 minute video containing 50p Full HD video and that seemed to render fine. I am using a Toshiba Satellite L500 laptop but as far as i can tell it is within the minimum requirements for X5.
The last settings I used to render mt2 were:
1980x1080 @ 50 fps PAL HDMV Quality- 70 Video Format -MPEG-2 (also have tried H.264) Video Data Rate - Variable 25000kbps
how to make a rounded rectangle selection now. But what about a rectangle with only the top-left and top-right corners rounded, and the bottom corners flat 90 degrees.?
I would like to take face pictures and split the faces in half. After that, I would like to use the left side of the face and match it to the reverse left side face together(having 2 left sides which will look like a normal face after the 2 sides will be brought together).
So:
1. picture of a human face (head)
2. slipt the face in half
3. remove the right side
4. highlight the left side and make a reverse image
5. put together the real left side and the reverse left side in one face
