I have two images/photos to which I applied a gradient feather effect. The documment printed fine, but when the PDF is viewed online in Fire Fox, the gradient feather no longer displays and only the sharp edges of the photo are visible. Is there a specific setting when saving to PDF that I need to select for best viewing online? I'm on a Mac CS 5.5.

View 1 Replies View RelatedWhen I use the gradient tool it has visible transition lines even though I am using the colour to transparency option. When I say visible I do not mean hard edged transition, but the transition is visible on the screen and when printing.
Is this inevitible or am I missing a trick to getting a barely visible transition edge?
I have Elements 10. I have installed a number of photo effects. They have all been working and visible for a long time. Now all of a sudden they are no longer visible. They are still resident in the appropriate folder on the C drive. How do I get them back?

Using the pen tool, I drew a complete path around the donut, made it into a selection with feathered edges, and successfully copied the feathered donut to a new transparent background. The problem is that, while the outer edges of the donut are feathered and nice-looking, the inner edges of the donut hole are still unfeathered and sharp. recommend an easy way to feather the inside edges of this donut hole?
be aware that this "donut hole" is actually the inside of a dog's ear, so use of the elliptical marquee is not an option.
I'm trying to make the edges sharp, when I use the Rectangle tool there is a 1px line on the edges which I think is suppose to blend the image to the background, but I don't want this 1px line, I want the edges to be sharp. How do I switch this off.
Using CS2, and I'm sure this is a default setting because I remember reading something about it in the book but now I can't find it.
I have designed a small gif motif for a webpage. I used paths which I then filled so it would be sharp. However, when I reduce it to the size I would like on the web page (about 45 pixels) , the edges look ragged. I can't seem to get rid of the bitmapped look.

How would you go about it?
The aim is to create a cylindrical opening in the sheet while maintaing the smoothing, while getting the edges themselves smoothed.
My stack is EditPoly, TurboSmooth, Bend, Box.
it seems it's impossible to paint sharp edges in mudbox (ie when painting there is no softness to the brush)... is there a good way to do this that i'm missing?

I'm looking for a filter or effect that can round the sharp edges of a bitmap image of a font, to give it that 'Xerox Machine' effect where a sharp font looses it's sharp corners and gets a rounded effect from being copied over and over.
I already tried the 'Gaussian Blur' filter, but that just creates soft edges and not the rounded corners that I'm looking for. The effect that I'm looking for is not fuzzy or blurred, but is more of a 'rounded corners' effect... it can be seen in the attached image that is below.

I believe possible in Illustrator, but cheaper and easier for me to do it in Photoshop if possible (I don't have any version of Illustrator), and I won't have to learn a new program.

I would imagine part of the problem is I have been using the polygonal lasso to help block off the areas i want to layer mask - I have tried the free hand lasso but the results are too wonky.
after updating from LR 4.4 to 5.2 i have a problem with my existing catalogues: All my existing pictures with healing brushes in it now have sharp edges instead of the edges they had in LR 4.4 by default. I used the brush often, so the main part of my work looks deformed now in LR 5.2.

I have a bunch of custom made symbols that I use often and for some reason, when using the Symbols Manager docker, they are no longer showing up in the Local Symbols>User Symbols folder in that docker as they used to.
The old hard drive had XP Pro on it but this new one has Windows 7 Pro on it. I am aware of the path changes made in Windows 7 and swear I have the custom symbols located in the correct directory.
I am using X4 version 14.0.0.567
I have them placed in the following directory:
C:UsersAdministratorAppDataRoamingCorelCorelDRAW Graphics Suite X4User Symbols
When I attempt to create a new Symbol, it saves the new symbol file in the directory above and when I go to that directory, I can see all of my custom Symbols. They just are not showing up in Draw X4 for some reason even though they are there.
Somehow I have dragged the basic screen of Editor outside the perimeter of my MacBook Pro Screen. The tool bar is no longer visible. I cannot get to any edges to resize the workspace.

Until about four days ago when I made edits to the the source TOC the articles would signal that an update was available. They no longer do this. And Yes the link to the text shows up in the links panel. The source file name has not changed and the location is the same.

So when you format text in t1 long distance, for the update windows then this is visible, then no longer visible, but there was still. only way to solve computer back to earlier restore point, then everything is fine again.
I've been running AutoCAD 2006 since it came out and have been running it on Windows 7 since it came out. I've never had any problem runnning my LT version. Today, all of a sudden I cannot type text in the multi-tex box. The cursor moves in the box but nothing is shown. I click okay but cannot select anything. It's like the cursor is moving but not laying down text. I've changed the different fonts, colors and even changed my background from Black to While and still cannot see any text.
My single line text tool continues to work just not the multi-line text box.
I also tried restarting my computer and tried opening existing files. The multi-line box problem occurs on other files to.
