I have hyphernation ON, but is not working. I see an strange sign from the original text, maybe is a non breaking word character imported from the original text in Word Office.

Is there any GREP command that will remove all forced non breaking text signs at once?
I included the user dictionary into my InDesign document. And I set the settings to break the hyphenation only after 3 letters, but InDesign is breaking the words even after 1 letter as per my user dictionary. whether InDesign will not consider my own settings for user dictionary terms?

"Hyphenation breaks may change if you edit the text in the document. The following hyphenation services are not installed on this system - Proximity (English: USA)"
I click OK and files open, but how do I fix this?
I was working in InDesign CC and hit the Command z key. Everything froze. I had to restart and now command z doesn't work.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI’m writing a large book, and so I have created a book file that includes 10 different “chapters” or .INDD files. Within this book I would like to include internal hypertext links that refer to other “chapters”.Unfortunately, these links do not work in my .PDF. I know that my Adobe Acrobat Professional application can “see” these links, because when I move my cursor over these links, the cursor changes from an arrow to a hand tool. But when I click on this link with my mouse, nothing happens. The .PDF does not take me to these links.
Likewise, I would like my Table of Contents to automatically link to the pages that are referenced in it. Again, I can see the “hand tool” when I move my cursor over these Table of Contents entries, but the .PDF does not automatically take me to these references.My first inclination is to suspect that something has gone wrong in the .PDF creation process. I create my .PDFs by opening the Book menu, and pressing “Export Book to .PDF.” When the Export window opens, I choose “Adobe PDF (Interactive)” then I press “Save.” When the Export to Interactive PDF window opens, I make sure that “Create Tagged .PDF” are selected. Under “Buttons and Media” I chose “Select All.” Then I press “Okay” to create the .PDF.Is there a step here that.I would assume that an “Interactive” PDF would allow active links that would have the ability to take me elsewhere within that .PDF. How can I enable InDesign to do this?

View 1 Replies View RelatedI am working on a large price list document of 200 pages. Basically it's a very long table which spans the whole 200 pages and is formated to show in two columns on each page.My InDesign is working fine normally, and it allowed me to create this document ok yesterday, however, after quitting out of the document yesterday, it will no longer allow me to open it. When I try to go back into the document it crashes with the Indesign CC has stopped working error. I don't think the file is corrupt as I took a backup of it straight after quitting out of it and the backup also won't allow me back in it. (I took the backup because I had the same issue when I tried to create a similar document just after CC was launched)
Ive looked at Windows Even Viewer and the error that it shows is as follows:

View 2 Replies View RelatedI have just recently downloaded InDesign CC (I use Mac OSX.9.2) and got the World Tools plugin to typeset in different languages.
However, I am having trouble using the selection and type tools. In about the first half of the file, the type tool displays the pointer/dashed box/I-beam icon and doesn't put the cursor in the text when I click on it. I can't click to select text as I should be able to, and if I try to click and drag, all I do is end up creating another text frame. But in about the second half of the file, the selection and type tools work the way they should.
When I click and hold on the type tool, the cursor changes to the crosshairs icon for creating text frames and the "W: H: " dialogue box for text frames appears.
How can I get the tools to work properly in the entire document?
So, I'm linking table of contents text block to about 20 separate articles. Until about four days ago when I made edits to the the source TOC the articles would signal that an update was available. They no longer do this. And Yes the link to the text shows up in the links panel. The source file name has not changed and the location is the same.

1) My workspace tools disappeared. I can add them back manually through the window menu though.
2) My Keyboard shortcuts don't work. Even the delete button or arrow buttons don't work. I can however still type in a text box in indesign.
3) The en_GB and en_US folders are empty in the folder <user>/AppData>Roaming>Adobe>Indesign>Version 6.0
Have I checked forums that talk about going into program files, however Indesign or the other products in the suite don't list via my program files only photoshop does.
I can't turn on hypnenation on Illustrator CS6, read all this [URL] , didn't work. I use English version, but in Russia, so all the texts are Russian. In preferences Russian is selected, but still no changes.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI am animating text so that it appears after a 3 second delay on page load. However, it does not seem to work at all. It worked for a paragraph of text, but it won't work for text that seems to be surrounded by other objects. I tried moving the animated object to the top-most layer, but that did not work.

I just created an eBook and also created a custom Table of Content page for it and linked the menu buttons to it's respective destination pages. They are all working fine on the desktop but when i check it on the mobile device they don't work correctly.
When I click on any menu on my phone it just opens the 1st Page While this same menu is working fine On Desktop.
When can I expect hyphenation and spell checking for selectable language sin Xara Designer 6 Pro? I am doing a lot of Flyers and some text based graphics with Xara and this is the one feature I am still missing. If it's getting to complicated I switch to Corel Ventura Publisher which has not been maintained since ages, but is still a good piece of software. By teh way: Why does Xara/Magix not simply buy Ventura from Corel an include into their packages.

OSX 10.9, InDesign 9.2.1.
I reset the preferences, restarted which failed to solve the problem.However once I updated my Wacom driver from 6.3.3 to the latest 6.3.8-2 that seemed to solve the problem.
I have a large line of text (110 characters) with no spaces in it that I'm trying to fill into a 4"x6" area, with the text wrapping / font size scaling as needed.
The problem is that Corel is breaking up the text at a hyphen leaving a lot of empty white space at the end of the line after the hyphen.
If I remove this one particular hyphen (there are many), then no problem. I've already checked for hidden (newline) characters.
The "Use Hyphenation" option is unchecked and there is no formatting going on other than the size of the text box itself.
First I am a new user of InDesign so it might just be me. I am trying to use text wrap and it works fine with a text box. When I try to do the same thing on another page with a link text, text wrap does not work.

I don't receive any error messages, it just doesn't do anything after I select all of my export options. If I remove a specific linked document from the file, it exports fine, so I assume it has something to do with that one linked file

View 1 Replies View RelatedI am trying to animate 4 pages (of text and graphics) so they appear 1 at a time in an never ending loop in InDesign so I can export and create and animated GIF for a web banner.
The only way I have managed to do it so far is to group the text and graphics on each page, copy pages 2, 3, 4 onto page 1. Layer them on top of each other, animate them to appear 1 at a time by delaying the timing a second for each.But I can't get it to work as a loop.

How could the file have converted to a version of ID that I do not have? The properties information for the file specifies that it is CS6.
