When I place a psd file in Illustrator, I am not able to check the "link" box and it automatically embeds the image. I don't know if there is something else I need to do to make the box checkable, but I need to be able to link the images.

Is there a way to link many Illustrator files (say about 200) to the styles of a single master?
The goal is to set up all of the 200 files in such a way that they can all be modified by a master setting. For example, I would like to control font size, line weight, etc. in this "master". It could simple be a file with settings or another AI file.
I would also need to "break the link" at some point (or just have it such there is not dependency that would make it unusable). That way I could disseminate each file without the need for the master.
After installing Mavericks, I can no longer link files in illustrator CC as the finder window closes by itself after one second or if I click on anything. It was happening with save as also, but that seems to have rectified itself by reinstalling the program.
View 11 Replies View RelatedI am running OS 10.6.8 on MacBook Pro (traveling). Use Suitcase Font Management. Saved 1.5 Mb file and closed it. When I go to File-->Open Recent, or File-->Open and select the file to reopen, it does not open. When I double-click on the file, it also does not open. If I quit Illustrator CC and relaunch it, I can then open that same file using any of the aforementioned methods. Is this something I can fix or is it a 10.6.8 glitch? I can live with it if I have to, but it is inconvenient. T

I have create an excel file with a description and a hyperlink.With this way the user is able to open all the file that was able to open in only one excel.So far everything is OK.My problem is this. Have added 3 new lines for 3 different adobe illustrator files.When the user makes a click in the hyperlink open the adobe illustrator but is empty.They don't opening the file that has added in the hyperlink. (It happens only in the .ai files all the other files .pdf - .doc - .jpg opening without any problem)

After renaming several derived parts, 1 of the parts won't re-insert/link itself into the .ipt model. I receive the error message as shown. (please note: actual file names and locations aren't shown)
D:ConceptPart5.ipt has a reference to D:HardwareUSB-B.ipt. It has been resolved to D:HardwareUSB-1020.ipt which is not the same file as originally referenced. The resolved document is not usable!
The original file name was titled USB-B.ipt while the renamed file is USB-1020.ipt.
I have an equipment list on excel 2013, that I can't insert into my AutoCad (2014) drawing. I've tried using paste special, paste link, using both as excel work book and as an autocad table. I have a wide variety of problems with both. Pasting as autocad table sometimes it wont update, when I try to update the link it locks up the drawing. When I paste as excel workbook it doesn't plot, although it show on plot preview. Is there a memory setting that has to be changed on autcad I have 12 gigs of memory on my computer.

View 6 Replies View RelatedI'm using a pc with windows 64 bit, and get this warning when trying to analyse the footage with either the 3D camera tracker or warp stabilizer. A warning pops up that says, unable to obtain dynamiclink server connection, and the footage does not analyse. The only solution is restarting my machine.. not very time saving.
Also similar issue, when I am working on a comp in AE and go to open the edit in premiere pro, premiere freezes and closes without opening.. only way to fix this is to either restart the machine, or have opened a premiere project before opening an AE comp.
I decided to download the trial version of Adobe After Effects CS6. I've been playing around with it and I've run into trouble. When I try to us the 3D Camera Tracker tool, I'm promptly greeted with an error that states, "unable to obtain dynamiclink server." This happens every single time I press the "analyze" button. Cannot delete the link in the data link manager becasue it is in use. Had to open the drawing in 2011 and detach the data link. 2008 also detached the link no problem.
How to detach a table link?
I am using Premiere Pro CC, up to date, on Windows 7 Pro 64 bit. After week's vacation opened large project to find all clips offline. When I linked, they located fine but OK produce "the importer reported a generic error". I know the clips are on their hard drives and have not changed position. I am not sure of next step. I have always been able to link before though have not used "locate" dialogue box. Checking other projects reveals consistent problem with importer.

I have enabled all the recommended programs through my firewall. I see the dynamiclink server is running in my task manager, I have closed all other programs, no antivirus, I have restarted my computer, no luck with this.
Also to add additional information:
It seems that when I try to do replace with After Effects composition in Premiere Pro I am getting error: The importer reported a generic error
and also when I first launch After effects I am getting a failure to load a few plugins from CineForm including importer
Can I link files from 2 different locations. i.e Music, Clips on a server while running the application from 2 different computers? The reason is, i want to work on both and have it so that if need, I can take my Laptop and show the progress to others.

The ipj file is checked into vault. We keep a unchecked-out copy in the working folder. By the end of the day I must I started and closed inventor several times. I notice that there are several copies of shortcut link (lnk) files to the ipj file created in the same location as of ipj file.

how to properly link my footage on my timeline to color corrected files from film convert. I know how to do it to each individual clip at a time, but when I select a whole folder, it always relinks the media to it's original destination and not the new destination with the color corrected files. What's the correct way to link multiple clips to new source files?
