Apr 20, 2013Is there a button or easy way to reset the tools in AI CS6 without exiting the program? Specifically the Star tool.

Illustrator :: Tools And Preferences Reset To Default
Nov 22, 2012Tools and preferences reset to default every time I quit Illustrator (cs6)? I spend so much time setting up my tool pallet "just so" but every time I have to close down and re-open they just resent to default . . . same is happening in photoshop??

Nov 10, 2012I have photoshop CS6. The eraser and brush tool is not working properly. I get a small dot on the page irrespective of the size of the eraser or brush that I select. Also I'm not sure if this is a feature of CS6. I've produced a graphic that involves a large number of layers, on past versions of photoshop if I needed to edit a layer I would select that layer and go to it on the page and edit it. On CS6 after I select the layer when I put my cursor anywhere on the page it would automatically select the layer that I am touching, which is similar to Coreldraw or Illustrator.

Jun 27, 2013When I try and use a round brush with 100% hardness, there is still significant dropoff in density from the center to the outside of the brush. Both the brush and layer are on "normal" mode. I've reset the brush tools. I've deleted the preference files for PSE10. What other settings should I be checking? I know that "brush flow" doesn't show up as a menu item in PSE10, but you can change it with keystrokes. I've messed with that and you can see the darkness of the brush change in the dropdown - I've set that to the "00" setting [shift-apple, ##], which I believe puts it to 100.

The typical scenario woulld be as follows: the user lifts the pen from the tray, the pen event will me mapped into selecting Pencil Tool from AI toolbar after which the user can add freehand annotations to the AI document.
Is there an API which would allow me to map abailable hardware tools with relevant AI tools? Is there an example which would demonstrate such integration?

Nov 28, 2012i'm in action schematic and if i reset any node (for example images/surface) then some parameter is still not affected. For example : the blend type and surface type and couple more are not affected by that reset function. Is this a bug ?

Came into work today to find my Illustrator CC has defaulted back to factory settings - keyboard shortcuts, workspace/panel setup, etc - all defaulted. Not only that, but the individual files I might use to revert back to my settings are gone.
Then I'm suddenly asked via a pop-up to log into my Adobe ID so as to validate my Illustrator CC. Again. Then, I find, for some reason I'm logged out of the Adobe Creative Cloud program. So I log in, hoping that'll do something.
Now I must re-do 100% of the customizations I've made to Illustrator's interface.
Illustrator :: Reset Gradient Size / Position In AI CC?
Aug 22, 2013I'm not sure if I've missed a setting or gradients are behaving differently in AI CC.
After filling a shape with a gradient fill and then modifying it's angle/position/size with the Gradient Tool (G)... then going to create a new shape, I want to reset the gradient back to the default angle/position/size. Usually I'd just click/double-click on the gradient I was using in the Swatches panel and it would reset. However this isn't working anymore.
I was wondering if I've missed a setting to make this possible

Mar 24, 2014Every tool with the triangle on the bottom right corner doesn't allow me to see the other tools that are available in that selection area. I can hold down the alt key and click on the icon (tool) and it switches but it doesn't have the drop down menu when I right click on it. May 3, 2013fairly regularly illustrator decides to hide the tools set / and often panels like color / font etc behind the artboard.
it doesn't happen on starting the program, just maybe an hour or two into using it and i find the tools are hidden and i can to drag the windows around to find them again.
they also vanish at times if i am in the middle screen mode (clicking 'f' once to access) - again this doesn't always happen.

Oct 9, 2012So in Photoshop when I select a tool on the toolbar and right-click it, I am given a menu of "sub" tools to choose from. In Illustrator, however, the same does not happen. I can select the tool on the toolbar, but right-clicking has no effect on those tools that appear to have sub-tools available (indicated, I thought, by the little corner triangle in the icon, just like Photoshop). Alt-clicking, alt-right-clicking, shift-clicking, ctl-clicking, nothing seems to work.
How do I, for instance, switch from the rectangle tool to the rounded rectangle tool (if there is one)? And how do I see which sub-options are available under those tools that have the little triangle?
I'm using Illustrator CS6 64-bit on Windows 7 64-bit

May 7, 2013For some reason when I hold down the right hand side on my mouse pad to access the hidden tools in the tools palette in illustrator, it shows the alternative tools but wont let me switch to them eg I hold down the right hand pad and can see the smooth tool underneath the pencil but I cant switch tools. It certainly has worked in the past but appears to have stopped working?

Feb 23, 2014I'm not sure what I did in Illustrator, but my ellipse/rectangle tools are "off." All make a slanted shape, as if I created a normal ellipse then rotated it. They are also very narrow no matter how I draw them. There is a small symbol showing up while I draw them. It looks like a small vertical line connected to a small horizontal arrow.

Dec 29, 2008I am working on someone elses computer and the Software settings are different. The old owner does not use this computer anymore. The swatches are set and I would like it to function how it usually does, etc. I mean, even the transparent swatch on the tool bar is not there anymore, so when I use the pen path tool, I get these white and black fills which makes it difficult for me to see the path I am meant to be following.
How do I reset Photoshop so that I can customise it the way I want it? Reinstalling the softwares is not an option.
I would like to reset Illustrator, Indesign, Dreamweaver, etc.

Feb 18, 2014 I have been working with creating the effect of indented text. I have created a new fill which I placed behind my original one.I then went to "Effec" Transform & Distort" " Transform". I was going to add a vertical move of 1px - BUT it doesn't move vertically? My fill is moving downwards 1px?!
I thought I was going crazy until I zoomed in and applied the same setting again....sure enough it is moving down for veritical and vertically for down.
