I needed to design hebrew text so I just down loaded Illustrator cc. But I don't have the "middle eastern composer" in my illustrator. How can I get that? I looked illustrator instruction manual. It wasn't same as my illustrator cc. And feel so stressful now. How come adobe's manual is different than what I have.

View 3 Replies View RelatedWhile I work in Editing I can add titles and I can write in Hebrew (Use relevant font) While in the creation of DVD menus I can't. When I move to Hebrew mode in the Key board I can type but nothing is shown.
From my knowledge from other applications it is related to support of Uni Code. By the way it is the same in X2,X3 and X4 and allos in Move Factory 7. While in the old DVD workshop it works without any problems.
How do I type hebrew characters in a document. Is there an on-screen keyboard that I can use similar to how microsoft word does? I am using Illustrator CC.

I have switched my text engine to middle eastern, enabled middle eastern features through the type menu, and changed my text direction to RTL (right-to-left) and yet, it still writes my Hebrew backwards (LTR).

Using the standard method to switch to Hebrew in Windows 7 usually give me the Adobe Hebrew font (and I think sometimes Myriad Hebrew). Is there any way to predefine which Hebrew font will be used when making the switch when I want a different font used? I know I can (and do) set a character style for it, but then I must first switch to Hebrew, then type the word or phrase, then use the character style to change the font (it doesn't usually work if you set the character style before switching to Hebrew), then change the character style back for the rest of the text.What is the simplest way to get the Hebrew in the font I want?

View 9 Replies View RelatedI am using AutoCad 2012 Educational Version / Autodesk Design Review 2012 and DWG Truview 2013 and am unable to see Hebrew font within a drawing. The file title is in Hebrew and shows correctly when I open the file within any of the programs listed above, but any Hebrew text within the figure displays/prints as question marks?? I do have Hebrew as a font on my PC and have no issuues within other programs (Windows, MS Office 2010, etc.). I seem to be having a problem with jagged text when trying to design a webpage in PS. I have the resolution set to 72dpi because it is only for the web. However I have noticed that any text I add seems very jagged. I have tried applying smooth, criss etc which seems to fix it a little bit but not as good as it should. One strange thing I did notice was that I had added a text banner to my page which was jagged. Then later on I added another one and it seemed perfect. Im not sure what I did to the second one to make it better than the first lot of text I added.

So imagine that the background is a piece of cloth, if you placed you hand under the cloth the cloth would take on the impression of the hand. So the text would be poppin' out at the viewer from what would look like underneath the background. Something similar to this. I have seen it on other flyers and was just wondering how it is done.

I am fairly new to Illustrator, although since I'm pretty good at Photoshop (I have used it exclusively for graphic design for 10 years) I have been picking up Illustrator fairly quickly. I created a design but would like to put a white stroke on everything so that it will look good on both dark and light colored shirts, but I can't figure out how to do this. It's SO simple in Photoshop, but I need the vector capabilities of Illustrator more and more these days so I really need to learn how in Illustrator.
All of my objects are in separate layers so I have tried to combine them and merge them to create a new stroke around them but all this does is group them and still create new strokes on each individual object. How do I literally MERGE them as they are (front object stays in front, back object stays in back, and they retain their coloring) so that I can put a white stroke around them?
I'm having an issue with the save feature in Illustrator CS5.5 (15.1.0 for mac). Typically when making changes to design files, we will save the Illustrator file first, then save as a PDF proof to send to the client. Our issue is that the file appears to save correctly, but when opening the Illustrator document a few days later, we find that only SOME of the changes were saved. Now keep in mind that I've only saved the document once, why would only a few changes save from one single save point?
On top of this, our PDFs come out without any problems, and all changes save just fine.
This is a major issue for us, as we need to be able to trust that ALL previous changes save, as we use the Illustrator document to create subsequent versions. We don't have the time to check through every minute detail to make sure that the file saved properly. This should be a very basic function of the program, yet it is creating big time headaches for us.
Could it be that we are saving as PDF first, then as AI? Would that somehow affect the ability of Illustrator to save properly?
When using a DVD/CD template to do a design to print onto a DVD/CD even though the template shows the circular shapes of both the outer circumfrance and the central hole etc if I paste a square design onto the circular template the design is not restricted to the printable area of the DVD. How do I achive a design that is just printed onto the printable are of the disk?

Then in Inventor I create a 2D sketch and click the ACAD button to import it. It works, but not in the way that I want. Only the outline shows up. I want a solid face that I can extrude and work with.

I need to design a dvd label for a client and they want to be able to make edits to it after I design it. Is there a way I can design it in illustrator.. save as an interactive pdf and then they can edit it with acrobat? I know with acrobat you can make edits to type but can you make edits to colors, photos, etc? Any other application that they would be able to use without having adobe?

View 5 Replies View RelatedI worked on a design saving it about every 10 minites and also saving a copy every hour. Later, when I try to open any of the copies of this file, Illustrator gives me this error:
the file opens but most of the objects are gone. I managed to open the file with Adobe Accrobat and saved it as eps then open it in Illustrator but the paths are mess and all effects converted to embeded images.I also placed the file but if I try to edit the link it gives me the same error and when I embedded the link it was a little bit better but similar mess like the eps saved from Acrobat..I'm using Illustrator CS5 Design file Windows 7.
I recently upgraded my Mac OS to 10.7.5 from 10.7.4. I also upgraded Java from SE6 to 7. Now my cs4 design suite will not open. I click on the Illustrator alias but nothing happens. I get the Rainbow Pinwheel that spins for 2 seconds and then stops. This also happens when I try using Photoshop, InDesign, and Dreamweaver. I've also tried opening using the .app file in the applications folder, but the same thing happens.
A side note: I tried to revert back to Java 6 with no luck. and I do not have a back up of my OS to revert back to 10.7.4. Everything was working great prior to the upgrades.
