Jan 23, 2012I am trying to use the 'Corsiva Hebrew' font on my mac (osx 10.5 - gimp 2.6.8) without any luck. The font works in other software like openOffice for instance.

InDesign :: How To Set Default Hebrew Font For Words Within English
Mar 18, 2014I'm using ID CC ME. Much of my work contains a Hebrew word or pharase within an English sentence. Using the standard method to switch to Hebrew in Windows 7 usually give me the Adobe Hebrew font (and I think sometimes Myriad Hebrew). Is there any way to predefine which Hebrew font will be used when making the switch when I want a different font used? I know I can (and do) set a character style for it, but then I must first switch to Hebrew, then type the word or phrase, then use the character style to change the font (it doesn't usually work if you set the character style before switching to Hebrew), then change the character style back for the rest of the text.What is the simplest way to get the Hebrew in the font I want?

Apr 9, 2012I am using AutoCad 2012 Educational Version / Autodesk Design Review 2012 and DWG Truview 2013 and am unable to see Hebrew font within a drawing. The file title is in Hebrew and shows correctly when I open the file within any of the programs listed above, but any Hebrew text within the figure displays/prints as question marks?? I do have Hebrew as a font on my PC and have no issuues within other programs (Windows, MS Office 2010, etc.). As I need to edit the figures and text for Israeli clients, how can I get the Hebrew font to show??

I have switched my text engine to middle eastern, enabled middle eastern features through the type menu, and changed my text direction to RTL (right-to-left) and yet, it still writes my Hebrew backwards (LTR).

Jul 3, 2011While I work in Editing I can add titles and I can write in Hebrew (Use relevant font) While in the creation of DVD menus I can't. When I move to Hebrew mode in the Key board I can type but nothing is shown.
From my knowledge from other applications it is related to support of Uni Code. By the way it is the same in X2,X3 and X4 and allos in Move Factory 7. While in the old DVD workshop it works without any problems.

GIMP :: 2.8.4 - Font Won't Appear As Option
Mar 6, 2013Today I upgraded from a 2.6 version of Gimp to 2.8.4 in an attempt to solve this rather vexing problem. (Mac OS 10.6.8)
I'm working on a project modifying some existing poster art that already contains a font called Plaza Swash. The originator sent me the font for installation into my (Mac) system, which I did using Font Book. No problem there as Plaza Swash shows up in the list as being perfectly accessible. However, using the text tool in Gimp, this font does not appear in the list. It appears in every other program I have that can access fonts, I just cannot get it to appear in Gimp. I really need to use this font, too. As I said I'm modifying existing work and I need my work to match. This is not the first time I've installed new fonts, it's just the first time I cannot get one to work. It is a true type font and shouldn't present a problem.

I downloaded a font called Palace Script in ttf format. I found my fonts folder in Gimp and copied the font file to the fonts folder.
Then I restarted Gimp.
The font does not show up when I try to select it.
I also tried installing the font using the font manager and it installed, and I can only use it Pages.

Jul 24, 2013Am making a brochure, use the pre-set A5 print size. All great, but when converting the XCF file to PDF the fonts are not represented correct and are drastically reduced in size.
I tried the flattening option, but that takes a lot of resolution/sharpness out of the file and makes it less fit for printing.

All of the sudden, GIMP is now using the old style of fonts and interface, and I don't know why. The only thing that I can imagine might have caused it is that I just downloaded Synfiq and that used a similar interface. However, to test that theory, I just deleted Synfiq from my computer, but my GIMP interface is still in the old style.
I guess it's not a huge deal because (as far as I can tell) the change hasn't affected functionality.

Oct 17, 2012Attempting to add text in Gimp 2.8.2. I can do everything I need (size, font, etc) except I can not get the color to change. When I change color, the text does turn a light grey, but it doesn't change color.
