I was able to do this once but I need to add more images and it won't let me. I've tried saving the JPEG images on my desktop. I've tried saving my document on my desktop. I've done the update.
View 4 RepliesI am trying to place an .eps image on an InDesign document, however, the blue bounding box in Illustrator is cropping part of the image. I can see the full image in Illustrator. Maybe the bounding box is too close to the edge of the logo? Below is the what it looks like when I place it in InDesign and what it looks like in Illustrator. Is there a way I can include the missing part of the image? I am not the creator of the logo and received it from another company.

View 9 Replies View RelatedRecently updated to CS6 but one thing very frustrating is that File>Place does not work. When I select it a window will pop up, but as soon as I select any image from the window the entire Illustrator application stops working.

I was forced to switch back to CS5.
When I go to place an image in Illustrator 5.5 the application quits. Do I have to reinstall the application? I haven't changed any preferences recently.

I want to place it on a blue background, so I've copied the type in Illustrator switched the colors so everything can be read against blue and worked well. However, I can't seem to get whatever file type I place of the shield in Illustrator (tiff, jpg, gif) to not have white pixels around it. You'll see what I mean in the attached 2nd image.

I made a selection of the shield and then did a layer mask of the rest of the logo. There are some extra pixels but some are so small that I don't think I can get them all. I've tried placing the logo in InDesign too and there is the same issue.
I have a 900x900 px image, and a 900x900 px artboard.
When I place the image on the artboard, the image is 675.094x675.094 px

Is there a way with JavaScript to place an image with a calculated path and file name? I have 30+ artboards per document, each artboard named by product number. The actual file name of the master AI file is also already established (meaning every document I use this new script on will have already been saved).

Here's the scenario I'm hoping to create in the context of the documents mentioned above:
Run a script to "Place" a linked image based on the following calculated path:

["S:SAPCurrent Images in SAPStock Schools"] + [current ai filename minus the .ai extension]+[a hyphen like this "-"]+[currently selected artboard name]+[".jpg"]

This image link can be placed on a new top layer called "Images" or if necessary on the currently selected layer. Dimensions of the placed image should be a pre-determined size 8"x8".

I saved a logo I've completed at work using CS6, and saved it in CS5 format and also as a PDF. However when I open them both (one in illustrator and the other in Adobe Reader) they both have a cloudy, hazy effect over them. The colours aren't bright and crisp like they were when I saved them at work in CS6. I have them saved as RGB as well...at least that's what it showed the document colour mode was when I checked it

A client sent an InDesign IDML file. I opened it at exported its stories as .txt files.

When I tried to place the texts in a new InDesign CS5 document, the text displayed strangely. Mostly, I see rectangles with exes through them. It looks likethe headers of an unreadable format. Some of the characters are normal alhabetic glyphs.

When I open the text files in TextEdit, they display normally. If I copy and paste, the texts look fine in the InDesign document.

What could cause this problem, and how can I fix it?
Free Transform is not working on the image that I Place in the document? It works with objects that I created in the drawing itself.
View 7 Replies View RelatedI've been trying out the different palette options in Image Trace and I believe I've come across a feature that does not work as the designers intended. In Adobe's documentation, there is very little said about the feature, which I believe is intended to allow you to substitute a custom palette for the palette that would be created by the original artwork that is being traced. It's under the Palette drop-down menu and is available if you've selected the Color Mode. It's called Document Library. In Adobe's documentation, there are these two paragraphs:
[URL]Palette - Specifies a palette for generating a color or grayscale tracing from the original image. (This option is available only when Mode is set to Color or Grayscale.)To let Illustrator determine the colors in the tracing, select Automatic.To use the document swatches as a palette for the tracing, select Document Library.
This would be a great feature, if it worked! I have a lot of artwork to trace, it's all in a set yellow-to-green palette, and it would be a big time-saver if I didn't have to change the palette after the trace. Unfortunately, the feature doesn't work as promised.
I received a nice cd from usa with loads of actions and their corresponding filters - the problem comes when I load up the action, run it and it asks for the corresponding filter -
I browse to the filter folder, choose a filter and click ok.
Photoshop then gives me the following error:
Could not place the document because PDFL initialization failed?
I cut and paste in place from a layer to an other and its not in the right place. it seems new since CS6

I'm working with Corel Draw X6 and need to place sports cliparts in my document.
I opened the connect docker and found all the clipart files.
Problem : I only see the title which does not give a lot of information about the content of the clipart.
Question : What do I have to do to see the pictures?
Elements 7 used to place my photos in a new document and there was very little resizing to do. now with elements 10 and 11, my photos are placed way larger than the document and i have alot of annoying resizing to do on every one. There must be a way to change this.

The video was shot on my iphone 4S and ive even tried converting to other formats yet Photoshop still gives the same error. I have checked through Bridge and I have no option to send to Photoshop on the right click menu. try out the new features of CS6 for video editing.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI have an action in which it will place an image onto an image like a watermark, when i place the image, it is not center by center so i drag it or use keyboard arrows to center and then press enter, then i saw its on the center, but when i save it, the saved image is not on the center, how was that?

you can see that the right side of border it is not centered because the left side border is thicker than right side, here is the part of the action

you can see that i move the image after i place it because its not on the center so adjusting it makes it at the center but the Translate part is not equal.
I used to be able to do this but have forgotten how. I would like to remove the bg from a small image, ie make it's bg transparent, and place that small image on top of a large image, a banner. Not sure what I am doing wrong but when I place the small image on the large one the entire image is transparent, not just the bg.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI've taken a photo of a monitor. The monitor is OFF so the screen is black. I want to superimpose another image onto the blacked-out screen, so it looks like the monitor is on and displaying a live image.

Apart from the overlay operation, it's complicated by the fact that the image of the monitor is slightly distorted by perspective, while the inserted image is square.

So I guess this means that I need to perspective-isedistort the second image to match the available space on the monitor image.

I just started using CS2 - Can I place an eps image (saved with a clip path created in PSD) into a PSD file? I used to be able to do that in PSD 7.
When I place the eps file into PSD, I don't get the clip I get the entire image.
I made sure that I saved the file with the clip path.
how to take things from one image and place it other.
In the tutorial the guy took himself out of his his everyday photos and placed himself in photos with sceneries and people from other countries and called it his digital vacation.
Unlike most of these cheesy tutorials all of his looked like he was really there in these scenes even placed in groups of people it looked real.
I didn't even think about it then but I'd like to do some of that with pictures I have but can't for the life of me find a good tutorial on how to do it. There's so many websites anymore and most of them are just for Adsense with 100's of links.

I want to place the png image in the psd image but I'm not having much luck. If I copy and paste the png image, all I get is a selection outline, not the image itself. I created a new layer for the psd image before pasting, but obviously I'm doing something wrong.
