Illustrator :: 5.5 Quits When Place Image (tif / Jpg Or Png)
Aug 9, 2012When I go to place an image in Illustrator 5.5 the application quits. Do I have to reinstall the application? I haven't changed any preferences recently.

Illustrator :: Can't Place Image With CS6
Aug 6, 2012Recently updated to CS6 but one thing very frustrating is that File>Place does not work. When I select it a window will pop up, but as soon as I select any image from the window the entire Illustrator application stops working.

I was forced to switch back to CS5.

Jan 7, 2014I was able to do this once but I need to add more images and it won't let me. I've tried saving the JPEG images on my desktop. I've tried saving my document on my desktop. I've done the update.

Jun 13, 2013I am trying to place an .eps image on an InDesign document, however, the blue bounding box in Illustrator is cropping part of the image. I can see the full image in Illustrator. Maybe the bounding box is too close to the edge of the logo? Below is the what it looks like when I place it in InDesign and what it looks like in Illustrator. Is there a way I can include the missing part of the image? I am not the creator of the logo and received it from another company.

Jul 13, 2012I have received permission to use the attached logo (1st image) on a business card for a project.

I want to place it on a blue background, so I've copied the type in Illustrator switched the colors so everything can be read against blue and worked well. However, I can't seem to get whatever file type I place of the shield in Illustrator (tiff, jpg, gif) to not have white pixels around it. You'll see what I mean in the attached 2nd image.

I made a selection of the shield and then did a layer mask of the rest of the logo. There are some extra pixels but some are so small that I don't think I can get them all. I've tried placing the logo in InDesign too and there is the same issue.

Here's the scenario I'm hoping to create in the context of the documents mentioned above:
Run a script to "Place" a linked image based on the following calculated path:

["S:SAPCurrent Images in SAPStock Schools"] + [current ai filename minus the .ai extension]+[a hyphen like this "-"]+[currently selected artboard name]+[".jpg"]

This image link can be placed on a new top layer called "Images" or if necessary on the currently selected layer. Dimensions of the placed image should be a pre-determined size 8"x8".

Error if the ai document has not been saved yet.

Feb 18, 2014It works fine until I try to move a path, any path, that I've drawn with the pen tool. It happens on any file I work in When I do, it quits and gives me the message below.

Jul 19, 2012I have an action in which it will place an image onto an image like a watermark, when i place the image, it is not center by center so i drag it or use keyboard arrows to center and then press enter, then i saw its on the center, but when i save it, the saved image is not on the center, how was that?

you can see that the right side of border it is not centered because the left side border is thicker than right side, here is the part of the action

you can see that i move the image after i place it because its not on the center so adjusting it makes it at the center but the Translate part is not equal.

Apart from the overlay operation, it's complicated by the fact that the image of the monitor is slightly distorted by perspective, while the inserted image is square.

So I guess this means that I need to perspective-isedistort the second image to match the available space on the monitor image.

However, I assume that the first step will be to get both images to the same density. The monitor pic is currently at 180 pixelsinch while the pic to be overlaid is 95.987 pixelsinch.

In the tutorial the guy took himself out of his his everyday photos and placed himself in photos with sceneries and people from other countries and called it his digital vacation.
Unlike most of these cheesy tutorials all of his looked like he was really there in these scenes even placed in groups of people it looked real.
