I rely heavily on the ctrl+z function to undo steps of my work quickly, but it's not working in Illustrator cs6. It says I'm using the correct shortcut, but no matter what I do I can't get it to work.

View 10 Replies View Relatedso naturally our keyboard layouts are Danish.But there's a fantastic shortcut in Illustrator, that only works with the English layout. Basically - make a square and place a pattern in it. If you rotate the box using 'R' you rotate the entire box and the pattern. But if you hold the 'button next to 1' (tilde in some parts of the world, console in other parts) and then press 'R' it will only rotate the pattern and not the box.
However, that only works with the English layout.. what is the name of that function, so I can set up the shortcut manually or change the keys needed for the shortcut?

System: Mac OS X 10.8.5
Whenever I use a Shape tool for which the up and down arrow keys change its attributes, the up and down arrow keys skip several states. So for example, a star can go from 5 points to 12 points if I tap the up arrow key once, skipping 6 - 11 pointed stars entirely. It happens with polygons, spirals, and the flare tool as well.
I tried using a different keyboard, but the problem persisted. I also used my keyboard with another computer and Illustrator behaved just fine. So it's definitely a problem with the software.
In Illustrator CS6 I established a keyboard shortcut of Alt+Shift+Ctrl+= to the command Type-->Change Case-->UPPERCASE (and Alt+Shift+Ctrl+- to Type-->Change Case-->Title Case). In Illustrator CC, these two keyboard shortcuts are not working. They are displaying in the Type menu correctly, and the menu commands themselves work correctly, but the shortcuts do not work.

In AI CS6, pressing Command+Shift+Option+F on the keyboard, while text is active, hilights the Font Field in the Character Panel... not so in AI CC. I can open CS6 on the same file and it works... Open AI CC and no result.

View 3 Replies View RelatedI'm currently using Civil 3D 2012, and all of a sudden CTRL+Z has stopped working as UNDO. It does nothing. I've found this issue in lots of other outdated forum posts, but none seem to relate to Civil 3D 2012. I went into CUI to see if the shortcut was somehow changed, but the UNDO command still points to CTRL+Z as its shortcut.

Press Undo again (Redo) and History list returns to last position, last stroke is still on screen. Click Undo again, History list backs up one step, but now brush stroke disappears as it should.
Or, after clicking Undo the first time, the brush stroke will disappear if I apply another stroke or enter a command, e.g. add new layer.
After making three consecutive brush strokes: Use Backwards command, the History list backs up one step, but brush stroke remains on screen. Use Backwards command a second time, History list backs up another step, the last two brush strokes disappear from screen. Use Backwards a third time, History list backs up another step (now 3 steps total), and the first brush stroke disappears as it should.
These commands work fine when creating three consecutive layers, then undoing or moving backwards.
I am using CS 5.1 for Mac running OS Lion 10.7.4. This problem occurs using either a trackball, Wacom Intuos4 tablet or keyboard shortcuts. Can this be a screen-draw bug in the brush tool?
I had been working on an edit for way too long and of course i didnt save it the entire time because im terrible i guess, I wanted to see what the deal with Lens Flare was so i went Filter>Render>Lens Flare to check it out. I hated it and immediately removed the flare with no problems.
Then I was going to go back to Lens Flare to see if i could adjust it into something sort of decent but i accidentally went Filter>Render>Lighting Effects and it locked my Photoshop up (yes my computer sucks). I then started to panic because of the extensive amount of time i put into this edit without saving it.
I opened Photoshop and it loaded up the recovered file i was working on. Unfortunately it has the terrible lens flare from my first attempt attached to it and im not able to undo or anything. Is there anything i can do to get rid of the lens flare?
im a noob at photoshop, i just started a few days ago. (use it to texture for 3d stuff) and im getting a few problems with it.
the main problem is that none of the command keys are working (stuff like Ctrl + Z for back and Ctrl + Y for redo) also some other commands are not working. Does anyone know whats going on?
I think it'd be so cool to be able to replay your entire undo history of a picture, so you can see and show others how you proceeded on a picture you made. That way, it's never necessary to capture screen video for like 10 hours and stuff..
So first you'd need to add an option to save the undo history (so that you always keep the history from when you started). Then you'd need an option to playback the undo history.
Is there a way to undo without zoom as part of the undo?

I have a problem understanding how undo marks are added to the undo stack.In the code below a fan of lines are draw in a random location.If you run MTest a few times, the AutoCAD Undo command will remove the fans one at a time.
If you run MMulti to draw 10 fans, the AutoCAD Undo command will remove all the fans in a single step.I want to be able to remove the fans one at a time.I thought that a StartTransaction / Commit pair would act as markers for the undo stack, but this isn't working.

I was wondering if the shortcut CTRL+ALT+2 still works in CS6? Whenever I hold these three keys down at the same time nothing happens. Is it my PS that is playing up? I have used this shortcut several times in CS5!

I can move it around and draw a box (in the background of PS, outside any open images). I want it to go away and do SAVE AS instead.

View 2 Replies View RelatedSo i'm trying to get the clipping mask shortcut working for Photoshop CC on OS X 10.9, when I try to use the shortcut, nothing happens. I even tried deleting the shortcut and remaking it, but when I remake it, it doesn't recognize I'm pressing Command Option G, even though I can press these keys in the System Keyboard Shortcuts and it works, for some reason Photoshop is ignoring me pressing Command and Option at the same time?
Also sometimes when I press Command Option Z to undo it just ignores it as well, I have to manually undo the change using my mouse, then it works again.
When i type O for offset Command its not working its shows following error, i have attached the screen sort.
then i write full command "Offset" its working, like this many shortcut command are not working (Array, Reactangle, Fillet etc.)
I want to set up a keyboard shortcut for quickselect. I opened the CUI right clicked to create new temporary shortcut, put the command into the line and selected shift and Q. There some gobbledy **** message about it being also assigned to another command but that it will prioritise the one at the bottom of the tree, and my new shortcut IS at the bottom of the tree so far as I understand the phrase.
Bur when I try to use it, the shift key is not recognised. I press shift and q but all that comes up in the command line is q.

Now, in this new version (done after a clean format, reinstall of my XP OS) the shortcut no longer works. I check and it still has ALT+CTRL+I listed next to Image Size in the drop down menu as the proper keys, but it does not work.
I tried resetting the preferences but to no avail. I have also recently tried creating custom Keyboard Shortcuts and applying the "Working with Text.

ALT+CTRL+C seems to work fine for selecting the canvas, as does all my other other shortcuts (IE: CTRL+N for new canvas, CTRL+A to select, etc).
It seems the ALT+CTRL+I is the only thing giving me an issue.
After recently updating to CS6 I have noticed that if I delete an object, say registration marks, I can't undo that action. Undo will work in every other situtation, color change, move, etc. but not if the item was deleted. This is a major problem as I have had to completely close designs and start fresh because an important item was accidentally deleted and I couldn't get it back.

Running the latest Photoshop CS6 on Mac and the Step Backward keyboard shorcut does not work at all. Command-Z works fine; Command-Option-Z does nothing. I don't believe I'm running any custom keyboard apps that would interfere, and when I check Photoshop's Keyboard Shortcuts it's right there (correctly set as the default).
